EA800-IP NETWORK SETUP
Cloud Computing – Not An Embedded Web Server
To access the EA800-ip through a web browser, it must be plugged into a wired Ethernet connection with internet
access. The EA800-ip does not work like an IP camera. It works in the same way that a PC does with the device being
a client – not the host. The host is the Winland remote server. The EA800-ip will only connect to this server. It is not
possible to connect to an internal server at this time.
Device Network Settings
In most cases, you will not need to access the device’s network settings. To troubleshoot installation connection issues
or to manually assign the device’s IP settings, navigate to the Network menu. The EA800-ip must first be unlocked to
access this menu. (Press F1 and enter password.)
>Main Menu, >System, >Configuration, >Network
- Client Mode:
Disabled
Cloud (default)
Local (not yet developed)
DHCP:
Disabled - Enter network settings manually. Consult your network administrator.
Enabled (default) - Network settings are automatically assigned by a router or DHCP server.
- Diagnostics: This will ping the host and will refresh every 10 seconds; remain on this screen for at least 30
seconds. A successful ping will fill in the time and the host IP address. It should also give you a ping time in
milliseconds. If you don’t see the time or the host IP address, the device is not reaching the host through your
network.
Wi-Fi
The antennae on the EA800-ip connect to the wireless sensors and are not for Wi-Fi communication. Wi-Fi connections
require an Ethernet-to-Wi-Fi adapter.
To insure proper operation, test weekly.
