What’s New Behind the Doors?
Your Whirlpool® Door-within-Door French Door Refrigerator comes equipped with various
innovative storage and energy-efficient features.
Door-within-Door
Featuring a designated cool area for drinks, this feature lets you have instant access to your favorite foods and drinks without having to open the entire refrigerator. Use the hidden latch to open the door-within-door and get instant access to the gallon door bin and your cold beverages.
Energy and Normal Operating Sounds
Your new Door-within-Door French Door Refrigerator has been designed with a Linear Compressor to optimize energy efciency and better regulate temperatures to match cooling demand. This allows the refrigerator to respond at variable speeds and optimize cooling needs by avoiding abrupt start/stop cycles. You may notice that it operates differently than your previously owned refrigerator.
Cold Space
Keeps your drinks at the right temperature with active cooling. Air from the refrigerator compartment is channeled to a vent in the lower door bin.
Freeze Shield
This feature minimizes moisture migration from frozen food. This in turn reduces the freezer burn occurrence. To turn on the Freeze Shield mode, toggle to the coldest freezer temperature set point. To turn off the Freeze Shield mode, toggle from the coldest freezer set point to any other temperature. This feature will also turn on when the freezer reaches the ice-making temperature.
Innity Slide Shelf
Your new Innity Slide Shelf or shelves (on some models) is designed to maximize accessibility to items of all shapes and sizes. Small items t perfectly around the shelf perimeter and remain accessible, while tall items nestle perfectly in the center when the glass is pushed back. And, with the Innity Slide Shelf, you don’t lose an entire half shelf to tall item storage. Just push the glass portion back as far as you need to accommodate tall items – innite adjustability.
Platter Pocket
This full-width slide-out shelf tucked between the crispers and the lowest shelf is perfect for leftover family-sized casserole dishes, pizza boxes, and large party platters.
Triple-tier freezer storage (on some models)
A drawer system that organizes items on three levels making them easier to store and nd. The lower drawer includes a divider. There’s also an in-door pizza pocket, a pull-out drawer for smaller items, and third level glass shelf for small, at items.
Adjustable Shelves on Flipper System
Shelves that can be adjusted up or down easily with the ip of a lever, allowing them to be adjusted without having to unload them. The shelves are easy to clean and let you use the whole shelf edge to edge for full visibility and accessibility.
FreshFlow™ Air Filter
An air lter is 15 times more powerful than baking soda at reducing common food odors inside the refrigerator. Replace your air lter every 6 months for maximum odor reduction.
Water Dispenser with Measured Fill
The Measured Fill feature allows you to dispense a desired amount of ltered water in convenient increments like 8, 16, or 24 oz.
Water Dispenser with Favorite Fill
The Favorite Fill feature allows you to save two custom presets that can be programmed for favorite items that are frequently lled, such as a coffee pot or a water bottle.
Panoramic LED lighting
Multiple strips of LED lights inside the refrigerator compartment, freezer compartment, and interior drawers minimize shadows and evenly distribute light throughout the refrigerator.
To view videos on door removal/
replacement, door adjustment, water
filter installation, air filter installation,
shelf adjustment or removal,
scan the code to the left with your
mobile device.
Deli drawer with customized temperature
Make temperature adjustments based on the refrigerated foods you’d like to store so things like meat, deli items, and drinks are kept in their ideal cooling environment.
In-Door-Ice® Storage Bin
The ice maker and ice storage bin are located in the door for easy access to ltered ice while freeing up valuable shelf space inside and adding additional door bins for more usable space.

INSTALLATION CHECKLIST
Electrical Power
Plug refrigerator into a grounded 3 prong outlet.
Doors
❑ If doors need to be removed during installation, see “Remove
and Replace Refrigerator Doors” in these instructions.
❑ Check that handles are secure and installed according to
these instructions.
❑ Doors seal completely. ❑ Refrigerator is level. (Remove base grille and adjust leveling
feet so they are snug against the oor.)
❑ Doors are even across the top. (Use door alignment feature
if necessary.)
❑ Base grille is properly attached to the refrigerator.
Ice and Water System (on some models)
❑ Connect refrigerator to a cold water supply with 20-120 psi
water pressure, as specied in these instructions.
❑ Make sure the household water supply is connected and
turned on.
❑ Check that the water supply line behind refrigerator is not
kinked.
❑ Only use recommended water supply tubing, copper, or PEX,
as specied in these instructions.
❑ Install water lter according to the instructions. ❑ Flush water system with 3 gallons of water, as specied in
these instructions.
❑ Check for water leaks at all connections. ❑ Turn on ice maker if refrigerator is connected to water supply.

DOOR ALIGNMENT
Align Refrigerator Doors
If doors are uneven:
■ Ensure the refrigerator is level.
■ Keeping both refrigerator doors closed, pull out the freezer
drawer. Locate the bottom hinge pin of the right-hand refrigerator door. The alignment screw is inside the bottom hinge pin.
■ Insert the short end of the 1/8" hex-key wrench (packed with
the Door Handle Installation Instructions) into the bottom hinge pin until it is fully engaged in the alignment screw.
To raise the refrigerator door, turn the hex key to the right. To lower the door, turn the hex key to the left.
■ Continue to turn the alignment screw until the tops of the
door are aligned.
ENERGY SAVER MODE AND NORMAL
OPERATING SOUNDS
Your new Door-Within-Door French Door Refrigerator has been designed to optimize energy efciency and better regulate temperatures to match cooling demand.
You may notice that it operates differently from your previously owned refrigerator.
It is normal for the high-efciency compressor to run for extended periods of time at varying speeds in order to consume only the energy necessary for optimum efciency.
In addition, during various stages of the cooling cycle, you may hear normal operating sounds that are unfamiliar to you.
Energy Saver Mode
A selectable feature that turns off the heaters around the refrigerator doors and dispenser. When this feature is enabled, condensation may form on the front of the refrigerator cabinet, gasket, or on top of the freezer drawer. Savings may vary based on the relative humidity of the environment.
Shelf Height Adjustment
Shelf height can be adjusted by changing the adjustable shelf mounts between their vertical and horizontal positions.
■ Carefully lift the shelf off the shelf mounts and turn the ipper
to the desired orientation.
■ Repeat for remaining shelf mounts.
■ Ensure the shelf is properly seated on the shelf mounts.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Unpack the Refrigerator
WARNING
Excessive Weight Hazard
Use two or more people to move and install refrigerator.
Failure to do so can result in back or other injury.
Refrigerator Delivery
■ A minimum door opening of 33" (838 mm) is required. If
door opening is 36" (914 mm) or less, then removal of doors, drawer, and hinges is required.
■ Cart the refrigerator from the side for all door openings
When Moving Your Refrigerator:
Your refrigerator is heavy. When moving the refrigerator for cleaning or service, be sure to cover the oor with cardboard or hardboard to avoid oor damage. Always pull the refrigerator straight out when moving it. Do not wiggle or “walk” the refrigerator when trying to move it, as oor damage could occur.
Remove the Packaging
■ Remove tape and glue residue from surfaces before turning
on the refrigerator. Rub a small amount of liquid dish soap over the adhesive with your ngers. Wipe with warm water and dry.
■ Do not use sharp instruments, rubbing alcohol, ammable
uids, or abrasive cleaners to remove tape or glue. These products can damage the surface of your refrigerator.
■ Dispose of/recycle all packaging materials.
Location Requirements
WARNING
Explosion Hazard
Keep flammable materials and vapors, such as gasoline, away from refrigerator.
Failure to do so can result in death, explosion, or fire.
IMPORTANT: This refrigerator is designed for indoor, household use only.
To ensure proper ventilation for your refrigerator, allow for a minimum 1/2" (12.7 mm) of space on each side and at the top. Allow for a minimum 1" (2.54 cm) space behind the refrigerator. If your refrigerator has an ice maker, allow extra space at the back for the water line connections. When installing your refrigerator next to a xed wall, leave a 3³⁄4" (9.5 cm) minimum space between the refrigerator and wall to allow the door to swing open.
NOTE: This refrigerator is intended for use in a location where the temperature ranges from a minimum of 55°F (13°C) to a maximum of 110°F (43°C). The preferred room temperature range for optimum performance, which reduces electricity usage and provides superior cooling, is between 60°F (15°C) and 90°F (32°C). It is recommended that you do not install the refrigerator near a heat source such as an oven or radiator.
Clean Before Using
After you remove all of the packaging materials, clean the inside of your refrigerator before using it. See the cleaning instructions in the “Refrigerator Care” section.
Important information to know about glass shelves and covers:
Do not clean glass shelves or covers with warm water when they are cold. Shelves and covers may break if exposed to sudden temperature changes or impact, such as bumping. Tempered glass is designed to shatter into many small, pebble-size pieces. This is normal. Glass shelves and covers are heavy. Use both hands when removing them to avoid dropping.
