Betore you begin, read the following lnstructlons completely and carefully. It followed, they will simplify the installation job.

1. Remove screw holding junction box cover.

2. Remove proper electrical knockout See Figure 1.

3. Lift the hood into position. Mark location of four

mounting holes.

4. Remove hood and start all four screws in center of

narrow neck of keyhole slot marked on cabinet bottom. (Fig.

2).

5. Lift into position on four screws simultaneoulsy feeding

electrical wire through knockout.

8. Complete electrical wiring in junction box according to

the National Electrical Code and applicable Local codes.

for an easier installation, remove the filters and the three assemblies shown in Fig. 3. This reduces the weight about 40%. The blower cover and light frame assembly are held into place with thumb screws. To remove the blower assembly, first unplug the blower supply cord from the junction box. Remove the packing screw from the blower retaining rod, then pull the blower retaining rod to one side, freeing it from between the bumps on the blower housing.

TOOLS AND MATERIALS REQUIRED

Drill, electric or ratchet drive, with 1-W’ wood bit (to drill an access hole in the cabinet or kitchen wall for the electric power line.)

One common head screwdriver (to secure hood mounting screws to the cabinet and hood sheet metal

parts).

Pliers (for opening knockouts).

Pencil, ruler and level for marking cabinet locations.

NOTE: This unit must be permanently grounded.

7. Tighten screws to secure hood. Be sure screw head is in

narrow neck of keyhole slot.

8. Replace junction box cover.

9. Replace blower cover, light frame assembly and filters.

10. Replace blower.

Saber saw or keyholesaw for cutting the wall or cabinet

openings.

OPERATION AND CARE OF UNIT

CARE OF FILTERS: A. ALUMINUM FILTER: For greatest efficiency, the

permanent type aluminum filter should be removed and cleaned periodically. To clean, the filter should be soaked in hot water detergent, then thoroughly rinsed. The aluminum filter can be washed

in a dishwasher.

8. CHARCOAL FILTER: This filter should be inspected periodically and when it becomes saturated should be replaced. There are no effective means of reactivating charcoal filters.

CARE OF EXTERIOR SURFACES:

Your range hood is a beautifully finished addition to your kitchen. To preserve its lasting beauty, clean with a mild detergent. DO NOT use abrasive cleaners.

LIGHTING

Select two light bulbs up to 75 watts each to acheive desired

lighting level. BLOWER CONTROL

This range hood has a solid state motor speed control. After setting the control to a desired speed, it will take approximately 15 seconds for the blower to respond to that setting.

For most effective removal of smoke and odors, turn on fan at

beginning of cooking operation and allow to run until smoke and odors are removed from room.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS FOR

ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions

should always be followed including the following:

1. Read and follow all instructions.

2. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.

3. To avoid providing fuel for a grease pan fire,clean lint

and grease from all hood surfaces-interior and exterior.

Be sure to remove and clean air filter every three months.

4. Do not saturate electrical connections, switches, and motor in water during cleaning. Remember, WATER AND ELECTRICITY DO NOT MIX!

5. If any electrical malfunction becomes evident during use, disconnect power to hood at your home fuseor breaker box.
