CONTROL BOX
* The cooktop control knobs are not interchangeable. After cleaning or servicing, they must be returned to their original positions (see the above diagram next to each knob).
N.B.: The cooling fan runs continuously at two different speeds according to the temperature value of the components when the appliances are in use. Full speed: for high temperature of the components. Half speed pulsing: for low temperature of the components. The pulsing speed has to be considered a normal appliance condition at half speed. The fan may continue to run for the time necessary to ensure sufficient cooling of the components and adjacent kitchen units after the appliance has been switched off.

The cooktop control knobs are marked with a numerical scale corresponding to different power settings, and a series of function symbols.
KEEP WARM FUNCTION
This function uses a low power setting so that food can be kept warm when cooking is terminated.
How to operate:
1. Turn the knob to .
2. To deactivate the keep warm function, change
the knob position.
DUAL ZONE FUNCTION
(Dependent on cooktop model)
This function is available on the front left and rear left cooking zones. The dual zone function extends the heated area of the cooktop so that you can use large, oval or rectangular pans.
How to operate:
1. Turn the knob to and wait for the residual heat
indicator for the chosen hotplate to start flashing.
2. Select the required power by turning the knob
anti-clockwise. The residual heat indicator remains lit to show that the cooktop is switched on.
3. To deactivate the function return the knob to "0".
>> INITIAL COOKING PHASE FUNCTION (ICP)
This function speeds up heating of the hotplate for the preset time during the initial cooking period.
• For glass ceramic cooktops WITH residual heat
indicator light:
1. Turn the knob to

2. Wait until the residual heat indicator light starts
flashing and then turn the knob anti-clockwise to the required power setting.
• For electric cooktops WITHOUT residual heat
indicator light:
1. Turn the knob to

2. Wait for 5 seconds and then turn the knob anti-
clockwise to the required power setting. E.g. if the setting is "1", the cooking zone will operate at full power for 1 minute and then continue at power level “1” until cooking is terminated or the knob position is changed.
If the setting is "6", the cooking zone will operate at full power for six minutes and then continue at power level "6" until cooking is terminated or the knob position is changed. This type of operation is applicable to all levels except level “10”.
FAST BOILING FUNCTION
This function makes it possible to bring water to the boil fast; the fast boiling function remains active for a preset time. At time elapsed the cooktop returns automatically to power level 10. The fast boiling function can be activated also once you have already started cooking.
How to operate:
1. Place the pan on the chosen cooking zone.

GENTLE HEAT FUNCTION
Can be used to prove dough, soften hard butter from the fridge, keep a baby's bottle or baby food warm, for yoghurt making, etc.. This function is only available when the relative cooking zone residual heat indicator light is switched off.
How to operate:
1. Make sure the residual heat indicator light for the
cooking zone you intend to use is switched off.
2. Turn the knob to .
