Dear Customer, This refrigeration appliance uses R600a, a 100% environmentally friendly refrigerant, flammable only under certain conditions. For normal operation of your refrigeration appliance, the following rules must be observed:
- Do not hinder the free circulation of air around the appliance.
- Do not use mechanical devices to accelerate defrosting, other than those recommended by the manufacturer.
- Do not destroy the refrigeration circuit.
- Do not use electrical appliances inside the food storage compartment, other than those recommended by the manufacturer.

RECYCLING YOUR OLD REFRIGERATION APPLIANCE
If your new refrigeration appliance replaces an older one, please read the following notes carefully.
Old appliances are not useless wastes; their removal according to environmental regulations allows the recuperation of valuable raw materials. The appliance to be disposed of should be treated in the following manner:
- disconnect the unit from the power supply;
- cut off the supply cable;
- remove any door locks to prevent children from becoming trapped inside
when playing.
Refrigerators and freezers contain insulation materials and refrigeration agents requiring appropriate recycling. This appliance contains refrigeration agent R134a (HCFC 134A) which conforms to environmental standards. Ensure that the refrigeration circuit is not damaged until it is drained according to the standards in force.
RECYCLING OF PACKAGING Warning!
Keep all wrapping out of the reach of children. Playing with the folded
cardboard or plastic sheeting carries the risk of suffocation. The appliance has been protected with adequate packaging for protection
during transport. All wrapping materials are produced in accordance with environmental regulations and can be recycled. Help us to help the environment by recycling the wrapping material where possible.

IMPORTANT!

Warning!
This appliance should only be used for the purpose it was manufactured for. It should be installed in a location of adequate dimensions and kept away from rain, damp etc.
HANDLING INSTRUCTIONS
The appliance must be transported in an upright position only. The wrap must be kept intact during transport.
If the appliance was transported in a horizontal position, it should be allowed to rest for at least 12 hours before starting up the appliance, to allow for stabilisation of the refrigerating circuit.
If these instructions are not complied with, the compressor could be damaged and the terms of the guarantee may no longer apply.
SAFETY MEASURES DURING USE
If the appliance is faulty, do not attempt to run it.
All repairs must be carried out by authorised personnel only.
The appliance should be disconnected from the power supply in the
following situations:
- during defrosting;
- during cleaning.
Disconnect the appliance by pulling the plug out of the socket. Never pull on the cable.
Always allow the minimum space required between the appliance and the
wall where the unit is to be located. Never use electric devices inside the appliance to defrost it.
Never climb up on the appliance or stand on the crosspiece, doors,
compartments or shelves. Never store goods containing inflammable or explosive gases in the
appliance. The appliance should not be used near heaters, cooking appliances or
other sources of heat. Don’t leave the door open any longer than necessary when removing or
putting in food. Food should not be left in the freezer when the appliance is not in use.

If the appliance is not to be used for a few days, it is not necessary to
disconnect it. If the appliance is not to be used for more than a few days, proceed as follows:
- disconnect the appliance from the power supply;
- empty the refrigerator and the freezer;
- defrost and clean the appliance;
- leave the doors open to avoid the build-up of unpleasant odours.
SUGGESTIONS FOR FOOD STORAGE
For best hygiene and storage results:
The freezer is designed to store frozen foods and freeze fresh foods.
The refrigerator is designed for the short-term storage of fresh foods and
drinks. Dairy produce should be kept in special covered compartment (11) located
on the inside of the door. Cooked foods should be kept in airtight containers for no longer than 2-3
days. Fresh packed goods can be kept on the shelves. Fresh fruit and
vegetables should be kept in the vegetable box. Bottles should be stored on bottle shelf (8) located on the inside of the
door. To keep refrigerated meat fresh, pack it in polythene bags. Do not allow it
come into contact with cooked foods. Fresh meat should not be stored for more than 2 or 3 days. For optimum efficiency, do not cover the shelves with paper or other
materials to allow the cool air to circulate freely. Do not store oil in the door shelves.
Keep all foods wrapped or covered. Once opened, tinned foods should be
transferred to an airtight food storage container. Let hot foods cool before putting them into the refrigerator.
Fizzy drinks should not be kept in the freezer.
Drinks with a high alcohol content must be stored in a vertical position in
tightly sealed containers, to avoid the risk of explosion.

ASSEMBLY
This appliance has been designed to operate at a room temperature of between +16°C and + 32°C (class N). If the room temperature exceeds +32°C, the internal temperature of the appliance may rise. If the room temperature falls below +10°C, appliance performance will be affected. Avoid using the appliance at temperatures below +5°C.
Locate the appliance away from sources of heat, being careful not to hinder the free flow of air around the appliance; any obstruction will bring the entire refrigerating system into operation, leading to higher power consumption.
After locating the appliance in the desired position on a level surface, bring it to a horizontal position by turning the front feet clockwise or anti­clockwise until a good contact with the floor is obtained. Correct adjustment of the feet avoids vibration and excessive noise.
Assemble the lower crosspiece and two condenser stops as shown in the diagrams.
MAINS CONNECTION
The appliance is designed to at a single-phase voltage of 220-230V, 50 Hz. Before connecting the appliance to the mains, be sure that the mains voltage, current type and frequency comply with those of the appliance as specified on the technical data label.
Warning!
The electrical safety of the appliance is guaranteed only if the power supply is earthed in accordance with the laws in force.
EARTH CONNECTION IS COMPULSORY! STARTING UP
Before starting up the appliance clean the inside (see chapter “Cleaning”). When cleaning is finished, connect the appliance to the mains, open the door (the lamp should be illuminated) and adjust the thermostat knob to a medium position. Leave the appliance running empty for approximately 2 hours. Fresh foods can be frozen after a minimum of 12 working hours.

ADJUSTING THE TEMPERATURE Refrigerator
The internal temperature may be adjusted by means of the thermostat knob. The temperature inside the appliance may vary depending on the conditions of use: location, room temperature, the frequency with which the doors are opened and the quantity of food stored and the thermostat knob should be adjusted accordingly. As a general rule, the thermostat knob should be set to a medium position for a room temperature of 25°C.
The thermostat also assures the automatic defrosting of the refrigerator. During defrosting, the temperature inside the refrigerator may rise to +8°C, but decreases to 2-3°C during the freezing period, bringing the average temperatures over the whole working cycle to about +5°C.
Avoid setting the thermostat knob at too low a temperature, causing the appliance to run continuously. This causes the temperature to drop below 0°C, causing potential freezing of drinks and fresh foods and an excessive accumulation of ice on the internal wall, all of which may cause an increase in power consumption and a drop in refrigerating efficiency.
Drops of condensation or ice particles form on the back wall when the entire refrigerating system is in operation. It is not necessary to remove these particles, as the back wall is defrosted automatically.
The resulting water is drained through the special drainer and collected in a drip pan located on the compressor, where it evaporates.
Freezer
The position of the thermostat may also influence freezer temperature. Generally, this temperature is between –18°C and –28°C over the whole working cycle.
FOOD STORAGE HINTS
The freezer is designed to freeze fresh foods and to store frozen foods for an extended period.
For best results, it is essential to wrap foods well.
Wrapping materials should be airtight, inert towards the wrapped foods, resistant to low temperatures, liquid-, grease-, steam- and odour-proof, and should be washable. Plastic and aluminium wrap, and containers in plastic, aluminium and tempered glass are all suitable.
IMPORTANT!
To freeze fresh foods, use the compartment marked with 4 stars (quick
freeze compartment).
Do not freeze very large quantities of food at the same time. Food
keeps best if it is deep-frozen in the shortest possible time Therefore it
is preferable not to exceed the freezing capacity of the appliance,

shown in “
to obtain the lowest temperature possible inside the freezer, taking
care not to allow the temperature inside the refrigerator to fall below
0°C.
Ready-frozen foods may be put directly into the freezer, without
adjusting the thermostat.
The maximum storage time of frozen foods is marked on the inner door
of the freezer. If no freezing date is indicated on the packaging, 3
months should generally be considered as the maximum storage time.
Any food which has been defrosted, even if only partially, must not be
refrozen. It should be consumed immediately or cooked and then
refrozen.
In the event of a power cut, the appliance door should not be opened.
Any frozen foods will not be affected for power cuts lasting less than 20
hours.

SAFETY MEASURES
The thermostat should be adjusted
Fizzy drinks (soft drinks, mineral water, and champagne) should not be
stored in the freezer; the bottle may explode. Drinks in plastic bottles
do not freeze.
Never give children ice cream or similar products directly from the
freezer; the low temperature may cause cold burns.
Do not touch the cold metal parts or inner walls as this may cause
burns.
Never touch the cold metal parts or frozen foods with wet hands, as
they can quickly freeze on contact with the very cold surfaces.
HOW TO MAKE ICE CUBES
Fill the ice cube tray ¾ full with water and put it into the freezer. The cubes can be easily detached by running the tray under cold running water for a few seconds.
DEFROSTING
Refrigerator

Keep the collector and the draining hose clean to allow the water from the defrosting process to drain. Check that the end of the hose is always inside the drip pan on the compressor, to prevent water flow above the electric wiring or on to the floor.

In the freezer, check the thickness of the ice regularly. Defrosting should be carried out when the ice reaches a thickness of about 6-8mm (once or twice a year under normal operating conditions), because ice is an insulator, which decreases freezer efficiency while increasing power consumption.
Before defrosting, set the thermostat knob to maximum to deep freeze the foods. Once this is done, take out the frozen foods, wrap them in paper and put them in a cool place. Leave the door open and put containers filled with hot water (max. 80°C) into the freezer to aid defrosting.
Do not use sharp metal objects to remove the ice.
Do not use a hairdryer or other electrical heating device to aid defrosting.
Once the ice has melted, dry the water with a sponge or cloth.
INTERNAL CLEANING
Disconnect the appliance from the mains before cleaning.
It is advisable to clean the appliance whenever defrosting is carried out. Wash the inner part of the appliance with lukewarm water and soda ash (1 teaspoon in 4 litres of water); never use soap, detergent, fuel or acetone as they may create unpleasant odours. Clean with a damp sponge and dry with a soft cloth.
During the cleaning operation, avoid using excess water to prevent it running into the thermal insulation of the appliance, which may cause unpleasant odours.
Do not let the water run into the thermostat casing.
When cleaning is finished, re-connect the appliance to the mains. Don’t forget to clean the door seals thoroughly using a clean cloth.
EXTERNAL CLEANING
Clean the outside of the appliance using a sponge dipped in warm water and soap, and clean with a soft dry cloth.
Never use cleaning powder or abrasive cleaners.
Cleaning of moto-compressor – condenser group
Remove any dust from the compressor- condenser group (mounted on the back of the appliance) using a soft brush or vacuum cleaner.
Take care not to bend the piping or pull out the cable.
When cleaning is complete, replace the accessories and re-connect the appliance to the mains.
OPERATING SOUNDS
NORMAL SOUNDS
Stifled murmur- generated by the compressor during operation.
Compressor starting and stopping may cause an increase in volume.

Soft gurgling or murmur – caused by refrigeration agent flow through
the refrigerating system.
“Click” – can be heard when the thermostat switches motor on or off.
If you notice...
Vibration of grids and shelves: check that these are pushed fully home.
Noises due to the contact between bottles or containers – leave a little
space between them.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem Possible causes Solution
1. Lamp doesn’t work while motor is running.
2. There is water in the bottom part of the refrigerator.
3. The refrigerating appliance starts too often and works for longer periods.
4. The appliance is not cooling.
The lamp is blown. Replace the lamp:
-disconnect the appliance from the mains;
-release the lamp cover;
-replace the lamp with another one of max. 15W,
220-240V ac, socket E14. The water-draining channel is clogged.

has been opened too often.
- The airflow around
the appliance is obstructed.
- The appliance has
shut down or is switched off.
The thermostat knob is set to the “0” position.
Clean the collection channel
and draining tube.
- Avoid opening the door more than necessary.
Allow the air to circulate freely around the appliance.
- Check if there is mains power, that the fuses are not blown, and that the plug has been wired correctly.
- Move the thermostat knob from the “0” position.
