BEFORE USING THE REFRIGERATOR
Your new appliance is designed exclusively for domestic use
For best use of your appliance, carefully read the user's handbook which contains a description of the appliance and advice on storing and preserving food.
Keep this handbook for future consultation.
1.
After unpacking, make sure the appliance is not damaged and that the door closes properly. Any damage must be reported to the dealer within 24 hours of appliance delivery.
2.
Wait at least two hours before switching the appliance on, to ensure that the refrigerant circuit is perfectly efficient.
3.
Make sure appliance installation and the electrical connection are carried out by a qualified electrician according to the Manufacturer's instructions and in compliance with the local safety regulations.
4.
Clean the inside of the appliance before using it.
SAFEGUARDING THE ENVIRONMENT
1. Packing
The packing materials are 100% recyclable, and marked with the recycling symbol. Follow local regulations for disposal. Packing materials (plastic bags, polystyrene parts, etc.) must be kept out of th reach of children, as they are a potential source of danger.
2. Scrapping
The appliance is manufactured with recyclable material. This appliance is marked in compliance with European directive 2002/96/EC, Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). By making sure this appliance is disposed of correctly, the user will help prevent potentially negative consequences for the environment and the health of persons.
The symbol on the appliance, or on the accompanying documents, indicates that this appliance should not be treated as domestic waste but must be taken to a suitable collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. Before scrapping, make the appliance unusable by cutting off the power cable and removing the doors and shelves so that children cannot easily climb inside the appliance. Scrap the appliance in accordance with the local regulations on waste disposal, taking it to a special disposal centre; do not leave it unattended even for a few days, since it is a source of danger for children. For more information regarding the treatment, recovery and recycling of this appliance, contact your local office, the domestic waste collection service or the shop where you purchased the product.
Information:
This appliance does not contain CFC (the refrigerant circuit contains R134a) or HFC (the refrigerant circuit contains R600a) (see the rating plate inside the appliance). Appliances with Isobutane (R600a): isobutane is a natural gas without environmental impact, but is flammable. Therefore it is essential to make sure the refrigerant circuit pipes are not damaged.

This appliance is designed to preserve food products and is manufactured in conformity with European Directive 90/128/EEC, 02/72/ EC and Regulation (EC) No. 1935/2004
This appliance is designed, manufactured and marketed in compliance with:
- the safety objectives of Low Voltage Directive 73/23/EEC;
- the protection requirements of “EMC” Directive 89/336/EEC, amended by Directive 93/68/EEC.
The electrical safety of the appliance can only be guaranteed when it is connected to an efficient, approved earth system.

PRECAUTIONS AND GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS
Use the refrigerator compartment only for storing fresh food and the freezer compartment only for preserving frozen food, freezing fresh food and making ice cubes.
During installation, make sure the appliance does not damage the power cable.
Do not store glass containers with liquids in the freezer since they may burst.
Do not eat ice cubes or ice-lollies immediately after taking them out of the freezer, since they could cause cold burns.
Before carrying out any maintenance or cleaning, always unplug the appliance or disconnect the power supply.
Make sure the appliance is not near a heat source.
Do not store or use petrol, gas or flammable liquids in the vicinity of the appliance or other electrical appliances. The fumes given off can cause fires or explosions.
To ensure adequate ventilation, leave a space on both sides and above the appliance and follow the installation instructions.
Keep the appliance ventilation openings free.
All appliances equipped with an ice maker or water dispenser must be connected to a mains water supply that delivers drinking water only (with water pressure between 1.7 and 8.1 bar (25 and 117 PSI)). Ice makers and/ or water dispensers not directly connected to the mains water supply must be filled with drinking water only.
Install and level the appliance on a floor strong enough to take its weight and in an area suitable for its size and use.
For the water connection, use the pipe supplied with the new appliance and do not use that of the previous appliance.
The appliance must be handled and installed by two or more persons.
Place the appliance in a dry and well­ventilated place. The appliance is arranged for operation in places where the temperature comes within the following ranges, and according to the climatic class given on the rating plate: The appliance may not work properly if it is left for a long period at a temperature above or below the indicated range.

When moving the appliance be careful not to damage the floors (e.g. parquet).
Do not use mechanical, electric or chemical means other than those recommended by the Manufacturer to speed up the defrost process.
Do not damage the refrigerator's refrigerant circuit pipes.
Do not use or place electrical appliances inside the compartments if they are not of the type expressly authorised by the Manufacturer.
This appliance is not designed for use by young children or the infirm without supervision.
To prevent the risk of children being trapped inside the appliance and suffocating, do not allow them to play or hide inside it.
Power cable modification or replacement must only be carried out by qualified personnel.
Do not use single/multiple adapters or extension cables.
It must be possible to disconnect the appliance from the mains by unplugging it or by means of a two-pole switch located ahead of the socket.
Make sure the voltage indicated on the rating plate matches the voltage of your home.
Do not swallow the liquid (non-toxic) contained in the cold accumulators (if provided).
The Manufacturer declines any liability if the above recommendations and precautions are not respected.

HOW TO OPERATE THE REFRIGERATOR COMPARTMENT
This appliance is a refrigerator with a star freezer compartment.
Defrosting of the refrigerator compartment is completely automatic.
Optimal performance is obtained at temperatures between +16°C and +32°C.
Switching on the refrigerator for the first time
Insert the plug into the mains socket. The thermostat is used to adjust the temperature of both compartments: refrigerator and freezer.
How to adjust the temperature of the compartments:
1.
For correct operation and optimum storage of food,
it is
advisable to set the thermostat to 2-3/MED.
2.
To adjust the temperature in the refrigerator compartment, turn the thermostat control knob:
• lowest/MIN
numbers for the
LEAST COLD
internal
temperatures;
• highest/MAX
numbers for the
COLDEST
internal
temperatures.
thermostat set to 0: no operation, no light.
Note:
In order to ensure proper operation with an ambient temperature below 16°C, press the button next to the thermostat (if available). Press the button again to turn it off when the temperature is high (above 16°C). The ambient air temperature, frequency of door opening and the position of the appliance can affect internal temperatures. These factors must be taken into account when setting the thermostat.
How to use the refrigerator compartment

Notes:
The space between the shelves and the rear wall of the refrigerator compartment must be unobstructed to allow circulation of air.
Do not place food in direct contact with the rear wall of the refrigerator compartment.
Do not place hot food in the refrigerator or freezer.
Store liquids in closed containers.
Storing vegetables with a high water content can result in condensation in the crisper drawer: this will not affect the correct operation of the appliance.
