PRECAUTIONS AND GENERAL SUGGESTIONS
The manufacturer declines all liability for injury to persons or
•
damage to property resulting from improper use (e.g. use to
heat a room).
The use of electrical appliances calls for adherence to certain
•
basic rules to ensure safety.
The glass ceramic hob is of robust construction; if any cracks
•
or breaks are noticed following bumps or impacts with heavy
objects, the hob must not be used any further. Call AfterSales Service immediately.
Do not use the hob as a place to store objects or as a work
•
surface.
Do not use plastic containers on the hob.
•
If any cracks are noticed in the ceramic glass, switch off the
•
hob and call After-Sales Service.
Before switching on the hob, check that the cooking zones
•
and the bottoms of the pans are clean and dry.
When the cooking surface is switched on the cooking zones
•
reach very high temperatures: Keep children away from the
hob.
When frying with fat or oil it is advisable not to leave the hob
•
unattended so as to prevent any danger of overheating or
catching fire.
Do not heat up the cooking zones with no pan in position.
•
Electrical cables (e.g. of small domestic appliances) must not
•
come into contact with the hot parts of the hob.
Do not leave kitchen towel, synthetic material or plastic
•
objects lying on top of the hob since they may catch fire.
•
To prevent scratches and grooves do not drag pans across
the hob's glass ceramic surface.
To get the best performance out of the hob, use flat-
•
bottomed steel saucepans whose base diameter is the same
or slightly larger than that of the cooking zone.
Avoid spilling sugar or similar sticky substances onto the
•
hob. Should this happen, immediately clean the hob
following the instructions on cleaning given in this guide.

USING THE HOB
The cooking zones available for use are clearly marked on the
•
hob.
The cooking zones are turned on, adjusted and turned off by
•
turning the knobs clockwise.
The four knobs marked with numbering 0 to 6 are used for
switching on the cooking zones. Each number corresponds to
a different heat setting.
The 5th knob is used to turn on the “warm keeping zone” or
one of the zone of the oval plate, or both ones
simultaneously.
The ceramic hob has four indicator lamps which show that
•
the various cooking zones have reached a high temperature.
These indicators light up straight away once the cooking
zones have reached a temperature hot enough to cause
burns.
These indicators also remain illuminated after the cooking
zones are turned off, and do not go out until temperatures
have fallen to a safe level.
The models without indicator lamps have a power-on
indicator which shows that at least one cooking zone is
turned on.
Using the warm keeping zone
This zone is used to keep dishes warm. To turn on the “warm
keeping zone”, turn the knob clockwise to the symbol.
The warm keeping zone indicator lamp (10) lights up.
To turn off the warm keeping zone, turn the knob back to
position “0”.
Using the dual cooking zone
Turn the knob anticlockwise to position .
The indicator lamp (9) lights up.
To turn off the zone again, return the knob to position “0”.
