When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be
followed, including the fol lowing:
Read all instructions before using.
After using Hot Pot, unplug cord from wall outlet. Do not leave Hot Pot
plugged in when it is not being used.
Hot Pot should always be unplu gged before cleanin g.
Be sure Hot Pot cover is properly attached before plugging into the wall outlet
(see instructions ). Hot Pot should r emain covered during he ating.
Do not let cord touch hot surfa ces or hang over the e dge of a counter, t able or
other surface area.
Your Hot Pot, its cord and plug, should not be used outdoors, immersed in
liquid, placed ne ar a hot gas or el ectric burner o r in a heated oven.
Do not touch Hot Pot when it is hot. Use handle for lifting or carrying.
Supervise closely when Hot Pot is used by or near children.
Use your Hot Pot only for the heating and warming tasks des cribed in this
booklet. Do not use attachments with your Hot Pot unless re commended by
The West Bend Company.
Do not use your Hot Pot if it or its c ord has been damaged or i f it is not
working properly.

IMPORTANT SAFE TY INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety
feature, this pl ug will fit in a pola rized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit
fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified
electrici an. Do not attempt to defeat this sa fety feature.
Electric Cord Statement
CAUTION: Your H ot Pot has a short cor d as a safety preca ution to prevent pers onal
injury or property damage resulting from pulling, tripping or becoming entangled
with the cord. Do not allow children to be near or use this Hot Pot, without close
adult supervision. If you must use a long er cord-set or an ex tension cord when u sing
this Hot Pot, the cord must b e arranged so it will not drape or hang over th e edge of a
countertop, t abletop or surface a rea where it can be p ulled on by children or tipped
over. To prev ent electric shock, pers onal injury or fire, th e electrical ratin g of the
extension cord you use must b e the same or more than the wattage of the Hot P ot
(wattage is st amped on underside o f base).
INSTRUCTIONS FOR PLASTIC HOT POT
Clean Before Using
1. Fill Hot Pot with hot tap w ater to the 3-cup level. Add a small amoun t of
dishwashing deter gent and wash inside pot wi th a dishcloth or spon ge. Drain
pot, rinse inside with tap water and dr y.
CAUTION: To prevent personal injury or electric shock, do not immerse Hot Pot, its
cord or plug in water or other liqui d.
2. Wash cover in hot soapy water with a dis hcloth or sponge, rinse and dr y.
Your Hot Pot is now ready to use.
How to Use
The plastic hot pot w ith automatic temperatur e control is designed f or heating water
only. Do not use it to cook or heat foods as it does not get hot enough.
