GENERAL USE
This Jigsaw is designed to cut accurately through plastic, wood and thin metals. It’s purpose is to provide versatile cutting to your desired shape and has been designed for DIY (Do It Yourself) and hobbyist purposes. The machine has an adjustable base plate which allows you to set the required angle for cutting the material. The six-sided spanner provided has a dual purpose; loosening and tightening of the adjustable base plate and the fitting of the Jigsaw blade.
Before using the machine, carefully read the instructions, especially the safety rules. Observe the instructions to ensure your machine always operates properly. Before attempting to operate the machine, familiarise yourself with the controls and make sure you know how to stop it quickly in an emergency. Save these instructions and the other documents supplied with this machine for future reference.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR ALL POWER TOOLS
• Keep the work area clean
A cluttered work area may cause accidents. Make sure the work area is well lit.
• Work environment
Never leave electric tools in the rain. Do not use tools in damp or wet places. Never use tools near flammable liquids or gasses.
• Prevent electric shock
Keep the power lead away from heat, oil and sharp edges. Avoid skin contact with exposed parts of the power lead or plug.
• Store in a safe place
Tools that are not used must be stored in a dry and locked place out of reach of children.
• Do not force the tool
The machine will do the job better and safer at the
rate for which it was intended. Damage caused by forcing the tool is not covered by the warranty.
• Use the right type of tool
Do not use low-powered tools for heavy-duty operations. Never use the tool for anything other than its intended purpose.
• Wear suitable clothing
Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery that might get caught in moving parts. Never wear rings with protruding parts. Cover long hair. Wear rubber footwear.
• Wear safety glasses
Wear a dusk mask when working in a dusty environment.

• Cable or lead
Never carry the tool by its cable and do not tug at the cable to pull the plug from the socket. Keep the cable away from heat, oil and sharp edges. oil and sharp edges.
• Always clamp the work
Always clamp the work against the bench Never work on objects that are too small to hold.
• Posture
Do not overreach. Be sure of your footing and balance at all times.
• Maintain the tool with care
The tool works best and safer if it is kept clean Observe the instructions for maintenance and changing accessories. Keep the tool dry and free from oil and grease.
• Disconnect the machine
Disconnect the machine when it is not in use and when changing blades. Never leave saw running unattended.
• Avoid unintentional starting
Never carry the plugged-in machine with your finger on the switch. Make sure the switch is off when the machine is plugged in.
• Extension cable or lead for outdoor use
Only use approved extension cables suitable for outdoor use.
Stay alert
Watch what you are doing. Use your common sense. Do not operate the tool when you cannot keep your mind on the job.
• Check the machine for damage
Before starting the machine, check that all safety devices and parts operate smoothly and efficiently. Make sure all moving parts are in good working order. Check the machine for any broken or jammed parts, make sure all parts are fitted properly.
• Hearing protection devices are recommended for the user.
• This tool is not intended for use by young children.
• Young children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the tool.
• Do not operate this tool if under the influence of alcohol or drugs or if you are tired. Read warning labels on prescriptions to determine if your judgment or reflexes are impaired while taking the medication. If there is any doubt, do not attempt to operate.
• Pull out all nails in the material before starting to saw. Cutting nails may damage your tool.
• Do not cut hollow pipe with the Jigsaw
• Do not cut material above the specified thickness
• Always allow enough clearance underneath the material to ensure the blade does not touch the floor table etc.
• Hold the tool at a comfortable length from your body. Do not over stretch to reach the material.
• Do not touch moving parts with your fingers or hand.
• Do not cut through walls or cavities without first checking for hidden electrical wires.
• Ensure that you have tightened the blade prior to starting the machine.
• When finished sawing, wait until the saw blade has ceased moving prior to removing it from the material.
• Do not touch the saw blade immediately after use. Allow time for the blade to cool or it may burn you due to the heat generated during sawing.
• Always check accessories to ensure that they are suitable for the operating speeds of this tool.
• Incorrect accessories can break apart at high speed and cause serious damage or injury
• Always use the appropriate blade for the material being cut. There are special blades for each type of material. Please check with your retailer or accessory packaging to determine the appropriate type of blade for the material.
• Make sure the blades are attached securely before plugging saw.
• Firmly position the saw's base plate on the workpiece before tuning on the tool.
• When plunge (pocket) cutting, use a blade designed for that purpose.
• Do not use a dull or damage blade.
• Make sure the trigger lock is in the "Off" position before unplugging or turning off the saw, or before turning it on.

It is recommended that you first mark your intended cutting line with a pencil or appropriate marker
. Start the tool and wait a short moment until the blade achieves maximum speed Put the bottom base on the work piece and move forward slowly along the cutting line.
Take extra care when cutting curved lines. This reduces the stress on the blade and avoids breakage.
CUTTING ANGLES
Use the six-sided spanner to adjust the base plate and set the required angle Loosen the bolts and slide the base backwards away from the blade. Use the angle markings on the base plate to accurately set the angle then slide the base plate back to position and re-tighten the bolts.
While the tool is made to precise settings we recommend that for cutting requiring extreme accuracy. a checking device such as a protractor is used. Adjustment of the base plate is critical for precision cutting. The base plate can be tilted from 0 to 45° left or right.
JIGSAW BLADE MOUNTING
Remove the power plug from the socket before changing blade.
Various kinds of Jigsaw blades fit into the stock of the tool. Please check with your retailer to ensure proper fit before purchasing new blades. Use the six-sided spanner to loosen or tighten the stock and mount the blade according to the following diagrams.
USE OF THE BALL (or ROLLER GUIDE)
Loosen the bolts which fix the base plate and positioner with the six sided spanner. Slide the positioner so that the ball touches the blade then tighten the bolt.
CUTTING METAL
When cutting metal you must use a suitable cooling agent like cutting oil. Unnecessary wear and stress is placed on the blade without the use of cooling assistance.

Your Wel-Bilt tool is covered by a 6-month replacement warranty from the date of purchase. Industrial or high frequency use will void this warranty. The warranty covers faulty parts or workmanship.

• If the tool shows signs of damage or defects caused by or resulting from abuse accidents or alterations.
• If the tool has been disassembled or tampered with in any way
