1. Product description
Power Sharing is the newest concept that allows multiple vehicles to be charging at the same time using current
from the same grid. The main advantage of this functionality is that all connected vehicles can be charged with
the total maximum power available.
All the available chargers are connected on a Master / Slave concept, using CAN bus protocol.
This set-up is composed of a Master charger (Commander) and multiple slaves (Pulsars)
There are two different possible set of configurations based on below power mains:
Mains 63 A (Power 44kW - Voltage 400V 63A per phase)
System with 6 chargers – 1 Master + 5 Slaves (system only start acting with minimum 3 chargers)
Mains 150 A (Power 104kW - Voltage 400V 150A per phase)
System with 15 chargers – 1 Master + 14 Slaves (system only start acting with minimum 6 chargers)
When system start up, there exist a pairing between Master and Slave. The different state on the chargers
that concerns to the Power Sharing process are state “Ready” and state “Charging”.
The slaves are assigned with a power output control to 10Amp (to ensure all vehicles will start charging
process) when system initialization. When a vehicle is connected and change from “Ready” to “Charging”, the
master will distribute the same amount of current among the chargers that are in the "Charging" state.
In the case that the communication between the master and the slave is lost, the slave charger will still be able
to charge at a current of 6 A. This allows the charger to work independently in case of a lost connection.
In case that a setup installation has more chargers than its setting, the master will send current only to the
first allowed chargers. The rest of the chargers will stay in "wait for current" status and will not be able to
charge.

2. Startup
Once system is energized, the Master communicates with the Slaves.
Slaves shows below LED status color:

3. Connection scheme
Communication between chargers is CAN bus daisy chain.
All the chargers must be connected on series.
Commander is Master – Needs to be set on the internal selector.
Pulsar is Slave – Needs to be set on the internal selector
Version 1 on Power Sharing requires to install the Pulsar termination (Pulsar identified as end of line)
It is mandatory that the first charger is a Commander and the last a Pulsar identified as a “Pulsar termination”.
Cable Specs: 2 wires twisted pair and shielded. (UTP Cat 5)
Cable Distance: 300m

4. Main Connections
The Mains are three-phase.
The system can be connected either single-phase or three-phase.

5. Installing
Please follow the installation manual for Commander and Pulsar to mount each charger.
The Commander will be the Master.
Select position on current selector to:
Position 8 (63 A) – Up to 5 slaves
Position 9 (150 A) – Up to 14 slaves
The Pulsar will be the Slave.
Select position on current selector to 0

The CAN bus cable can be installed along the power cables, in the same cable conduit.
Every charger must be connected to the pins following the schematic.

6. Protection recommendations
For safety reasons, an RCD (Residual Current Device) and an MCB (Main Circuit Breaker) should be installed.
It should follow the local national low voltage technical requirements.
We recommend for the mains protection consumption:
63A configuration 150A Configuration
RCD (63A, 300mA) RCD (150A, 300mA)
MCB of 63 A. MCB of 150 A.
We recommend to installation for every charger RCD and MCB protections as follow:
Single phase
RCD type A (32 A, 30 mA)
MCB of 40A / 32A.
Threephase
RCD type B (32 A, 30 mA)
MCB of 40A / 32A.
If the charger is outside a surge protector should be installed.
