INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing the VTech® Rock & Sing Musical Car™ learning toy!
The VTech® Rock & Sing Musical Car™ is a musical push toy for toddlers 9 months and up. This musical car is loaded up with music and learning! The three animal characters teach lessons in pitch, tone and tempo with music to reinforce the concept. The light-up percussion buttons introduce sounds and rhythms. The characters will move up and down and side to side reinforcing cause and effect relationships. A variety of fun melodies and a fun upbeat song for added musical enjoyment.

GETTING STARTED
BATTERY INSTALLATION
1. Make sure the unit is turned OFF.

2. Locate the battery cover on the bottom of the unit. Use a screwdriver to loosen the screw .
3. Install 2 new "AA"(UM3/LR6) batteries following the diagram inside the battery box. (The use of new alkaline batteries is recommended for maximum performance.)
4. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure the battery cover .

BATTERY NOTICE
Install batteries correctly observing the polarity (+, -) signs to avoid leakage.
Do not mix old and new batteries.
Do not use batteries of different types.
Remove batteries from the equipment when the unit will not be used for an extended period of time.
Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
Do not attempt to recharge ordinary batteries.
The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.
Only batteries of the same and equivalent type as recommended are to be used.
Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (nickel­cadmium) batteries.
WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THE USE OF RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES.

To turn the unit ON, slide the ON/OFF/
VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH to the LOW VOLUME ( ) or HIGH VOLUME ( ) position. T o turn the unit OFF, slide the ON/
OFF/VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH to the OFF ( ) position.

2. AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF
To preserve battery life, the VTech® Rock & Sing Musical Car™ will automatically power-down after approximately 30 seconds without input. The unit can be turned on again by pressing any button or rolling the unit.
3. PULL CORD
To convert the unit from a push toy to a pull toy, remove the pull cord from the compartment and thread it through the eyelet on the bottom of the car. For your child’s safety, we suggest you store the pull cord in the compartment until your child is walking.
ACTIVITIES
1. Slide the on/off/volume control switch to turn the unit on. Y ou will hear
a giggle, a phrase and a song. The lights will flash with the sound.
2. Press the animal characters to hear musical phrases, short tunes and melodies. The lights will flash with the sound.

3. Press the light-up percussion buttons to hear musical phrases and
short rhythms. Press the light-up percussion keys while a melody is playing to change the instrument sound of the harmony . The lights will flash with the sound.
4. Press the piano keys to hear individual piano notes. When the piano keys are pressed while a melody is playing, the melody will play one note at a time. The melody will resume normal play when the piano keys are no longer being pressed. The animal characters will move up and down when the piano keys are

5. Turn the turning wheel to hear a fun phrase and a variety of melodies. Turn the wheel while a melody is playing to increase the tempo of the melody. The melody will resume normal play when the wheel is no longer being turned. The animal characters will move side to side when the turning wheel is turned. The lights will flash with the sound.
6. Push the car to hear a song, phrase or a variety of melodies. The lights will flash with the sound.

CARE & MAINTENANCE
1. Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
2. Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and heat source.
3. Remove the batteries when the unit is not in use for an extended period of time.
4. Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit to moisture or water.

TROUBLESHOOTING
If for some reason the program/activity stops working or malfunctions, please follow these steps:
1. Turn the unit OFF.
2. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
3. Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
4. Turn the unit ON. The unit should now be ready to play again.
5. If the product still does not work, replace with a new set of batteries.
