INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing the VTech® Ring Around The World™ learning toy!
The VTech telephone that exposes children ages 12 months and up to different languages. Through this exposure, toddlers will hear different objects, melodies and phrases that correspond to the four languages that are introduced. Several manipulative and tactile features allow toddlers to experience pushing, sliding, rolling or pressing as they strengthen their fine motor development. The key to learning is just a phone call away!

wire ties and tags are not part of this toy, and should be discarded for your child’s safety.
GETTING STARTED
BATTERY INSTALLATION
1. Make sure the unit is turned OFF.
2. Locate the battery cover on the bottom of the unit. Use a screwdriver to loosen the screw.
3. Install 3 new “AA” (UM-3/LR6) batteries following the diagram inside the battery box. (The use of new alkaline batteries is recommended for maximum performance.)
4. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure the battery cover.

BATTERY NOTICE
Install batteries correctly observing the polarity ( +, - ) signs to avoid leakage.
Do not mix old and new batteries.
Do not use batteries of different types.
Remove exhausted or new batteries from the equipment when the unit will not be used for an extended period of time.
Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
Do not attempt to recharge ordinary batteries.
The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.
Only batteries of the same and equivalent type as recommended are to be used.
WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THE USE OF RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES.

“Hello, Let’s learn English, German,
Spanish and French.”
1. ON/OFF VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH
To turn the unit on, slide the ON/OFF
VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH to the LOW VOLUME ( ) or the HIGH VOLUME ( ) position. You will be
greeted by a song followed by an inviting phrase, “Hello, let’s learn English, German, Spanish and French.” The object buttons will light up randomly.

SWITCH to the OFF( ) position to turn the unit off.
3. AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF
To preserve battery life, the VTech® Ring Around The World™ learning toy will automatically turn off. If there is no input after approximately 15 seconds, you will hear phone sounds. If there is no input after another 15 seconds, you will hear a ringing sound followed by “Hello” in the selected language. Then the unit will automatically turn off. The unit can be turned on again by pressing any button.

ACTIVITIES
1. Turn the language selection dial to select a language. You can choose from the following languages:
English German Spanish French
Once the language has been selected, press the buttons, slide the beads or pick up the handset to hear a response related to the selected language. The object button will light up with the sound.
2. Turn the key to hear one of three melodies associated with the selected language. The object button will light up with the melody.
3. Move the joystick up and down to randomly select an object button. The lights will flash and then stop on one of the objects. The word will be identified followed by a corresponding sound.

CARE & MAINTENANCE
1. Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
2. Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat source.
3. Remove the batteries when the unit is not in use for an extended period of time.
4. Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit to moisture or water.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If for some reason the program/activity stops working, please follow these steps:
1. Please turn the unit OFF.
2. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
3. Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
4. Turn the unit ON. The unit should now be ready to play again.
5 If the product still does not work, replace with an entire set of new
batteries.
