INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing the VTech® Ring & Learn Cash Register™ learning toy!
The Ring & Learn Cash Register™ is an adorable and interactive cash register that comes with a shopping basket, ten pieces of food and a credit card. Pretend to weigh the food on the scale or press the number buttons to learn about numbers and food. Slide the credit card through the machine, spin the rollers or open and close the cash register drawer to develop important motor skills.

GETTING STARTED
BATTERY INSTALLATION
1. Make sure the unit is turned OFF.
2. Locate the battery cover on the bottom
of the unit. Use a coin or a screwdriver to loosen the screw.
3. Install 2 new ‘AA’ (AM-3/LR6) batteries
following the diagram inside the battery box. (The use of new alkaline batteries
is recommended for maximum performance.)
4. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure the battery
cover.
BATTERY NOTICE
Use new alkaline batteries for maximum performance.
Use only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended.
Do not mix different types of batteries: alkaline, standard (carbon-
zinc) or rechargeable (Ni-Cd, Ni-MH), or new and used batteries.
Do not use damaged batteries.
Insert batteries with the correct polarity.
Do not short-circuit the battery terminals.
Remove exhausted batteries from the toy.
Remove batteries during long periods of non-use.
Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.
Remove rechargeable batteries from the toy before charging (if
removable).
Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult
supervision.

PRODUCT FEATURES
1. ON/OFF/VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH
To turn the unit ON, slide the ON/OFF/
VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH to the LOW VOLUME ( ) or the HIGH VOLUME ( ) position. To turn the unit OFF, slide the ON/OFF/VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH to the OFF ( )
position.
2. MODE SELECTOR SWITCH
To choose a mode of play, slide the
MODE SELECTOR SWITCH to the NUMBER MODE ( ) or the FOOD MODE ( ).
3. BACK BOARD
Insert the BACK BOARD into the slot
behind the roller bars.
4. AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF
To preserve battery life, the VTech® Ring & Learn Cash Register
will automatically power-down after approximately 60 seconds without
input. The unit can be turned on again by pressing any button, pushing down on the scale or by sliding the credit card through the slot. Spinning the rollers will not turn the unit back on.
Note: If the unit repeatedly powers down quickly or the seven
button ashes three times then the unit powers down, we
suggest changing the batteries.

ACTIVITIES
1. Slide the on/off/volume control switch
to turn the unit on. You will hear a playful song and phrase in the number mode, and a fun sound, phrases and a playful song in the food mode. The lights will
ash with the sounds.
2. Press the light-up number buttons to
learn the numbers and the colors of the buttons in the number mode, or learn about food in the food mode. The lights
will ash with the sounds.
3. Press the function buttons to hear
fun sounds in the number mode and playful phrases and short tunes in the
food mode. The lights will ash with the
sounds.
4. Press the open button to pop out the
cash register door. You will hear a fun sound and phrase in the number mode, and fun sounds in the playtime mode.
The lights will ash with the sounds.
5. Slide the credit card through the slot
on the side of the cash register to hear a variety of sounds and phrases. The
lights will ash with the sounds.

6. Press down on the scale to hear fun
sounds in the number mode and sounds and phrases in the food mode. The lights
will ash with the sounds.
7. Spin the rollers to hear fun sounds
and a song in the number mode, and hear random melodies and songs in the
food mode. The lights will ash with the

CARE & MAINTENANCE
1. Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
2. Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat
source.
3. Remove the batteries when the unit is not in use for an extended
period of time.
4. Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit to
moisture or water.

TROUBLESHOOTING
If for some reason the unit stops working or malfunctions, please follow
these steps:
1. Please turn the unit OFF.
2. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
3. Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
4. Turn the unit ON. The unit should now be ready to play again.
5. If the product still does not work, replace with a new set of batteries.
