Thank you for purchasing the VTECH® Pull 'n PlayPhone learning toy! We at VTECH® are committed to providing the best possible products to entertain and educate your child. The VTECH® Pull 'n Play™ Phone is an interactive pull toy for toddlers 12 months and up. Your toddler will be dialin’ and smilin’ while learning numbers and counting as well as strengthening motor skills. Press the phone button and surprise, up pops the puppy! Packed with realistic phone sound effects and friendly phone phrases your little one will put you “on hold” for hours.

WARNING: All packing materials, such as tape, plastic sheets, wire
ties and tags are not part of this toy, and should be discarded for your child’s safety .
BATTERY INSTALLATION
1. Make sure the unit is turned OFF.
2. Locate the battery cover on the bottom of the unit. Use a coin or screwdriver to loosen the screw.
3. Install 2 new “AA” (UM-3/LR6) batteries following the diagram inside the battery box. (The use of new alkaline batteries is recommended for maximum performance.)
4. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure the battery cover.
BA TTERY NOTICE
Install batteries correctly observing the polarity (+, -) signs to avoid leakage.
Do not mix old and new batteries.
Do not use batteries of different types.
Remove exhausted or new batteries from the equipment when the unit will not be used for an extended period of time.
Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
Do not attempt to recharge ordinary batteries.

The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.
WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THE USE OF RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES. NOTE: If for some reason the program/activity stops working, please
follow these steps:
1. Please turn the unit OFF.
2. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
3. Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
4. Turn the unit ON. The unit should now be ready to play again. If the problem persists, please call our Consumer Services
Department at 1-800-521-2010 in the U.S. or 1-800-267-7377 in Canada and a service representative will be happy to help you.
TO BEGIN PLAY
1. T o turn the unit ON, slide the ON/OFF/ MODE SELECTOR SWITCH to the
TALKING MODE ( ) or the MELODY MODE ( ) position.
2. To adjust the volume, locate the VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH on the bottom of the unit. Slide it to the ( )
position for LOW VOLUME or the ( ) position for HIGH VOLUME.

3. To use the phone as a pull toy, remove the pull cord from the battery compartment and thread it through the eyelet on the bottom of the phone. We suggest you store the pull string in the compartment until your child is walking.
4. If there is no input to the phone after 30 seconds you will hear a ringing sound effect followed by “It’s for you”. If there is no input after another 30 seconds you will hear “See you soon” and a hang up sound effect, then the unit will power-down. The unit can be turned on again by pressing any button or by rolling the phone.
5. To turn the unit OFF, slide the ON/ OFF/MODE SELECTOR SWITCH to the OFF ( ) position.

ACTIVITIES
T ALKING MODE
1. Slide the ON/OFF/MODE SELECTOR SWITCH to the TALKING MODE
( ) position. Y ou will hear a dialing and a ringing sound effect followed by “Hello!”. The light will flash with all the sounds.
2. Press the NUMBER BUTTONS to hear the numbers identified and the corresponding number of music notes. After any three number buttons have been pressed you will hear one of two sound effect sequences. The light will flash with all the sounds.
3. Press the “ ” BUTTON to hear a dialing and a busy signal sound effect followed by one of five random melodies. The light will flash with all the sounds.

4. Press the “#BUTTON to hear a ringing sound effect and “Hello!” followed by one of five random melodies. The light will flash with all the sounds.
5. Press the PHONE BUTTON and see the puppy pop up. You will hear a ringing sound effect or “It’s for you!” and a laughing sound effect. The light will flash with all the sounds.
6. Press the puppy back into the phone to hear “See you soon!” and a hang up sound effect. The light will flash with all the sounds.
7. Pull or push the phone when the puppy is popped up to hear a sung song or a random phrase and a random sound effect. If the puppy is hiding in the phone, you will hear a random sound effect or a sung song. The light will flash with all the sounds.

MELODY MODE
1. Slide the ON/OFF/MODE SELECTOR SWITCH to the MELODY MODE
( ) position. You will hear “It’s for you!” followed by a short tune. The light will flash with all the sounds.
2. Press the NUMBER BUTTONS to hear a random sound effect followed by a pre-programmed melody. The light will flash with all the sounds.
3. Press the “ ” BUTTON to hear a dialing and a busy signal sound effect followed by one of five random melodies. The light will flash with all the sounds.

4. Press the “#BUTTON to hear a ringing sound effect and “Hello!” followed by one of five random melodies. The light will flash with all the sounds.

5. Press the PHONE BUTTON and see the puppy pop up. You will hear a ringing sound effect or “It’s for you!” followed by a sung song. The light will flash with all the sounds.
6. Press the puppy back into the phone to hear "See you soon!" and a random melody. The light will flash with all the sounds.
7. Pull or push the phone when the puppy is popped up to hear a sung song or a random melody. If the puppy is hiding in the phone you will hear a random melody. The light will flash with all the sounds.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
1. Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
2. Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat source.
3. Remove the batteries when the unit is not in use for an extended period of time.
4. Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit to moisture or water.
