Thank you for purchasing the VTech® 2-in-1 Exploration Station™ learning toy! This product is one of a family of high-quality electronic learning products. We at VTech® are committed to providing the best possible products to entertain and educate your child. The VTech® 2-in-1 Exploration Station™ is an interactive activity table for toddler’s 9 months and up. Insert the 4 shapes into their slots to magically change the responses of all the play features on the table. Drop the blocks into the center of the flower to hear phrases, sound effects and melodies while lights dance around the flower petals. There’s so much to see and do, toddler’s will explore for hours.

WARNING:All packing materials, such as tape, plastic sheets, wire
ties and tags are not part of this toy, and should be discarded for your child’s safety .
BATTERY INSTALLATION
1. Make sure the unit is turned OFF.
2. Locate the battery cover on the bottom of the unit. Use a coin or screwdriver to loosen the screw.
3. Install 3 new “AA” (UM-3/LR6) batteries following the diagram inside the battery box. (The use of new, alkaline batteries is recommended for maximum performance.)
4. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure the battery cover.
BA TTERY NOTICE
Install batteries correctly observing the polarity ( +, - ) signs to avoid leakage.
Do not mix old and new batteries.
Do not use batteries of different types.
Remove exhausted or new batteries from the equipment when the unit will not be used for an extended period of time.
Do not dispose of batteries in fire.

Do not attempt to recharge ordinary batteries.
The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.
Only batteries of the same and equivalent type as recommended are to be used.
WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THE USE OF RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES. NOTE: If for some reason the program/activity stops working, please
follow these steps:
1. Please turn the unit OFF.
2. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
3. Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
4. Turn the unit ON. The unit should now be ready to play again. If the problem persists, please call our Consumer Services
Department at 1-800-521-2010 in the U.S. or 1-800-267-7377 in Canada and a service representative will be happy to help you.
With the VT ech® 2-in-1 Exploration Station safety comes first: To ensure your child’s safety, the assembly of this product is an adult
activity not a child’s activity . Please ensure the legs, bead track and joystick are securely locked into position to avoid injury.
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
1. To insert the legs, turn the activity panel onto its' side. Insert the legs one at a time until they snap into place.
2. To remove the legs, press the release tabs inwards and pull out the legs.

3. T o insert the bead track, slide the two frog beads onto the pole. Insert the longer end of the pole into the hole closest to the leaf paddle until it snaps into place. Now insert the short end of the pole into the hole closest to the bucket until it snaps into place. Once the bead pole is snapped into place it cannot be removed.
4. To insert the flower joystick, snap the base of the flower onto the short post located next to the circle shape sorter slot. Once the bead pole is snapped into place it cannot be removed.
TO BEGIN PLAY
1. To turn the unit ON, slide the ON/OFF SWITCH to the ON ( ) position. Y ou will
hear "Come along learn with me. Find a shape!" followed by a short tune. The flower petals will flash with the sound.
2. To adjust the volume, slide the VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH located on the bottom of the unit to the ( ) position for LOW VOLUME or the ( ) position for HIGH VOLUME.
3. Insert the shape sorter pieces into the slots to select the mode of play. If none of the shapes are inserted the unit will automatically default to the letters and numbers mode. The four modes of play include the following:
Circle shape activates colors
Triangle shape activates letters and numbers
Square shape activates sounds
Star shape activates music

4. T o turn the unit OFF, slide the ON/OFF SWITCH

Note: To preserve battery life, the VTech® 2-in-1
Exploration Station™ will automatically
power-down after several minutes without input. The unit can be turned on again by pressing any button or by dropping a block into the basket.
ACTIVITIES
Color Mode:
1. Insert the CIRCLE SHAPE into the slot to activate the COLOR MODE. You will hear “I’m crazy about hue! Red-Purple-Blue-Green­Y ellow.” The corresponding flower petal will light up when the color is identified.
2. Turn the BUTTERFLY WINGS to hear “My wings are blue and yellow” or “My wings are yellow and blue.” The flower petals will flash with the sound.
3. Turn the TURNING WHEEL to hear a color related phrase. The flower petals will flash with the sound.
4. Press down on the LEAF to pop the frogs up the pole. You will hear “We’re red and purple...ribbit, ribbit.” The flower petals will flash with the sound.

5. Slide the TURTLE back and forth to hear “I’m a green turtle.” The flower petals will flash with the sound.

6. Press the GREEN POP-UP BUTTON to see the caterpillar pop out. Y ou will hear a boing sound effect followed by "Peek-a-boo, I see you!" The flower petals will flash with the sound.
7. Wiggle the FLOWER to hear “Roses are red, violets are blue.” The flower petals will light up with the movement of the joystick. When the joystick movement stops, the color of the last light-up petal will be identified.
8. Spin the BEE ROLLER BAR to hear “I’m a yellow bee.” The flower petals will flash with the sound.
9. Press the LIGHT-UP FLOWER PETAL BUTTONS to hear the colors of the buttons identified. The corresponding flower petal will light up.
10. Drop items into the BUCKET to hear one of five random color phrases. The flower petals will flash with the sound.

Letter & Number Mode:
1. Insert the TRIANGLE SHAPE into the slot to activate the LETTER & NUMBER MODE. You will hear “1-2-3-4-5, A-B-C-D-E, come along learn with me.” The corresponding flower petal will light up with the sound.
2. Turn the BUTTERFLY WINGS to hear “Two wings, one...two.” The flower petals will flash with the sound.
3. Turn the TURNING WHEEL to hear numbers and objects identified. The flower petals will flash with the sound.
4. Press down on the LEAF to pop the frogs up the pole. You will hear one of two fun phrases. The flower petals will flash with the sound.
5. Slide the TURTLE back and forth to hear “Count with me.” Continue sliding the turtle back and forth to hear him count to five. The corresponding flower petal will light up when the number is identified.

9. Press the FLOWER PETAL BUTTONS to hear the letters or numbers identified. The corresponding flower petal will light up.

10. Drop items into the bucket to hear it count. The corresponding number will light up when the numbers are identified.
11. Remove items from the bucket to hear random sound effects or short tunes. The flower petals will flash with the sound.

“One”
Sound Mode:
1. Insert the SQUARE SHAPE into the slot to activate the SOUND MODE. Y ou will hear a bird sound followed by "Listen", then a cricket and a buzzing sound. The flower petals will flash with the sound.
2. Turn the BUTTERFLY WINGS to hear an ascending or descending tune. The flower petals will flash with the sound.
3. Turn the TURNING WHEEL to hear nature sound effects. The flower petals will flash with the sound.
4. Press down on the LEAF to pop the frogs up the pole. Y ou will hear a ribbit sound effect. The flower petals will flash with the sound.
5. Slide the TURTLE back and forth to hear a boing sound effect. The flower petals will flash with the sound.
6. Press the GREEN POP-UP BUTTON to see the caterpillar pop out. Y ou will hear a boing sound effect. The flower petals will flash with the sound.
“Listen”

9. Press the LIGHT-UP FLOWER PETAL BUTTONS to hear sound effects related to the characters on the buttons. The corresponding flower petal will light up.
10. Drop items into the BUCKET to hear "Shhh...listen" or random nature sounds. The flower petals will flash with the sound.
11. Remove items from the BUCKET to hear "Shhh...listen" or random nature sounds. The flower petals will flash with the sound.

“Shh…listen”
Music Mode:
1. Insert the STAR SHAPE into the slot to activate the MUSIC MODE. You will hear a pre- programmed melody. The flower petals will flash with the sound.
2. Turn the BUTTERFLY WINGS to hear one of two pre-programmed melodies. The flower petals will flash with the sound.
3. Turn the TURNING WHEEL to hear one of three pre-programmed melodies. The flower petals will flash with the sound.
4. Press down on the LEAF to pop the frogs up the pole. You will hear a pre-programmed melody. The flower petals will flash with the sound.
5. Slide the TURTLE back and forth to hear a pre­programmed melody played one note at a time. The flower petals will flash with the sound.
6. Press the GREEN POP-UP BUTTON to see the caterpillar pop out and hear a pre­programmed melody. The flower petals will flash with the sound.

7. Wiggle the FLOWER to hear a pre-programmed melody. The flower petals will flash with the sound.
8. Spin the BEE ROLLER BAR to hear a pre­programmed melody. The flower petals will flash with the sound.
9. Press the LIGHT-UP FLOWER PETAL BUTTONS to hear individual music notes. The corresponding flower petal will light up.
10. Drop items into the BUCKET to hear a descending tune followed by a short tune or a pre-programmed melody. The flower petals will flash with the sound.
11. Remove items from the BUCKET to hear an ascending tune followed by short tune or a pre­programmed melody. The flower petals will flash with the sound.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
1. Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
2. Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat source.
3. Remove the batteries when the unit is not being used for an extended period of time.
4. Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit to moisture or water.
