Precautions

Location

Using the unit in the following locations can result in a malfunction.

Power supply

Please connect the designated AC adapter to an AC outlet of the correct volt­age. Do not connect it to an AC outlet of voltage other than that for which your
unit is intended.

Interference with other electrical devices

Radios and televisions placed nearby may experience reception interference.
Operate this unit at a suitable distance from radios and televisions.

Handling

To avoid breakage, do not apply excessive force to the switches or controls.

Care

If the exterior becomes dirty, wipe it with a clean, dry cloth. Do not use liquid

cleaners such as benzene or thinner, or cleaning compounds or ammable

polishes.

After reading this manual, please keep it for later reference.

Keeping foreign matter out of your equipment

Never set any container with liquid in it near this equipment. If liquid gets into

the equipment, it could cause a breakdown, re, or electrical shock. Be careful

not to let metal objects get into the equipment. If something does slip into the
equipment, unplug the AC adapter from the wall outlet. Then contact your nearest
VOX dealer or the store where the equipment was purchased.

Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the VOX MINI SUPERBEETLE guitar amplifier. To help
you get the most out of your new instrument, please read this manual carefully.

About Nutube

Nutube is a new vacuum tube developed by KORG INC and Noritake Itron
Corporation and that utilizes technology from vacuum fluorescent displays.
As with conventional vacuum tubes, the Nutube is constructed with an anode, grid
and filament, and operates as a complete triode tube. Furthermore, it generates the
response and the same rich harmonics characterist ic of conventional vacuum t ubes.

1. VOLUME knob: Controls the volume levels for the SPEAKER OUTPUT jack
and PHONES / LINE jack.

2. Power switch: When the sw itch is moved to the ON position, the amp turns on.

3. REVERB knob: This controls the level of reverb in your sound.

4. TREMOLO knob: This controls the speed of the Tremolo effect. Turn fully

counter-clockwise to turn off the effect.

5. BASS k nob: This controls the low frequencies in your sound.

6. TREBLE knob: This controls the high frequencies in your sound.

7. GAIN knob: This determines the sensitivity of the preamp. Increase the volume

and distortion by turning it clockwise or you can turn it anticlockwise for a
quieter, cleaner sound. The GAIN control should be used in conjunction with
the VOLUME to get the perfect balance between distort ion and output volume.

8. INPU T jack: Plug your guitar in here, en suring you use a shielded guitar cable.

9. PHONES / LINE jack: Use this jack if you want to output directly to a mixer
or a recording device, or when you want to use headphones. Output level is
adjusted with the VOLUME knob.

Both the IMPEDANCE and EQ switches do not affect the output from this jack.

When a plug is connected to this jack, no sound will be output from the

SPEAKER OUTPUT jack.

10. ECO switch: The Auto Power-Of f function ca n be disabled by moving t he switch
to the OFF position.

11. DC 19 V jack: Connect the included AC adapter here.

12. EQ switch: You can change the tonal character of the sound by this switch.

setting matches your speaker cabinet to ensure optimum sound quality.

14. SP EAKER OUT PUT jacks: Connect the speaker cable to this jack. The min imum
speaker ’s impedance is 4ohms, a nd you will get approx. 50W output with 4ohms,
25W with 8ohms, and 12.5W with 16ohms load. Connect the included speaker
cabinet to any of the jacks.

When two speaker cabinets are connected simultaneously, it is parallel

connection. Minimum load is 4 ohms in total. When connecting the two
speaker cabinets of the same load, please use a speaker cabinet of 8 ohms
or more each.

This is BTL (Bridge-Tied-Load) output. Th is means both tip and sleeve is the

signal line, and sleeve is not grounded. Only use this jack for connecting
speakers to the amp. Connecting anything else may result in damages to
the amp.

The VOX MINI SUPERBEETLE has a built-in protection system that prevents

damage should unusual circ umstances occur. If the sound cuts out for a few
seconds, don’t worry, this is the amp protecting itself and your speakers.
If you find this happens, simply reduce the volume on the amp slightly.

(This protection only occurs with 16Ω speakers. 8Ω and 4Ω speakers are

una ffected.)

Speaker Cabinet Section

The cabinet has been specially voiced and desig ned to get the most out of your VOX
MINI SUPERBEETLE. Just plug into the cabinet and you’ll hear what we mean!

Setup

1. Set the amp head on the frame top of the
speaker cabinet.

2. Turn the VOLUME knob on the amp head
to the minimum position.

3. Connect the supplied AC adapter to the
power cord. Insert the DC plug end into
the DC 19 V jack. Next, plug the power cord
into an AC outlet.

Be sure you’re using an AC power outlet of the correct voltage for your unit.
Use only the supplied AC adapter. Using any other AC adapter may cause

malfunctions.

4. Plug the cable that’s connected to your guitar into the INPUT jack.

5. Plug the speaker cable that ’s connected to the speaker cabine t into SPEAKER
OUTPUT jack.

Please make sure the amp is turned off when you connect the speaker

cabinet.

6. Turn the amp on, and slowly raise the VOLUME knob to adjust the volume.

Auto power-off function

The amp has an auto power-off function. With this func tion, the amp is automatically
turned off if there is no output for approximately 15 minutes. Switching the ECO
on enables the auto power-off function, whereas switching the ECO off disables
the function.
When the amp is turned off, it is not automatically turned back on. After the amp
is turned off, turn it on again or turn this switch off.

When the output level is extremely low or there is very little change in the

sound, the auto-power off function may be activated. In addition, depending
on the setting and environment, the amp may interpret noise as input, even if
the guitar is not being played.

À propos de Nutube

Nutube désigne une nouvelle lampe développée par KORG INC. et Noritake Itron Corporation,
et mettant à profit la technologie des afficheurs fluorescents.
Tout comme les lampes conventionnelles, la Nutube comporte une anode, une grille et un
filament, et fonctionne comme une triode à part entière. En outre, elle produit la réponse et
les mêmes riches harmoniques typiques des lampes conventionnelles.

1. Commande VOLUME: Règle le niveau du signal à la sortie enceinte (SPEAKER
OUTPUT) et à la sortie casque/ligne (PHONES / LINE).

2. Interrupteur d’alimentation: Mettez l’interrupteur en position ON pour mettre
l’amplificateur sous tension.

3. Commande REVERB: Contrôle le niveau de réverbération de votre son.

4. Commande TREMOLO: Contrôle la vitesse de l’effet trémolo. Tournez cet te commande

à fond à gauche pour couper l’effet.

5. Commande BASS: Contrôle les basses fréquences de votre son.

6. Commande TREBLE: Contrôle les hautes fréquences de votre son.

7. Commande GAIN: Contrôle la sensibilité du préampli. Tournez cette commande à

droite pour augmenter le volume et la distorsion ou tournez-la à gauche pour obtenir
un son plus clair et de volume moins élevé. Utilisez la commande GAIN en tandem
avec la commande VOLUME de sorte à obtenir un équilibre idéal entre distorsion et
volume.

8. Prise INPU T: Branchez votre guitare à cette prise, en veilla nt à utiliser un câble blindé

9. Prise PHONES / LINE: Permet de brancher l’ampli directement à une console de
mixage ou un enregistreur, ou encore de travailler au casque. Vous pouvez régler le
niveau de sortie avec la commande VOLUME.

Cette sortie est pontée (BTL ou encore Bridge-Tied-Load). Cela signifie que la

masse. Utilisez cette prise uniquement pour brancher des enceintes au MINI
SUPERBEETLE. La connexion de tout autre élément pourrait endommager le MINI
SUPERBEETLE.

Le MINI SUPER BEETLE est doté d’un système de protection évitant les dommages

en cas d’anomalie. Pas d’inquiétude donc si le son de l’ampli est coupé pendant
quelques secondes. C’est simplement le MINI SUPERBEETLE qui act ive son système
de protection pour éviter tout dommage et protéger vos haut-parleurs. Dans ce
cas, réduisez simplement légèrement le volume sur le MINI SUPERBEETLE. (Cette

protection est uniquement activée pour des haut-parleurs de 16Ω. Elle n’est pas
activée dans le cas de haut-parleurs de 8Ω et 4Ω.)

Section d’enceinte

Le son de ce enceinte a été spécialement conçu et fabriqué pour tirer le meilleur de votre MINI
SUPERBEETLE. Branchez le juste dans votre enceinte et vous verrez ce que je veux dire!!!

Préparatifs

1. Posez la tête d’ampli sur le cadre de montage sur le dessus de l’enceinte.

2. Réglez la commande VOLUME de l’ampli sur le
minimum.

3. Branchez le cordon d'alimentation fourni à
l’adaptateur secteur. Branchez la fiche CC de
l’adaptateur secteur à la pr ise DC 19 V de l’ampli.
Branchez ensuite la fiche secteur du cordon
d'alimentation à une prise de courant de tension
appropriée.

Veillez à ce que la prise de courant fournisse

bien un courant de tension compatible avec l’instrument.

Util isez uniquement le t ype d’adaptateur secteur spécifié. L’ut ilisation de tout autre

adaptateur secteur pourrait causer des dysfonctionnements.

4. Branchez le câble relié à votre guitare à la prise INPUT.

5. Branchez le câble relié à votre enceinte à la prise SPEAKER OUTPUT.

Veuillez vous assurer que l’ampli est éteint lorsque vous connectez l’enceinte.

6. Mettez l’ampli sous ten sion et réglez le volume en tour nant lentement la commande
VOLUME .

Fonction de coupure automatique de l’alimentation

Cet ampli est doté d’une fonction de coupure automatique de l’alimentation. L’alimentation
est automatiquement coupée si aucun signal n’est produit pendant environ 15 minutes.
Le commutateur ECO permet d’activer (ON) et de désactiver (OFF) la fonction de coupure
automatique de l’alimentation.
Une fois que l’alimentation de l’ampli est coupée par cette fonction, l’ampli ne se remet pas
de lui-même sous tension. Après que l’alimentation a été coupée par cette fonction, remettez
l’ampli sous tension ou placez le commutateur ECO sur la position OFF.

En présence d’un signal de sortie de niveau extrêmement bas ou d’un son qui ne change

pratiquement pas, la fonction de coupure automatique de l’alimentat ion pourrait s’activer.
En outre, selon le réglage et les conditions de jeu, il se pourrait que l’ampli identifie un
bruit présent comme un signal d’entrée, même si vous ne jouez pas sur votre guitare.

Nutube ist eine neue, von KORG INC. und Noritake Itron Corporation entwickelte
Elektronenröhre, welche die Technologie von Vakuum-Fluoreszenz-Displays.
Wie konventionelle Elektronenröh ren besteht die Nutube aus einer Anode, einem Gitter und
einer Glühkathode und arbeitet als vollwertige Triodenröhre. Somit bietet sie die Ansprache
und die gleichen satten Obertöne, die typisch für konventionelle Röhren sind.

1. VOLU ME -Reg ler: Regelt die Lautstärke der SPEAKER OUTPUT-Buchse und der
PHONES / LINE-Buchse.

3. REVERB-Regler: Hiermit regeln Sie den Halleffektanteil Ihres Sounds.

4. TREMOLO-Regler: Zur Regelung der Geschwi ndigkeit des Tremolo-Effekts. Drehen Sie

den Regler entgegen dem Uhrzeigersinn bis zum Anschlag, um den Effekt auszuscha lten.

5. BASS-Regler: Hiermit können die Bassfrequenzen angehoben und abgesenkt werden.

6. TREBLE-Regler: Hiermit können die Höhen angehoben und abgesenkt werden.

7. GAIN-Regler: Zur Regelung der Eingangsempfindlichkeit des Vorverstärkers. Durch

Drehen im Uhrzeigersinn erhöhen Sie Lautstärke und Verzerrung, durch Drehen
entgegen dem Uhrzeigersinn wird der Sound leiser und sauberer. Verwenden Sie den
GAIN-Regler immer zusammen mit dem VOLUME-Regler, um ein opt imales Verhältnis
zwischen Verzerrung und Ausgangslautstärke einzustellen.

8. INPUT-Buchse: Buchse zum Anschluss der Gitarre – verwenden Sie bitte ein
abgeschirmtes Gitarrenkabel.

Dieser Ausgang ist als BTL (Bridge-Tied Load bzw. Bridge Transless) ausgelegt. Das

heißt, Spitze und Hülse leiten das Sig nal, und die Hülse ist nicht geerdet. Verwenden
Sie diese Buchse nur, um Lautsprecher an den MINI SUPERBEETLE anzuschließen.
Der Anschluss anderer Geräte kann den MINI SUPERBEETLE beschädigen.

Der MINI SUPERBEETLE verfügt über eine integrierte Schutzschaltung, die

beim Auftreten ungewöhnlicher Umstände Schäden verhindert. Falls der Klang
einige Sekunden lang aussetzt, ist dies kein Anlass zur Sorge – dann schützt
der MINI SUPERBEETLE sich und Ihre Lautsprecher. Sollte dies vorkommen,
regeln Sie einfach die Lautstärke am MINI SUPERBEETLE leicht herunter. (Die

Schutzschaltung greift nur bei 16 Ω-Lautsprechern ein – nicht bei Lautsprechern
mit 8 Ω und 4 Ω.)

Diese Box wurde speziell abgest immt, um das Beste aus Ihrem MINI SUPERBEETLE zu holen.
Schließen Sie die Box einfach an und Sie hören, was wir meinen!

Inbetriebnahme

1. Stellen Sie das Topteil auf die Oberseite der Lautsprecherbox.

2.

Drehen Sie den VOLUME-Regler des Amps bi s zum
Anschlag herunter.

3. Schließen Sie das Netzteil ans Netzkabel an.
Schließen Sie den DC-Stecker an die DC 19
V-Buchse an. Schließen Sie nun den Netzstecker
an eine Steckdose an.

Achten Sie darauf, dass die Netzspannung mit

der Spannu ng übereinstimmt, fü r die das Garät
ausgelegt ist.

Verwenden Sie ausschließlich das hierfür vorgesehene Netzteil. Die Verwendung

eines anderen Netzteils kann Störungen verursachen.

4. Verbinden Sie das an Ihrer Gitarre angeschlossene Kabel mit der INPUT-Buchse.

5. Verbinden Sie da s an Ihrer Box a ngeschlossene Lautsprecherkabel mit der SPEAKER
OUTPUT-Buchse.

Bitte stellen Sie sicher, dass der Verstärker ausgeschaltet ist, wenn Sie den

Lautsprecher anschließen.

6. Schalten Sie den Verstärker ein und drehen Sie den VOLUME-Regler langsam auf,
um die Lautstärke einzustellen.

Energiesparfunktion

Der Verstärker besitzt eine Energiesparfunktion. Diese Funktion schaltet den Verstärker
automatisch aus, wenn ca. 15 Minuten lang kein Signal ausgegeben wird. Mit dem ECO

-Schalter können Sie die Energiesparfunktion aktivieren (ON) oder deaktivieren (OFF).

Schaltet die Energiesparfunktion den Verstärker aus, schaltet er sich nicht automatisc h wieder
ein. In diesem Fall müssen Sie ihn selbst einschalten oder den ECO-Schalter auf OFF stellen.

Bei extrem niedrigem Eingangspegel oder sehr geringen Änderungen im Sound kann

womöglich die Energiesparfunktion akt iviert werden. Zudem kann – je nach Einstellung
und Umgebung – der Amp Rauschen als Eingangssignal interpretieren, auch wenn die
Gitarre nicht gespielt wird.

Nutube es una nueva válvula desarrollada por KORG INC. y Noritake Itron Corporation que
utiliza la tecnología de las pantallas fluorescentes de vacío.
Al igual que las válvulas convencionales, Nutube se compone de ánodo, rejilla y filamento,
y funciona como una válvula de triodo completa. Además, su respuesta genera la misma
riqueza de armónicos característica de las válvulas convencionales.

Esta es una salida BTL (Bridge-Tied-Load) o también llamada “en puente”. Esto

significa que tanto la punta (tip) como el cuerpo (sleeve) del jack son la línea de
la señal, y el cuerpo no está conectado a tierra. Este jack se utiliza solamente para
conectar altavoces al MINI SUPERBEETLE. Si conecta cualquier otra cosa, puede
causar daños al MINI SUPERBEETLE.

El MINI SUPERBEETLE tiene un sistema interno que evita daños en caso de que

ocurran circun stancias anormales. Si el sonido se corta durante unos segundos, no
se preocupe, es el MINI SUPERBEETLE que se está protegiendo a sí mismo y a los
altavoces. Si esto sucede, simplemente reduzca ligeramente el volumen del MINI

SUPERBEETLE. (Esta protección solo ocurre con altavoces de 16 Ω. No afecta a
altavoces de 8 Ω ni de 4 Ω).

1. Mando VOLUME: controla los niveles de volumen del jack SPEAKER OUTPUT y del
jack PHONES / LINE.

2. Interruptor de encendido: cuando el interruptor de encendido se pone en la posición
ON, el amplificador se enciende.

3. Mando REVERB: Permite controlar el nivel de reverberación en el sonido.

4. Mando TREMOLO: Controla la velocidad del efecto de trémolo. Para desactivar el efecto,

gírelo completamente en la dirección contraria a las agujas del reloj.

5. Mando BASS: ajusta el nivel de graves.

6. Mando TREBLE: ajusta el nivel de agudos.

7. Mando GAIN: Determina la sensibilidad del prea mplificador. Para aumentar el volumen

y la distorsión, gírelo en la dirección de las agujas del reloj, y para obtener un sonido
más tranquilo y limpio, gírelo en la dirección contraria a las agujas del reloj. El mando
GAIN deber utilizarse conjuntamente con el ma ndo VOLUME para conseguir el balance
perfecto entre distorsión y volumen de salida.

8. Jack INPUT: aquí se conecta la guitarra. Es importante utilizar siempre un cable de
guitarra apantallado.

9. Jack PHONES / LINE: este jack se utiliza para enviar señal de salida directamente a
un mezclador o a un dispositivo de grabación, o para escuchar con unos auriculares. El
nivel de salida se ajusta con el mando VOLUME.

Los selectores IMPEDANCE y EQ no afectan a la salida de este jack.
Cuando se conecta un enchufe a esta toma, no se emitirá sonido desde la toma

SPEAKER OUTPUT.

10. Selector ECO: la f unción de apagado automático se puede desactivar poniendo el selector

14. Jack SPEAKER OUTPUT: en este jack se conecta el cable de altavoz. La impedancia de
altavoz mínima es de 4 ohms. La potencia de salida será aproximadamente 50 W con
una carga de 4 ohms, 25 W con 8 ohms y 12,5 W con 16 ohms. Conecte el gabinete de
bocinas incluido a cualquiera de los jacks.

Cuando se conectan dos bafles a la vez, es una conexión en pa ralelo. La carga mínima

ha de ser de 4 ohms en total. Cuando conecte dos bafles con la misma carga, utilice
bafles de 8 ohms o más cada uno.

Sección del gabinete del altavoz

Este gabinete se ha diseñado para sacarle el mejor partido a tu cabezal MINI SUPERBEETLE.
¡Simplemente conéctate al gabinete y sabrás lo que queremos decirte!

Configuración

1. Coloque el cabezal sobre el soporte de la parte superior del gabinete.

2. Gire el mando VOLUME del amplificador y
póngalo en la posición mínima.

3. Conecte el cable de corriente en el adaptador de C A
alterna incluido con el amplificador. Introduzca
el conector de corriente continua en la entrada de
alimentación DC 19 V. A continuación, enchufe el
cable de corriente a una toma de electricidad.

Asegúrese de utilizar una toma de corriente

eléctrica con el voltaje correcto para la unidad.

Función de apagado automático

El amplificador tiene una función de apagado automático. Con esta función, el amplificador
se apaga automáticamente si no hay salida de sonido durante aproximadamente 15 minutos.
La función se activa poniendo el selector ECO en la posición ON, y se desactiva poniéndolo
en la posición OFF.
Cuando el amplificador se apaga, no se vuelve a encender automáticamente. Después de
apagado, vuelva a encenderlo otra vez o ponga este selector en OFF.

Si el nivel de salida es extremadamente bajo o apenas hay cambios en el sonido, es posible

que se active la función de apagado automático. Además, dependiendo de los ajustes y
el entorno, el amplificador puede interpretar el ruido como una entrada, aunque no se
toque la guitarra.

Nutubeについて

Nutubeは、株式会社コルグとノリタケ伊勢電子株式会社が、蛍光表示管の技術を
応用して開発した新しい真空管です。Nutubeは従来の真空管と同じく、アノード・
グリッド・フィラメントの構造を持ち、完全な3極真空管として動作します。また
従来の真空管と同様、真空管特有の豊かな倍音やレスポンスを生み出します。

9. PHONES/LINE端子：ミキサーやレコーディング機器等へ直接出力するときや、
ヘッドホンを使用する場合にこの端子に接続します。出力レベルはＶＯＬＵＭＥノ
ブで調節します。

この出力には、IMPEDANCE、およびEQスイッチの効果はかかりません。

この端子に接続したときはSPEAKER OUTPUT端子からは出力されません。

14. SPEAKER OUTPUT端子：スピーカー・ケーブルを接続します。最小のスピー
カー・インピ ーダンス は4 Ωです。 4Ω時に最大50Ｗの出力が得られます。8Ω
では25Ｗ、16Ωでは12.5Ｗが得られます。付属スピーカー・キャビネット（ 8Ω）
をどちらか一方の端子に接続します。

スピーカー・キャビネットを2つ同時に接続すると並列に接続されます。この

ときの合計インピーダンスが4Ω以下にならないようご注意ください。2台同じ
ものを接続する場合は、それぞれ8Ω以上のスピーカー・キャビネットをご使用
ください。

出力はBTL接続（ステレオ・アンプの2つの出力をブリッジ接続してモノラル・

アンプとして使用する方法）です。これはスリーブ（シールド）がグラウンドで
は無く、信号ラインであることを意味します。この端子をスピーカー・キャビ
ネット以外に接続すると、本機の故障の原因となりますのでご注意ください。

本機は、パワー・アンプ部およびスピーカーへの過大入力を防ぐ保護回路を搭

載しています。16Ωスピーカーをご使用の場合、ごくまれに音が瞬間的に途切
れる場合がありますが、この保護回路が動作しているためで故障ではありませ
ん。この場合はVOLUMEを若干下げてご使用することをお勧めします(8Ωま
たは4Ωのスピーカーでは起こりません)。

スピーカー・キャビネット部

本機のスピーカー・キャビネットは、カスタムメイドの10インチ、8Ωのスピーカー
を1基搭載しており、本機の魅力を最大限に引き出すように設計されています。

セットアップ

1. スピーカー・キャビネットの上部フレームの
上にアンプ・ヘッドを設置します。

2. アンプ・ヘッドのVOLUMEノブを最小レベル
に設定します。

3. 付属のACアダプターに電源コードを取り付
け、ACアダプターをリア・パネルのDC 19 V
端子に接続してから、電源コードのプラグをコ
ンセントに接続します。

電源は必ずAC 100Vを使用してください。

ACアダプターは必ず付属のものをお使いください。他のACアダプターを使用

した場合、故障などの原因となります。

アース端子付きコンセントに接続する場合は

電源コードのプラグが三芯のためにコンセントに接続できない場合は、2P-3P
変換器を取り付けます。そして、コンセントのアース端子にアース線を接続し、
2P-3P変換器のプラグを差し込みます。

警告 アース接続は、コンセントにプラグを差し込む前に行ってください。また、アー

ス接続を外すときは、コンセントからプラグを抜いてから行ってください。

2P-3P変換器のアース線のU字端子にカバーが付いている場合は、カバーをは
ずして使用してください。

4． ギターに接続したケーブルをINPUT端子に接続します。

5. スピーカー・キャビネットに接続した付属スピーカー・ケーブルを、
SPEAKER OUTPUT端子に接続します。

接続は必ずアンプの電源を切った状態で行ってください。

6. 電源スイッチを/ONにして電源を入れ、VOLUMEノブを回して音量を調節し
ます。

オート･パワー・オフ機能

本機にはオート･パワー ･オフ機能が搭載されています。ECOスイッチがONの場
合は、音が出ていない状態が約15分続くと、自動的に電源が切れます。一度電源が
切れると自動復帰しません。電源を入れ直すか、ECOスイッチをOFFにしてくだ
さい。

入力音の音量や変化が極端に小さい場合は、“音が出ていない”とみなされる場

合があります。また、設定や環境によっては、ギターを弾いていなくてもノイズ
によって、“音が出ている”とみなされる場合があります。
