WARNING: To avoid the risk of serious injury when using your
Vitamix blender, basic safety precautions should be followed, in­cluding the following.
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS, SAFEGUARDS, AND WARNINGS BEFORE OPERATING BLENDER.
1. Read all instructions.
2. Do not use blender or accessories for other than intended use.
3. Not intended for use by or near children or persons with reduced
physical, sensory, or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children or incapacitated persons. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the blender.
4. Avoid contacting moving parts.

5. Do not operate any blender with a damaged cord or plug or after the
blender malfunctions, or is dropped or damaged in any manner. Call Vitamix Customer Service at 1.800.848.2649 or 1.440.235.4840 or email service@vitamix.com at once for examination, repair, replacement, or adjustment. If purchased outside the U.S.A. or Canada, contact your local Vitamix dealer.
6. Alteration or modification of any part of the blender, including the use
of any part or parts that are not genuine authorized Vitamix parts, may cause fire, electric shock, or injury and may void your warranty.
7. The use of attachments or accessories not expressly authorized or sold
by Vitamix for use with this blender, including canning jars, may cause fire, electric shock, or injury.
8. Do not use outdoors.
9. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter.
10. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.
11. Keep hands and utensils out of container while blending to reduce the
risk of severe injury to persons or damage to the blender. A rubber scraper or spatula may be used, but only when the Vitamix blender is not running.
12. Blades are sharp. Clean around the blade assembly in the container
with extreme care to avoid injury. To reduce the risk of injury, never place a blade assembly on the motor base unless assembled to the Vitamix container.
13. Care should be taken when handling the sharp cutting blades, emptying
the container and during cleaning.
14. Do not leave foreign objects, such as spoons, forks, knives, in the
container as this will damage the blades and other components when starting the machine and may cause injury.
15. Never attempt to operate with damaged blades.

This blender is intended for HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY and is not intended to be used for commercial purposes.
Do not leave your Vitamix blender unattended when operating. Any repair, servicing, or the replacement of parts must be performed
by Vitamix or an authorized service representative.
NOTICE: THE FAILURE TO FOLLOW ANY OF THE IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS AND THE IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR SAFE USE IS A MISUSE OF YOUR VITAMIX BLENDER THAT WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY AND CREATE RISK OF SERIOUS INJURY.

IMPORTANT!
DO NOT attempt to blend in the adapter without using the personal cup. The adapter is not intended to be used a blending container without the personal cup. There are cut outs in the adapter that will not allow liquid to be retained in the adapter if a cup is not used. If you have misplaced or need a replacement cup, contact Vitamix Customer Service to order a replacement.
DO NOT blend hot liquids in the adapter by itself or attempt to blend hot liquids in the 20 oz (0.6 L) personal cup.

Vitamix Motor Base
The adapter is for use on C and G Series Vitamix Motor Bases. Your machine might dier slightly from this illustration.
Seals
Two seals are supplied with your purchase. Refer to page 5 for more information about seals. (Dishwasher safe. DO NOT use in a microwave)

Seals
There are two seals supplied with your Personal Cup & Adapter. The seals are interchangeable and their uses are:
During the blend - place a seal on the thread on the adapter.
To travel - place a seal on the flip­top lid before attaching to the 20 ounce (0.6 L) personal cup.
The seals are used to avoid leaks and spills. If you experience leaking:
Make sure the seal is in place on the adapter before attaching it to the personal cup.
Thread the adapter onto the personal cup until it stops. Try to thread a little further to make sure it is tight.
Adapter Base
Ingredients
Cut ingredients into 1-inch pieces. DO NOT overfill.
Cubed ice blends better than crushed ice.

Add ingredients to the Personal Cup in the order they appear in the recipe, or follow the general guideline on page 6 when creating your own.
Operation
When starting your machine, hold at a low speed (1 or 2) for a few seconds until you see the blades “grab” or begin to process the ingredients.
Once ingredients begin circulating, increase to the speed recommended in the Vitamix recipe. Operating at a lower speed than suggested can cause the motor to overheat. Blend for the full processing time suggested in the recipe.

WARNING
Parts will become hot with extended use. DO NOT touch the drive socket in the motor base or
the drive spline in the adapter. To avoid damage or personal injury, DO NOT use the 20
ounce (0.6 L) personal cup (including the blade base or flip-top lid) in the microwave.
DO NOT blend hot liquids in the 20 ounce (0.6 L) personal cup.
DO NOT attempt to blend in the adapter without use of the personal cup.
This icon corresponds to suggested recipes for the 20 ounce (0.6 L) personal cup in Vitamix cookbooks.
1. To begin, put a seal on the bottom thread
of the adapter. The seal should fit snugly and evenly around the thread.
2. Load the 20 ounce (0.6 L) personal cup
according to the recipe.
3. Thread the adapter onto the 20 ounce
(0.6 L) personal cup in a clockwise direction just until tight. DO NOT overtighten or leaking can occur.
4. Invert the 20 ounce (0.6 L)

5. Follow the recipe to finish the blend.
6. Wait until the blades come to a complete stop
before removing the adapter from the motor base.
7. Invert the adapter.
