Capabilities Behind PABX’s or Key Systems

The PTC-6 “positive transfer control”
device is the perfect solution for operating
Centrex services from behind a PABX or
key system.

The PTC-6 provides a half second hook
flash to the Centrex line upon detecting a
programmable Touch Tone command (✱✱
or ##). This allows a PABX user to transfer
a caller or place an inbound caller on hold
at the Centrex.

The PTC-6 can also be used to disconnect other equipment such as paging amplifiers
and voice mail systems.

Operation

When it has been determined that a call must be transferred through the Centrex lines, the receiving party simply dials a
## or ✱✱ depending on the dip switch settings (see Dip Switch Settings above). The PTC-6 then performs a 500ms
hookswitch flash ahead of the PABX or key system allowing the user to dial the extension number for the transfer.
