Technical Data Sheet
Vibra-Tite® 995
RTV Clear Silicone
December 2012
Product Description
Vibra-TITE 995 is a multi-purpose silicone sealant is a non-slump, paste-like, one-component RTV designed for a wide variety of industrial sealing and adhesive applications. It cures at room temperature by reaction with moisture in the air to produce a durable, flexible silicone rubber. This sealant can be used in a number of diverse sealing and bonding applications such as space-filling rubber adhesive or formed-in-place gaskets. It has a broad serviceable temperature range. Cured material stays flexible for continuous use from –65°F (-53°C) to 450°F (232°C).
Technical Features
Resistant to sunlight, rain, sleet, snow, ultraviolet radiation, ozone and temperature extremes Retains design properties even after years of exposure – seals remain watertight and weatherproof.
Typical Applications
Vibra-TITE 995 is intended for use in general industrial sealing and bonding applications.
Limitations:
Not recommended for use in applications involving:
Structural silicone glazing Joints where physical abuse or abrasion is
likely to be encountered
Prolonged water immersion Porous surfaces, such as masonry Building materials that might bleed oils,
plasticizers or solvents – materials such as impregnated wood, oil-based caulks, green or partially vulcanized rubber gaskets or tapes
Totally confined spaces, because the sealant
requires atmospheric moisture for cure
Surfaces sensitive to corrosion by acetic acid
vapors (a byproduct of sealant cure)
Surfaces that will be painted (paint will not
stretch with the extensions of the sealant and may crack and peel); complete all painting prior to using sealant
Bonding to secondary seal of insulating
glass units sealed with two-part silicone sealants
This product is neither tested nor
represented as suitable for medical or pharmaceutical uses
