ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
1. Slide caster mount tubes into square tubes on the step
unit. Tab on caster mount tube should face away from the
deck of the step unit.
2. Assemble safety gate to the square tubes on the step
unit. One spacer goes on each side of bracket on the
safety gate. Slide 3/8-16 UNC x 2-1/4" bolt through tube,
spacer, bracket, spacer, and tube. Screw on 3/8-16 UNC
nylok nut on each bolt.
3. Screw 4" swivel casters into caster mount tubes.
4. Assemble rubber foot pads to step unit with 1/4-20 UNC
x 1-1/2" bolt and 1/4-20 UNC nylok nut. Offset on the
rubber foot pad should face away from the deck.
*FINGER TIGHTEN ALL BOLTS FROM
THIS STEP UNTIL INSTRUCTED TO
WRENCH TIGHTEN*
5. Slide lower handrail into round tube at the bottom of step
unit. Secure with 3/8 flat washer and 3/8-16 UNC x 1"
bolt.
6. Secure lower handrail to 3/4" pipe u-bolts. Attach with
1/4-20 UNC nuts and 1/4-20 UNC nylok nuts so that no
thread is left exposed.
10. Assemble 25-1/2" crossrail to the top of the upper
handrail (10" Deck Models) or the top of the extension
handle (20" Deck Models) with 3/8 lock washer and 3/816 UNC x 1" bolt.
11. Assemble back rail to base rail making sure that diagonal
cross pieces are in the opposite direction of each other
(form an "X").
12. With the step unit on its back (Safety Gate faces up),
unfold the back/base rail assembly so it lays flat. Slide the
base rail underneath step unit. Attaching the back rail to
the hole in the deck of the step unit with 5/8-11 UNC x 1"
bolt and 5//8-11 UNC nylok nut. Raise deck up and attach
base rail onto studs at the bottom of the step unit.
Attach with 5/8-11 UNC nylok nut.
13. Slide 10" solid rubber wheels onto axle of the back/
base rail assembly secure with 3/16 x 1-1/2" cotter pins
through holes in axle.
14. Carefully lower unit operating position.
15. Wrench tighten all bolts and nuts and check periodically
to be sure they are tight.
7. Slide upper handrail onto lower handrail and into round
tube at the top of the step unit. Secure with 3/8 flat
washer, 3/8 lock washer and 3/8-16 UNC x 1" bolt.
8. Repeat steps 1-7 for both sides.
9. (Step 9 - for 20" Deck Models Only) Slide extension
handles into round tube on deck. Secure to deck with
3/8 flat washer, 3/8 lock washer and 3/8-16 UNC x 1" bolt.
Secure to upper handrail with 3/8-16 UNC x 1" bolt and
3/8-16 UNC nylok nut.
