INTRODUZIONE
La ICAL S.p.A. e la Vertex Standard vi ringraziano per aver scelto WIRES II, l’innovativa interfaccia per le comunicazioni amatoriali via radio ed Internet. La sezione A.R.I. o l’OM che desidera ottenere l’identificativo per accedere alla rete mondiale VERTEX YAESU WIRES II deve completare il modulo riportato nella pagina seguente, poi inviarlo tramite fax alla ICAL S.p.A. Quest’ultima girerà la richiesta ai coordinatori Europa, entro 24 / 48 ore dalla ricezione fax sarà rilasciato l’identificativo. In questo manuale di descrive l’installazione e l’uso dei dispositivi e del programma WIRES II. WIRES II (estensione della copertura tramite ripetitori accessibili via Internet) è un protocollo che fa tran­sitare la voce su Internet, fino ai ripetitori visti in rete dal server. Per accedere ai ripetitori remoti si usano i toni DTMF generati dal proprio ricetrasmettitore, fisso o portatile. Una volta che si è stabilito l’aggancio, il segnale audio è ritrasmesso al ripetitore di destino (“nodo”) tramite Internet. Caratteristica esclusiva di questo sistema è la configurazione in “SRG” (gruppo di ripetitori “gemellati”), per comunicazioni punto-punto in una rete con fino 10 nodi e “FRG” (gruppo di ripetitori “amici”) che permette di interconnettere le migliaia di nodi WIRES II presenti nel mondo. Vi consigliamo di leggere a fondo questo manuale per poter installare senza incertezze WIRES II nel vostro sistema di ripetitori. Sarà una esperienza che accrescerà il vostro bagaglio tecnico nelle telecomunicazioni.

On behalf of our repeater group, I wish to apply for WIRES II Identity code, to be distributed by Vertex Standard/ Yaesu UK Ltd. I confirm that I have read and understand, and agree to the EULA for the Wires II software. I also undertake to supply and maintain the internet connection from the repeater location specified above and not to move or relocate the HRI-100 device without proper notification to Vertex Standard/Yaesu UK Ltd. I understand and agree that Vertex Standard/Yaesu UK Ltd may perform “remote updates” to system software installed on our WIRES™ computer.

IMPORTANT - READ CAREFULLY: This End-User License Agreement (“EULA” is a legal agreement between you (either an individual or a single entity) and Vertex Standard Co. Ltd. (Japan) (hereinafter referred to as “Vertex Standard”) for the WIRES™ computer software (“Software”). By indicating your agreement at the end of this document, or exercising your rights to make and use copies of the SOFTWARE, you agree to be bound by the terms of this EULA. If you do not agree to the terms of this EULA, you may not use the SOFTWARE. This EULA also includes the terms and conditions of your use of the internet -related services associated with the Software (the “Services”). The SOFTWARE is protected by copyright laws and international copyright treaties, as well as other intel­lectual property laws and treaties. The SOFTWARE is licensed, not sold.
GRANT OF LICENSE
Installation and Use. You may install and use one copy of the SOFTWARE on a single computer at a time. You may make archived or back up copies of this Software. You may not make any other copies of the Software. If you wish to use the Software on a different computer then you must first entirely delete the Software from the original computer on which it was installed. You cannot provide this Software to any other person, except as specifically provided below under “Software Transfer”.
OTHER RIGHTS AND LIMITATIONS
Limitations on Reverse Engineering, Decompilation, and Disassembly
You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software, except and only to the extent that such activity is expressly permitted by applicable law notwithstanding this limitation. You may not allow any­one else to do these things.
Software Transfer
You may permanently transfer all of your rights under this EULA, provided the recipient agrees to the terms of this EULA and provided the recipient provides the information required to obtain a service I.D. number. If you do permanently transfer all rights then you must permanently delete the SOFTWARE from the com­puter you use. You cannot sublicense anyone else to use this Software and the license granted here is nonex­clusive.
Markings
You may not remove any copyright or related notices.
Termination
Vertex Standard may terminate this EULA if you fail to comply with the terms and conditions of this EULA. In such event, you must destroy all copies of the Software.
No High Risk Operations.
You acknowledge that the Software is not intended for use in connection with any high risk of personal injury or strict liability activity (including, without limitation, air travel, space travel, fire fighting, police operations, power plant operation, military operations, rescue operations, hospital and medical operations) and that Vertex Standard makes no warranty and shall have no liability in connection with any use of the Software in such situations.
Not A Sale
Although some tangible items may be delivered to you this Agreement is primarily a license of intellectual property rights and not for the sale of goods, and not governed by the UCC.

Copyright and trademark
All title and copyrights in and to the Software (including but not limited to any data, images, audio, text, and other components), the accompanying printed materials, are owned by Vertex Standard. The Software is pro­tected by copyright laws and international treaty provisions, including U.S. federal criminal law. Vertex Standard and WIRES?are trademarks of Vertex Standard.
No warranties
Vertex Standard expressly disclaims any warranty for the Software and Services. The Software and Services and any related documentation are provided “AS IS” without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including, without limitation, the implied warranties or merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, secu­rity, or noninfringement. The entire risk arising out of use or performance of the Software and the Services remains with you.
COMMUNICATIONS FACILITIES
The Software is used to enable certain Services, that is, internet-mediated voice communications. These com­munications are routed through computers hosted by Vertex Standard in Japan (the “Servers”). The Servers are NOT protected by encryption or any other security technology. Accordingly, Vertex Standard makes no warranty of security, or that communications will not be intercepted by others. Because Internet-mediated communications rely on a wide variety of software and computers, Vertex Standard makes no warranty that any software, Servers, or Services, will meet your requirements, that the performance of any software, any Vertex Standard Servers or the Services will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error free; nor does Vertex Standard make any warranty as to the results that may be obtained from the use of the Software, or Services, or Vertex Standard Servers, or as to the accuracy or reliability of any information obtained through the Software, or Vertex Standard Servers; or that inaccuracies will be correct­ed. You acknowledge that any use of any data obtained by users or communications transmitted through the Software or Vertex Standard Servers is at your own discretion and risk, and that you will be solely responsi­ble for any damage resulting from use thereof.
Vertex Standard reserves the right to cease support for the Servers and the Services at any time, to remove the Servers from operation at any time and for any length of time, and to transfer the hosting, maintenance or ownership of the Services to a third party at anytime.
Vertex Standard collects information about you and your use of the Services, including data you will provide in order to obtain a sever I.D. number. All that information may be shared with third parties without notice to you.
INSPECTION OF YOUR COMPUTER
To update and monitor your use of the Services, to determine how the Software is performing, and to provide you with updates and better performance, Vertex Standard will, with no notice to you, routinely and remote­ly inspect and modify the files on the computer on which you installed the Software. Vertex Standard will have access to all data and applications on that computer, and Vertex Standard will operate that computer from time to time (to install patches and updates, for example). YOU SHOULD NOT LEAVE ANY CONFIDENTIAL OR PERSONAL FILES ON THE COMPUTER THAT CONTAINS THE VERTEX STANDARD SOFTWARE.
IMPROPER USE BY THIRD PARTIES
You, as the licensee of the Software, are responsible for others who use the Service. If Vertex Standard in its sole discretion determines that you, or any of the users of the Service, have abused the Service or otherwise engaged in any activity that violates any applicable law, rule or regulation, Vertex Standard reserves the right to disable the Service. If Vertex Standard does this, all internet-mediated communications associated with the Software will be disabled, including for some users who did not engage in the offending conduct.

LIMITATION OF REMEDIES AND DAMAGES
NOTWITHSTANDING ANYTHING IN THIS AGREEMENT TO THE CONTRARY, EXCEPT FOR DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY (IF SUCH EXCEPTION IS REQUIRED BY LAW), NONE OF VER­TEX STANDARD, ITS SUPPLIERS OR RESELLERS SHALL BE LIABLE OR OBLIGATED WITH RESPECT TO ANY SUBJECT MATTER OF THIS AGREEMENT OR UNDER CONTRACT, NEGLI­GENCE, STRICT LIABILITY OR ANY OTHER LEGAL OR EQUITABLE THEORY (I) FOR ANY AMOUNTS IN EXCESS IN THE AGGREGATE OF THE FEES ACTUALLY PAID TO VERTEX STAN­DARD BY YOU WITH RESPECT TO THE SOFTWARE (II) FOR ANY SPECIAL, PUNITIVE, INCI­DENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, FOR ANY COST OF PROCUREMENT OF SUBSTITUTE GOODS, TECHNOLOGY, SERVICES OR RIGHTS; FOR DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF GOOD WILL, WORK STOPPAGE, DATA LOSS, LOST PROFIT OR COM­PUTER FAILURE); (III) FOR INTERRUPTION OF USE OR LOSS OR CORRUPTION OF DATA (IV) FOR ANY FAILURE OF THE SOFTWARE TO PROVIDE SECURITY OR (V) FOR ANY MATTER BEYOND ITS REASONABLE CONTROL. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS AND EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
NO LIABILITY FOR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.
In no event shall Vertex Standard or its suppliers be liable for any damages whatsoever (including, without limitation, damages for loss of business profits, business interruption, loss of business information, or any other pecuniary loss) arising out of the use of or inability to use this product, even if Vertex Standard has been advised of the possibility of such damages. Because some states/jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages, the above limitation may not apply to you.
INDEMNIFICATION.
You shall indemnify and hold harmless Vertex Standard, its parent, affiliates and subsidiary entities, assignees, licensees and purchasers, and the officers, employees, and agents of all of them, against any suits, losses, lia­bilities, damages, claims, settlements, costs and expenses, including reasonable attorneys?and experts?fees (whether incurred as the result of a third party claim or a claim to enforce this indemnity), to the extent arising from: (i) any breach of this agreement by you; (ii) any violation of US Federal Communications Commission rules or regulations or related statutes, or any laws, by any person utilizing (1) the Software or (2) the Services.
EXPORT RESTRICTIONS
You shall not and shall not authorize any third-party to remove or export from the United States or authorize the export or re-export of any part of the Software or any direct product thereof: (i) into (or to a national or resident of ) Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Libya, North Korea, Sudan or Syria, (ii) to anyone on the U.S. Commerce Department? Table of Denial Orders or U.S. Treasury Department? list of Specially Designated Nationals or (iii) otherwise in violation of any restrictions, laws or regulations of any United States or foreign agency or authority. You agree to the foregoing and warrant that you are not located in, under the control of, or a nation­al or resident of any such prohibited country or on any such prohibited party list. The Software is restricted from being used for the design or development of nuclear, chemical, or biological weapons or missile tech­nology without the prior permission of the United States government.
MISCELLANEOUS
Neither this Agreement nor the License granted herein is assignable or transferable by you. No failure or delay in exercising any right hereunder will operate as a waiver thereof, nor will any partial exercise of any right or power hereunder preclude further exercise.

If any provision of this Agreement shall be adjudged to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that this Agreement shall otherwise remain in full force and effect and enforceable. This Agreement shall be deemed to have been made in, and shall be construed pursuant to the laws of the State of California and the United States without regard to conflicts of laws provisions thereof, and without regard to the United Nations Convention on the International Sale of Goods. Unless waived by Vertex Standard its sole discretion, the jurisdiction including personal jurisdiction and venue for actions related to the subject matter hereof shall be the California state and United States federal courts in the Central District of California. You will not contest venue and jurisdiction of such courts on any basis, including personal jurisdiction, venue, or the convenience of parties or witnesses. Any waivers or amendments shall be effective only if made in writing. This Agreement is the complete and exclusive statement of the mutual understanding of the parties and supersedes and cancels all previous writ­ten and oral agreements and communications as well as any different or additional terms of any subsequent purchase order, confirmation or similar form relating to the subject matter of this Agreement, unless mutual­ly agreed upon by the parties in writing. YOU AGREE THAT YOU HAVE NOT RELIED ON ANY PROMISES OR REPRESENTATIONS, NOT EXPRESSLY SET FORTH IN THIS AGREEMENT, TO MAKE THIS AGREEMENT.

NOTE SUI MODI OPERATIVI: SRG E FRG
Il formato di WIRES prevede due configurazioni base: SRG e FRG.
SRG
Con la configurazione SRG (gruppo di ripetitori “gemellati”) potete operare tramite WIRES II in una picco­la rete composta fino a 10 nodi, l’ideale per un gruppo chiuso d’utenti (come, ad esempio, tra città tra loro gemellate). Entro la rete tutti i nodi operano usando lo stesso elenco di ripetitori, quindi potete collegarvi solo con stazioni incluse in questa rete di 10 nodi. Questo limite permette di accedere ad un qualsiasi nodo invian­do in chiamata un solo tono DTMF. All’inizio di ogni singolo passaggio questo singolo tono DTMF blocca la comunicazione tra il nodo chiamante ed il nodo chiamato. Le trasmissioni locali sono comunque possibili omettendo il tono DTMF ad inizio trasmissione.
FRG
Con la configurazione FRG (gruppo di ripetitori “amici”), potete attivare qualsiasi ripetitore registrato nel server WIRES II FRG. In questo caso per accedere si deve inviare nel primo passaggio un codice DTMF a sei cifre, una volta stabilito l’aggancio, il codice non deve più essere inviato (modo definito bloccato “LOCK”) permanendo per tutto il periodo impostato come TOT, salvo che l’operatore preferisca il modo sbloccato “UNLOCK”, in questo caso il codice a 6 cifre DTMF deve essere inviato all’inizio di ogni pas­saggio (aiutandosi, ad esempio, con la funzione combinatore automatico, se prevista nel ricetrasmettitore). È anche possibile chiamare liste di 10 ripetitori pre-compilate “B”, “C” e “D”.

TERMINOGIA ADOTTATA NELLE FIGURE SETUP (IMPOSTAZIONE)
BUSY GROUND (cartella HRI-100)
Si riferisce alla polarità associata al segnale BUSY del ripetitore (è previsto “attivo-basso” o “attivo-alto”).
CALL OPTION (cartella Call Option)
Tramite questa cartella si imposta la tecnica di chiamata in modo WIRES II.
CALL CANCEL
Questi comandi rendono non validi certi toni DTMF ricevuti da un chiamante.
CALL CANCEL DELAY TIME (cartella HRI-100 SETUP)
Fintando che questo intervallo di tempo è trascorso dall’inizio trasmissione, tutti i toni associati agli interrut­tori CALL CANCEL sono invalidati. Esaurito questo ritardo si abilita il transito dei toni DTMF.
COM Port. No. (cartella General Setting)
Si determina a quale porta seriale del computer è connessa l’unità d’interfaccia HRI-100.
CONNECTION BEEP SELECTION (cartella General Setting)
Quando si stabilisce una connessione tramite Internet è riprodotto, come conferma acustica, dal computer il file”WAV” qui selezionato.
CONNECTION BEEP ENABLE/DISABLE (cartella General Setting)
Attiva / disattiva, la riproduzione audio file WAV a connessione stabilita, vedi sopra.
FRG GROUP DISPATCH (cartella Call Option)
Abilita / disabilita la possibilità di chiamare simultaneamente un gruppo di stazioni (fino a 10), come deter­minato nella procedura d’impostazione di WIRE II nel computer.
FRG GROUP LIST (cartella FRG GROUP LIST)
Questa cartella serve per impostare la lista di chiamata di gruppo in modo FRG. All’impostazione di WIRES II nel PC, si possono impostare tre liste: “B”, “C” e “D”, ognuna limitata ad un massimo di 10 stazioni.
FRG RECEIVE (cartella Call Option)
Questo comando abilita l’arrivo chiamata FRG dal server WIRES™.
FRG TRANSMIT (cartella Call Option)
Questo comando attiva / disattiva chiamate individuali in modo operativo FRG.
Cartella General Setting
Questa cartella è usata per configurare numerose impostazioni usate da WIRES II.
IDLE/NET (schermata principale WIRES-II)
È indicato lo stato della connessione via Internet. Quando il sistema è in attesa appare “IDLE”. Quando si stabilisce una connessione con un altro ripetitore WIRES-II appare in verde “NET”.
