PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The Aerospond HWXW Series and the TWXWXX wireless sensors monitor the
humidity and temperature, respectively, of the air inside a room. The HWXW series
has a temperature option to get both readings in one device. The sensors send
environmental readings over a standard building wireless (Wi-Fi) network. The
sensors can be integrated with the building controller using either a network wireless
gateway (Veris Aerospond NWGWA2), which converts data to either analog or digital
outputs, or with a JACE controller and driver (Veris AWB04) for direct integration.
QUICK INSTALL
1. Congure all devices in the wireless network using the Veris conguration
software, available at www.veris.com.
2. Ax the backplate on a vertical wall, about 4 ½ feet above the oor, away from
ventilation sources.

INSTALLATION
Observe precautions for handling static sensitive
devices to avoid damage to the circuitry that
is not covered under the factory warranty.
1. Before mounting this device, congure it to the wireless network using the Veris
conguration software. See the Software Conguration Guide, available at www.
veris.com.
2. Locate the tab at the top of the sensor housing. Using only the minimum required
force, press this tab down and pull the cover outward from the top. Set the cover
aside.

6. Install two 1.5 V AA lithium/iron disulde (3000 mAh minimum) into the back of
the sensor. This device was tested using the Energizer® Ultimate Lithium battery.
Batteries
CAUTION! Danger of explosion if battery is
incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same
or equivalent type. Dispose of used batteries
according to applicable environmental laws.
7. Install the sensor onto the backplate.
4. Mount vertically on the wall, 4 ½ feet above the oor. Locate away from windows,
vents, and other sources of draft. If possible, do not mount on an external wall, as
this might cause inaccurate temperature readings.
5. Mount the backplate onto the wall using the screws provided.
Five screwholes available; use a
minimum of two for secure mounting.
8. Optional: The sensor normally takes temperature/humidity readings once every
ve minutes. Upon commissioning or during troubleshooting, more frequent
readings may be necessary. Press and release the setup button on the front of the
sensor to increase the sampling rate to once every ve seconds for 360 readings
(30 minutes total). After 360 readings, the sampling rate returns to normal.
Optional: The sensor has a reset button that power cycles the device. All mapping
and conguration data are retained.

Optional: The sensor output signal includes a battery indicator. If desired,
the gateway can be congured to read this battery indicator and send it to
the building controller through its digital output contacts. See the Wireless
Conguration Guide for more information.
9. Replace the cover and snap it into position.
