Thank you for choosing Vello.
Congratulations on the purchase of your Vello IR-M infr ared remote control.
This versatile remote control lets you wirelessly take photos, zoom, and
is especially useful for preventing c amer a shake during long exposures and for
taking self-portraits. It can also be used to trigger a remote camera when
shooting events.

Before using your Vello IR- M infrared remote cont rol, please read the

Note: The 2S button will start shooting video on compatible Canon DSLR
cameras when in video mode, the T and W buttons will not work with
Olympus E-system cameras, and the W/T button will not work with Pentax
camera.
Using Your IR-M as a Remote Trigger
away. To use your IR-M as a remote trigger, turn on your camera and follow
these steps:
1. Remove the plastic separator from the bat tery.
2. Set up your shot and make sure your camera is in focus.
3. Set your camera for remote t riggering. For more information about the
remote triggering feature, consult your camera’s manual.
4. Aim t he remote at the camer a’s infrared sensor and press the S button to
release the shutter.
Depending on your camera’s manufacturer and model, you may be able to
tri
gger the shut ter with a two-second delay by pressing the 2S but ton. You
may also be able to zoom in and out by pressing the T and W buttons. For

supported features.
Impor tant!
Because infrared technology requires line- of-sight communication between
the two devices, make sure t here are no obstructions between the remote
and your camera’s sensor.
Replacing the Battery
The Vello IR-M is powered by a 3 V CR 2025 lithium battery. To replace the
batter y, follow these steps:
1. Push the tab in t he direction indicated by
the arrow in the illustration, and p
batter y tray out of the remote.
2. Remove the old battery and replace it wit h
a new one, making sure the side marked
with a plus sign (+) is facing up.
3. Push the batter y tray back into the remote so it lock s in place .
