2. Safety Instructions

Be very careful during the installation: touching live wires can cause life-threatening electroshocks.

Do not touch the device during operation as the housing he ats up.

Keep this devic e away from rain and moisture.

Unplug the mains lead before opening the housing.

• A qualified technician should install and service this device.

• Do n ot switch the device on immediately after it has been exposed to changes in temper ature. Protect the

devi ce against damage by leaving it switched off u n til it h as reac h ed roo m temper ature.

• Make sure that the available vol tag e do es not exc eed the voltage stated i n th e speci fications of thi s manual.

• Disconnect the device from the mains to clean it or when it is not in use. Handle the power cord by the plug only.

3. General Guidelines

Refer to the Velleman® Servi ce an d Qua lity Warran ty on the l ast pages of this man u al.

• This device is designed for professional use on stage, in discos, theatres, etc. The device should only be used indoors with an alternating voltage of 230VAC / 50Hz.

• Do no t shake the dev ic e. A void brute force when in s talling or operati ng the d evice.

• Sel ec t a location where the devic e i s protected ag ainst extreme heat (see "Te c hn ic al Specif ic atio n s"), dust

and moisture.

• Familiarise yourself with the functions of the device before actually using it. Do not allow operation by unqualified people. Any damage that may occur will most probably be due to unprofessional use of the device.

• Use the original packagin g if the device is to be transpor ted .

• All modi fications of the device are forbidd en for s afety reasons.

• Only use the device for its intended purpose. All other uses may lead to short circuits, burns, electroshocks,

crash, etc. Using the device in an unauthorised way will void the warranty.

4. Installation

• Have the device installed by a qualified person, respecting EN 6 0598-2-1 7 and a ll o ther applica ble norms.

• The installation must always be secured with a secondary attachment e.g. a safety cable.

• Never stand directl y below the d evi c e when i t is bein g mou n ted , remov ed or serviced. Have a qualified technician check the d evice once a year and once befor e you brin g it into s er vi c e.

• Install the device in a location with few passers-by that is inaccessible to unauthorised persons.

• Overhead mounting requires extensive experience: cal culating workload limits, determining the installation

material to be used… Have the material and the device itself checked regul arl y. Do not attempt to install the device yourself if you lack these qualifications as improper ins tallatio n m a y re s u lt in in ju ries.

• Befo r e moun ting make sure the install ation area can hold a mini mum poi n t load of 10 times the d evi c e' s weight.

• Make sure ther e is no flammable material wi thi n a 0.5m radi u s of the devi c e.

• Have a qual ifi ed electrician carry out the electric connection.

• Con nect the device to th e mains with the pow er plug. Do not connec t it to a dimmi ng pack.

• The installation has to be approved by an expert befo r e the device i s taken into service.

How to ins tal l : Choose an appropriate in stallation spot. Fi x each bracket ( at ± 15 5 0 mm apart) onto the wall or ceiling with the included screws using an appropriate screwdriver. Click the fluorescent tube into the brackets.

5. Use

Turn the device on or off with the ON/OFF button.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance

• All screws should be tightened an d fr ee of corrosion.

• The housing, visible parts, mounting supports and the installation location (e.g. ceiling, suspension,

trussing) should not b e deformed , modi fied or tampered with e. g. do not drill extra hol es in mounting supports, do not change the location of the connections.

• Moving mechanic parts must not show any signs of wear and tear.

• The electric power supply cables must not show any damage. Have a qualified technician maintain the

device.

• Disconnect the device from the mains prior to maintenance activities.

• Wipe the device regularly with a moist, lint-free cloth. Do not use a lcohol or solvents.

• There are no us er -serviceable parts.

• Con tac t your dealer for spar e parts if nec essar y.

2. Veiligheidsinstructies

3. Algemene richtlijnen

Raa dpleeg de Velleman® service- en kw alitei tsga r anti e achteraan deze handleiding.

• Dit toestel is ontworpen voor profes sio n eel g ebruik op podia, in dis co' s , enz. U mag dit toes tel enkel binnenshuis gebruiken met een wisselspanning van 230VAC / 50 Hz.

• Schud het toestel niet. Vermi jd brute kr ac h t tij dens de installatie of de bediening van het toestel.

• Installeer het toestel weg van extreme temperaturen (z ie "Technische specific aties"), voch t en stof.

• Leer eers t d e fun c ties van het toestel kenn en voor u het gaat geb ruiken. Ongesc hoold e personen mogen dit

toestel niet gebruiken. Meestal is bes chadi ging het gevolg van onp rofessioneel gebruik van het toestel.

• Gebrui k d e oors p ron kel ijke verpakking wanneer u het toestel vervoert.

• Om veili gheidsredenen mag u geen wi jzigingen aanb r en g en aan het to es tel.
