6. Installation
Warning: To prevent injury this apparatus must be securely attached in
accordance with the installation instructions. The installation should be carried
out by a qualified technician.
• Refer to the technical manual of the vehicle or experienced advice from qualified people when
determining the location of the device. Keep in mind that the system is powered by the same
leads that are used for the interior light.
• Use the mounting bracket [22] to determine the location of the mounting holes. Drill the 4
mounting holes. Note that the bracket will be secured using 4 tapping screws size Ø4x10mm
[23].
• Make sure there is no power on the leads from the interior light. Connect the power leads [25]
of the device with the power leads of the interior light, based on the overview below:

• Mount the device on the mounting bracket [22] with 4 mounting bolts size Ø5x6mm [24]. The
mounting holes are located under the display. Press on the ‘open LCD’ button [9] to move the
display in the ‘open’ position.
• Apply power to the device. Check by moving the dome light switch [17] to the on-position. The
dome lights should turn on. Moving the dome light switch [17] to the door-position will switch
on the dome lights when opening the doors of the vehicle. In the off-position, the dome lights
will always be off.
• When using an external input device e.g. a game console (not included), connect the composite
video (yellow), audio-left (white) and audio-right (red) of that device must be connected to the
video [18] and audio inputs [19][20] of the media player with an appropriate cable (not
included).
7. Compatible discs
• The multimedia player supports following types of discs (Ø12cm):
DVD/CD/CD-R/CD-RW/DVD-R/DVD-RW/DVD+R/DVD+RW
DO NOT play discs smaller than 12cm or odd shaped discs.
• The player uses the PAL/NTSC colour system. Other systems e.g. SECAM will not work.
• The region code for this player is set to 0 (zero).
• Refer to the table below for an (indicative) overview of disc formats and playing times. Note that
some DVD discs might have special requirements or settings which prevent them from being
played in this device. Refer to the specifications of those discs.

8. Disc loading
• Load one disc with the labelled side facing upwards into the disc loader slot [2]. Do not use
excessive force to avoid damage to disc and/or media player.
Do not touch the content side of a disc.
Do not stick any paper or stickers on a disc.
Do not use damaged discs e.g. bended, cracked, heavily scratched…
Do not use any kind of solvent, such as diluting agent, gasoline, liquid detergent, and
gasoline liquid detergent or antistatic aerosol used for vinyl for cleaning as these will cause
serious disc damage.
Keep discs away from direct sunlight or any heat source.
Finger prints and dust on the disc surface can affect the sound and picture quality. Clean
the discs regularly with a soft cotton cloth from the disc center to the outside of the disc.
Do not clean in circular motions.
• The multimedia player is a precision device. If the optical pick-up lens and disc drive parts
become dirty or worn down, picture quality will become poor. To obtain a clear picture, regular
inspection must be performed. It is recommended to perform maintenance after every 1,000
hours of use, depending on the operating environment.
• Once the disc is loaded, the unit will automatically start reading the disk and it will take a few
seconds to download the discs initial data. After initialization the disc type will be displayed in the
left upper corner of the LCD screen and the unit will start playing the disc.
9. System settings
• To enter the system settings menu, press the setup button on the remote control. The general
setup page opens. Use the arrow buttons on the remote control to scroll through the menu
items, and press the PLAY/PAUSE button (
) to select an item and store a selection.

Three screen ratio modes are available: 16:9 WIDE, 4:3LB (Letterbox) and 4:3PS (Pan Scan).
Depending on the inserted DVD, chose the appropriate ratio.
• ANGLE MARK
Set the angle mark to ON when viewing DVDs that support multi angle view features.
• OSD LANGUAGE
Choose English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch or Danish.
• CAPTIONS
Enable or disable subtitle display.
• SCREEN SAVER
Enable this function to prevent screen damage when player is not used for some time.
• LAST MEMORY
Memorize the last play time or not.

Selecting this item will display a new page with one option:
o FILTER
Set up the preferred audio mode for HDCDs. Select 1x for 48K sampling, 2x for 96K
sampling.

Selecting this item will display a new page with four options:
o SHARPNESS
Choose HIGH, MEDIUM or LOW.
o BRIGHTNESS
Pressing the right arrow button will open a new screen that visualizes the brightness
setting. Use the up and down buttons to increase resp. decrease the brightness.
Press the left arrow button to go back to the colour settings menu.
o CONTRAST
Pressing the right arrow button will open a new screen that visualizes the contrast
setting. Use the up and down buttons to increase resp. decrease the contrast. Press
the left arrow button to go back to the colour settings menu.
o GAMMA
Gamma refers to the relation between pixel value and brightness. Set to HIGH,
MEDIUM, LOW or NONE.

o HUE
Pressing the right arrow button will open a new screen that visualizes the hue setting.
Use the up and down buttons to increase resp. decrease the hue. Press the left
arrow button to go back to the colour settings menu.
o SATURATION
Pressing the right arrow button will open a new screen that visualizes the saturation
setting. Use the up and down buttons to increase resp. decrease the saturation.
Press the left arrow button to go back to the colour settings menu.
o LUMA DELAY
Set chrominance/luminance delay by selecting 0T or 1T, whichever suits best.
Sharpness, brightness, contrast and saturation can also be configured via the menu
button [15] on the display itself, or via the monitor menu button and CTRL buttons on the
remote control. Note that when using these alternative methods, only English descriptions
are available and shown on the display.
Preference page ( )
• TV TYPE
Set the TV type to PAL, MULTI or NTSC
PAL is commonly used in Europe while NTSC is commonly used in the USA and Japan.

Set the PBC to ON to enable track selection on discs that support this feature.

For discs featuring a rating system, an age control grade can be set. Refer to the table below for
an overview.
1 KID SAF Kid safe.
2 G Guidance advisable.
3 PG Parental Guidance suggested. Some material may not
be suitable for children.
4 PG 13 Parents strongly cautioned. Some material may be
inappropriate for children under 13.
5 PGR Parental Guidance – Restricted. Children under 17
require accompanying parent or adult guardian.

7 NC17 No one 17 and under admitted.

Enable or disable password protection.
• PASSWORD
Select CHANGE to set the password. Factory setting is 123456. Use the number buttons on the
remote control to enter the password.
DO NOT FORGET a newly set password, as there is no way to retrieve it!

• Use this option to exit the system setup screen.
10. Operation
Note that reference is made to the numbering as used in Figure 1 (see page 2). All functions can
also be accessed using the IR remote control (see Figure 5 on page 2). The remote control must not
be more than 3m away from the sensor [21] (distance might vary depending on ambient light
conditions) and within a viewing angle of 30°.
• Open the display by pushing on the Open LCD button [9] and load a disc (see §8).
Never apply pressure on the TFT screen. Do not scratch the surface of the screen as this
will cause irreversible damage and decreases image quality.
• To switch between PAL and NTSC, go to the PREFERENCE PAGE ( ) and select the
appropriate TV type. Refer to §9 system settings.

• When a disc is playing, press on the PLAY/PAUSE button [4] to suspend operation. Press again
to resume operation.
• Pressing the STOP button [5] once will stop playing a disc, but the position on disc is
memorized and playing will resume at the memorized position when the PLAY/PAUSE button
[4] is pressed.
• Pressing the STOP button [5] twice will completely stop the operation (position not memorized).
Note that the disc will keep spinning for about 4 minutes after the stop button is pressed.
• To select menu items in either the disc menu or setup menu, use the UP [14], DOWN [16],
PREV [6] or NEXT [7] or the arrow buttons on the remote control. Confirm/execute a selection
with the PLAY/PAUSE button [4].
• For discs containing an on-disc menu, access this menu by pressing the MENU button [15].
Note that the Play Back Control (PBC) must be on (see §9 preference page). Use the UP [14],
DOWN [16], PREV [6] or NEXT [7] or the arrow buttons on the remote control.
Confirm/execute a selection with the PLAY/PAUSE button [4]. It is also possible to use the
number buttons on the remote control to make a selection. Use the 10
numbers.
• Track selection of audio CDs can be done through the number buttons on the remote control.
• FFWD/REV:
Press the fast forward (

• REPEAT:
The function of the repeat button (on the remote control) depends on the disc data. When
playing DVD discs, pressing the repeat button once will repeat the current chapter, pressing it
twice will repeat the current title, pressing it 3 times will repeat everything and pressing it 4
times will exit repeat mode. For other discs, pressing the repeat button once will repeat the
current track, pressing it twice will repeat the whole disc and pressing it 3 times will exit repeat
mode.
For MP3/MPEG4 playback, there are five repeat-modes:
• SUBTITLE:
Press the SUBTITLE button until the desired language is shown. Note that this function depends
on the inserted disc and not all languages are available.
• DISPLAY:
Use the DISPLAY button to see playing and remaining time. For DVDs, pressing the DISPLAY
button once shows the elapsed time for the current title; pressing twice will show the remaining
time for the title. For CD discs, pressing DISPLAY once to show the currently played track,
pressing twice shows the remaining time for the current track, pressing a third time shows the
elapsed time for the current disc and a fourth time shows the elapsed time for the current
chapter.
• ZOOM:
Use the ZOOM button on the remote control to zoom in (x2, x3 or x4) or out (x1/2, x1/3 or
x1/4). Use the arrow buttons to move the zoomed image over the screen (panning).
• SLOW:
While playing, press the SLOW button on the remote control to play the video at lower speed.
Four speeds are available. Push until the speed returns to normal.

11. Head phones
• The media player comes with two wireless IR head phones.
• Push the button on the headphone to switch it on or off. A red LED indicated the status of the
headphone.
• Control the volume with the knob on the headphone. Always verify the volume setting before
using the headphones to avoid ear-damage.

12. Batteries
Remote control
• The remote control uses 1 battery type 3V lithium CR2025 battery (included)
• To (re)place the battery, press on the side of the battery cover [1] and pull [2] to slide it open.
• Insert the battery with the right polarity and close the battery compartment by pushing it back
into the housing of the remote control until it snaps into place.
Headphones
• Each headphone uses 2 x 1.5V AAA batteries (not included)
• Open the battery compartment by removing the battery cover and insert two AAA batteries with
the right polarity.
• Close the battery cover.
General
• Do not recharge batteries and do not throw in fire as they may explode.
WARNING: handle batteries with care, observe warnings on battery casing.
Dispose of batteries in accordance with local regulations.
Keep batteries away from children.

6. Installatie
Let op! Bevestig de dvd-speler volgens de instructies in deze handleiding om
kwetsuren te vermijden. Laat deze dvd-speler installeren door een geschoolde
technicus.
• Raadpleeg het instructieboekje van het voertuig of vraag raad aan een geschoolde technicus bij
het kiezen van een geschikte montageplaats. Houd rekening dat de dvd-speler gevoed wordt
door het circuit van het plafondlampje van het voertuig.
• Gebruik de montagebeugel [22] om de montagegaten te bepalen. Boor de 4 gaten. De beugel
wordt bevestigd door 4 zelftappende schroeven (Ø 4x10 mm) [23].
• Zorg ervoor dat het circuit niet onder stroom staat. Sluit de voedingskabel [25] aan het
voedingscircuit van het plafondlampje (zie tabel hieronder):

• Bevestig de dvd-speler op de montagebeugel [22] met behulp van 4 bouten (Ø 5x6 mm) [24].
De montagegaten bevinden zicht onder de display. Klap de dvd-speler open met knop [9].
• Zet de dvd-speler onder stroom en plaats de selectieschakelaar van het plafondlampje [17] op
on. De plafondlampjes lichten op. Plaats de selectieschakelaar van het plafondlampje [17] op
door om de lampjes enkel in te schakelen bij het openen van een deur. In de off-stand zijn de
lampjes uitgeschakeld.
• Sluit een extern toestel (bv. een spelconsole (niet meegeleverd)) aan door video (geel), audio-
links (wit) en audio-rechts (rood) van het externe toestel op de video- [18] en audio-ingangen
[19][20] van de dvd-speler aan te sluiten met behulp van een gepaste kabel (niet
meegeleverd).
7. Compatibele discs
• De dvd-speler ondersteunt volgende discformaten (Ø 12 cm):
DVD/CD/CD-R/CD-RW/DVD-R/DVD-RW/DVD+R/DVD+RW
Laad NOOIT discs kleiner dan 12 cm of niet-ronde discs.
• Deze dvd-speler ondersteunt PAL/NTSC. Andere systemen (bv. SECAM) zijn niet compatibel.
• De regiocode van deze speler is 0 (nul).
• Raadpleeg de tabel hieronder voor een overzicht van de discformaten en hun afspeelduur.
Sommige dvd’s zijn omwille van hun formattering niet afspeelbaar op deze dvd-speler.
Raadpleeg de specificaties van deze discs.
