6. Focal Length Selection and Focus
Adjustment

Notes:

We recommend adjusting the focal length and focus at an ambient
temperature between 0 and 40 °C.
Finish the adjustment as quickly as possible (max. 10 minutes) to
prevent that excess humidity builds up inside the camera, and the desiccant absorbs too much moisture and is unable to keep the camera dry.
Avoid adjusting in a high moisture environment. If this is not possible,
then finish the adjustment as quickly as possible.
To adjust focal length and focus, proceed as follows:
1. Open the front cover [8] of the camera by rotating it counter-clockwise.
Inside the camera, you see two handles to adjust the focal length [9] and focus [10].
2. Loosen the screw of the handle, rotate to adjust, then tighten the screw
again.
3. Find the fresh desiccant (incl.) and place it in the camera as shown in
the illustration [11].
4. Immediately place back the front cover of the camera and turn it clock-
wise to fasten it. Note: Make sure the front cover is fastened well to prevent moisture from entering the camera.
5. Slide the sun shield over the camera [12].

7. Installing the microSD Card

Caution:

The data on the microSD card will be deleted after inserting the card
into the camera.
The camera does not support hot swapping. Insert or remove the card
with the power disconnected.
Insert the card into the camera as shown in the illustration [13]. It is recommended to use tweezers for inserting or removing the card.

Power Supply using PoE (Power over Ethernet)

The camera features PoE (Power over Ethernet). If your router or hub supports PoE, you do not need to connect the camera to a power socket. You can then connect the camera as shown in illustration [X]:
1. Use a network cable [17] to connect your camera to a PoE port of your
router/hub [15].
2. Make sure your router/hub is connected to a power socket [18]. If your router/hub does not support PoE, you can use a PoE injector (not
included) to use the PoE feature. You can then connect the camera as shown in illustration [Y]. For connecting to a network video recorder (NVR), refer to illustration [Z].

9. Configuration with PC

1. For advanced camera configuration, make sure that your camera is
connected to a PC via the network. Refer to illustrations [X] and [Y].
2. Download and install the “IPscan.exe” program. You can download the
program from: http://www.surveillance-download.com/user/IPscan.zip
3. Run the program to scan for available devices.
4. Set your PC in the same network segment as the camera that you want
to configure. Example: 192.168.2.xxx (where xxx = 0-255).
5. Note down the IP address and port number of the camera. In this
example, the IP address is 192.168.2.1 and the port number is 88.

10.4 Port Forwarding

At this moment, you can only access the camera when connected to your own wireless network, not through the internet. This is because a home network is usually connected to the internet through a router. Only the router’s external IP address (assigned to you by your Internet Service Provider) can be seen on the internet. Moreover, the router will also block access to any device in your home network, including your camera. To bypass this, most routers support a mechanism called port forwarding that allows access from the internet to a device in the home network.
You can set up port forwarding as follows:
1. Open your web browser on your mobile device, and enter the
IP address of your router you wrote down in the address bar. Your router configuration page appears.
2. Go to the port forwarding (or virtual server) rule configuration page.
Note: The naming of port forwarding or virtual server may vary based
on the brand of your router. Refer to the user manual of your specific router for more information.
V. 01 – 13/06/2013 11 ©Velleman nv
CAMIP16
The example below shows the screen for a D-Link router: select the “Advanced” tab and then choose “Port Forwarding”.
3. Enter the camera IP address and port number that you noted down and
enable this rule. You can now access your camera through the internet.
4. If your wireless router supports UPnP (Universal Plug and Play), make
sure the function is enabled. UPnP enhances communication between the router and wireless devices. If necessary, refer to the manual of the router software.

10.5 Checking the Connection

When you have completed network setup and port forwarding, check your connection setup as follows:
1. On your mobile device, switch your network mode to 3G or connect to a
different wireless network than the one that has your camera connected.
2. Start EagleEyes and select the camera you just added to see if you can
access it.
o If yes, your network connection works. Proceed with “Changing the
Account User Name and Password below.
o If not, proceed with the following step.
3. Switch your network mode back to the wireless network that has your
camera connected.
4. Start EagleEyes, and add a new connection with the IP address and port
number that you set up in Adding Your Camera to the EagleEyes
App”.
5. See if you can access the camera with this connection.
o If yes, return to Port Forwardingto set up port forwarding again. o If not, return to step 4 of Adding Your Camera to the EagleEyes
Appand reconfigure the connection.

5. Schuif de zonnekap over de camera [12].

7. De microSD-kaart installeren

Opgelet:

Na het plaatsen van de kaart in de camera, worden alle gegevens op de
microSD-kaart gewist.
De camera ondersteunt geen hot swapping. Schakel de camera uit,
alvorens u de geheugenkaart plaatst of verwijdert.
Plaats de kaart in de camera. Zie afbeelding [13]. Gebruik een pincet om de kaart te plaatsen of te verwijderen.
