safety
precautions
This pressure washer/steamer is intended for household use
only and NOT for commercial or industrial use.
• This pressure washer/steamer is for outdoor use only. Always
keep the area you are cleaning well lit.
• It is your responsibility to check the suitability of the surface to
be cleaned. Vax UK Ltd cannot be held responsible for
damage caused.
• Keep ngers, hair and loose clothing from moving parts and
openings whilst using the pressure washer/steamer.
• When using your pressure washer/steamer (pressure washer
function) the recommended working distance between the
nozzle and surface area or object to be cleaned is 30cm.
• Never touch the steam jet from a short distance (there is a
risk of scalding).
• This appliance can only be used by children aged from 8
years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory
or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning
use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards
involved. Children should not play with the appliance. Cleaning
and user maintenance shall not be made by children without
supervision.
• Please refer to the surface manufacturer’s care
recommendations before use, and test your surfaces by
running the steam cleaner over a small hidden area, if no
damage occurs continue cleaning. Not suitable for use on
leather, wax polished surfaces, acrylic surfaces and synthetic,
velvet or steam/water sensitive materials - paint/outer of cars
or porous surfaces.
• Do not over saturate.
• Always wear suitable clothing footwear and eye protection
whilst using the pressure washer/steamer.
Do’s
• Always connect the water supply, remove the lance and
squeeze the trigger to run water through the machine
before switching the power on (pressure washer function).
• Always use a suitable hose connector to match the coupling
on the pressure washer/steamer with a non-return valve at
tap end of the supply hose.
• Always unplug the pressure washer/steamer before
cleaning or carrying out any maintenance.
• Always turn o and unplug the pressure washer/steamer
before disconnecting or connecting the hose/accessories
.After use always wrap the pressure hose and power cord
around the storage clips provided.
• Always release any built up pressure prior to disconnecting
the hose and ensure water inlet lter is clean prior to
storage in a cool dry place.
• Use only CE approved 13amp extension cords with RCD,
non-approved extension cords may overheat. Care should
be taken to arrange the extension cord as it could be a trip
hazard.
• Always make sure the power/extension cord is fully
unwound and prevent the power/extension cord from
getting wet during use.
• Always replace the fuse in the plug with a British 13amp
fuse. Always protect the power cable from heated surfaces
or near open ames.
• Always carry the pressure washer/steamer by the handle.
• Always check water hose and accessories are not damaged,
broken or worn before use.
• Always ll the water tank with water only, never add
perfume, and stain removers or products containing alcohol.
Don’ts
This steam cleaner should not be used to clean electrical
appliances. Always remove the mains plug from the socket
and allow the steam cleaner to cool down completely before
topping up with water
• Don’t leave the pressure washer/steamer unattended or
running when not in use for more than 5 minutes without
depressing the trigger.
• Don’t use this pressure washer/steamer if it has been
dropped, damaged or immersed in water.
• Don’t use pressure washer/steamer if the power cord or plug
is damaged. Please contact our Customer Care Line on:

• Don’t handle the plug of the pressure washer/steamer
with wet hands.
• Don’t use the pressure washer/steamer without supply hose
(minimum length 7.5m) in place and unwind the hose fully
from reel.
• Don’t use the pressure washer/steamer without the water
lter in place.
• Don’t pull or carry this pressure washer/steamer by the power
cord. Don’t use the power cord as a handle, pull the power
cord around corners or sharp edges or close a door over the
power cord. Don’t unplug pressure washer/steamer by pulling
on the power cord.
• Don’t aim the pressure washer jet or steam jet at people,
animals, plants, electrical components, wires, or the pressure
washer/steamer itself. Never touch the pressure/steam jets
(there is a risk of injury/scalding).
• Don’t use the pressure washer/steamer on electrical components, damaged/
delicate paint surfaces, tyres, engines/motors.
• Don’t use the pressure washer/steamer with incorrect voltage as this may
result in damage or injury to the user. The correct voltage is listed on the
rating label.
• Don’t touch any hot areas/accessories on the steam cleaner. It’s normal for
the steam cleaner and accessories to heat up during use, always allow them
to cool down before handling or changing.
• Don’t over ll the clean water tank or exceed the maximum amount
required as the steam cleaner will deliver water droplets or very little steam.

PLEASE READ ‘LET’S TALK SAFETY’ AT THE BEGINNING BEFORE USE
CAUTION: Always make sure the trigger safety lock is in the ‘locked’ position when not in use or
connecting/disconnecting the pressure hose. Always check water hose, pressure hose, lance and nozzle
are not damaged, broken or worn before use.
CAUTION: The pressure washer/steamer is equipped with a thermal cut-out. If for any reason the pressure
washer/steamer does overheat the device will automatically turn the unit o. If this happens switch the
pressure washer/steamer o and unplug from the mains. Remove the lance, nozzle and lter and check for
blockages. Allow the pressure washer/steamer to cool down for approximately 4 hours.
Preparing your pressure washer/steamer
Getting started
Push the pressure hose connector
rmly into the water outlet and turn
the pressure hose collar clockwise
until tight.
Press the pressure hose release button
located on the side of the trigger
handle. Holding the button down,
push the pressure hose into the hose
connection underneath the button.
A trigger safety lock is located underneath
the handle. The safety lock should always
be in LOCKED position before connecting/
disconnecting the pressure hose to the
trigger handle.
Release the button, continue to rmly push
the pressure hose into the trigger handle.
The release button will pop out when the
pressure hose is correctly tted. Gently
pull the pressure hose to make sure it is
securely locked.
Using your machine
IMPORTANT: Always use an RCD (Residual Current Device) adaptor when using the pressure washer.
CAUTION: Never aim the high pressured water jet at people, animals, plants, electrical components,
wires or the pressure washer/steamer itself.
Make sure the water supply is not on.
Firmly push the water hose pipe with
suitable connector onto the water
inlet, lock into place.
Before plugging the pressure washer/
steamer into the mains supply, press
the safety button on the trigger handle
to ‘unlock’ and squeeze the trigger
until water starts to ow through
the nozzle.
Connect the water hose pipe to a
suitable water supply and turn the
water on.
‘Lock’ the safety button on the trigger
handle. Firmly push the lance into
trigger handle, turning clockwise
until locked into place.
After connecting pressure hose, lance and accessories check they are securely tted and
locked into place before switching the pressure washer/steamer on.
TIP
Using your machine
Choose an accessory nozzle. Firmly
push nozzle into the lance until it
clicks and locks into place. Gently pull
the nozzle to make sure it is locked
and secure before use.
Push the On/O switch to ‘I’ position
to switch on. The machine will run for
a few seconds then stop, no water will
be released.
Connect the power cord to the mains
supply via the RCD adaptor.
Squeeze the trigger on the trigger handle to release a
high pressured water jet.
Using your machine
IMPORTANT: The lance and accessory nozzle must be attached to the trigger handle for pressurised
water to be produced.
CAUTION: Always make sure the pressure washer/steamer is switched o and the safety button on the
trigger handle is in the locked position before connecting/disconnecting the lance, nozzles or accessories.
Using your accessories
Firmly push the chosen accessory
nozzle into the lance until it clicks and
locks into place. Gently pull the nozzle
to make sure it is locked and secure
before use.
Jet nozzle (Orange nib)
The jet nozzle has a wider spray and
is ideal on surfaces such as cars,
garden furniture, decking and boats.
Turbo nozzle
The turbo nozzle has a more
concentrated spray and is ideal for
use on very dirty surfaces, patios or
masonry. It is not suitable for use on
delicate or painted surfaces.
Using solution with your pressure washer/steamer
Unhook the solution tube and insert
into solution bag. Always make sure
the solution tube is fully submerged
into the solution/water mix inside the
solution bag.
IMPORTANT: When using solution only use Vax solution and make sure you follow the dilution instructions.
Solution can only be dispensed when low pressure accessories such as the solution nozzle, (brush and rotary brush
is attached – (supplied with certain models only). Solution cannot be used with jet or turbo nozzles.
Attach the solution nozzle
(white/black nib) to lance, making
sure it is locked and secure
before use.
After using solution, rinse fresh water
through your pressure washer/steamer
to prevent blockages. Insert the solution
tube into a bucket of fresh water (Max
40˚C), turn the pressure washer/steamer
on and squeeze the trigger for 1 minute.

your ooring by running the steamer over a small hidden area if no damage occurs continue cleaning. The steam
cleaner should not be used to clean electrical appliances, electrical heating systems, oven surfaces or grills when
hot etc.
Excessive temperature dierences between the glass window and the steam can break the window, Do not use with
extreme outside temperatures to avoid stressing the glass surface.
Using the steam cleaner
A trigger safety lock is located
underneath the steamer handle.
The safety lock should always be in

Don’t hold the trigger continuously to
prevent over wetting.
Allow 1 minute for the steamer to
warm up.

IMPORTANT: If using the pressure washer/steamer with water from a water butt, the water lter will require more
frequent cleaning.
Cleaning water lter
Unscrew and remove water inlet
connector.
Rinse water lter to remove any dirt
or debris.
Using pliers gently pinch and pull the
inner water lter tab and remove.
Taking care of your machine
IMPORTANT: Before storing your pressure washer/steamer always make sure no water remains in the pressure
washer/steamer, hose, lance, nozzle and water tank. Once the pressure washer/steamer is switched o and before
removing the lance, nozzle or trigger handle always squeeze the trigger until no further water is released, to prevent
frost damage. Keep in a dry place above zero degrees and out of the reach of children.
Storing your pressure washer/steamer
Squeeze the trigger on the steamer
handle until the water tank is
completely empty.
To release pressure hose, press the
pressure hose release button and pull
pressure hose to remove.
Before removing pressure hose, lance and nozzle always squeeze trigger until water stops
releasing pressure build up.
TIP
To remove the nozzle from the lance,
press the nozzle release button on

Always store tools, power cord and

storage slots.

Why won’t my pressure
washer/steamer turn on?
Why won’t the pressure

• Make sure the On/O switch is set to the

• If the trigger has not been squeezed the pressure washer/steamer
will be silent, to activate squeeze the trigger handle (pressure
washer function).
• The plug may not be fully pushed into the electrical socket.
• Check the fuse in the plug if this needs replacing, always replace
with a British 13amp fuse.
• Check the RCD has not been tripped.
• The thermal protector may have tripped. If this happens switch the
pressure washer/steamer o and unplug from the mains.
• Remove the lance, nozzle and lter and check for blockages.

• Remove the steam tool and check for blockage (steamer function)
Allow the pressure washer/steamer to cool down for

What to do if it goes wrong
• Lance and nozzle not attached. The lance and nozzle must be
attached to the trigger handle for pressurised water to be produced.
• Hose may be blocked or kinked, check for leaks in the hose and clear

supply tube from the tank without air bubbles. If there is a bubble air
locking the pipe then squeeze the pipe towards the tank to remove it.
• Check the assembly of the water supply tube into the water tank. Go
