How to use attachments
Adjusting the combination floor tool for carpets & hard floors

the rocker switch to lower it (fig.3).

Operating your cleaner (for dry vacuuming)
Your VO-4000 vacuum cleaner can be used with either a disposable paper dustbag or with the re-usable bagless filter.
All the accessories can be used whilst dry vacuuming.
Important
- Ensure that either a paper dust bag or the re-useable bagless filter is in place before starting the appliance.
- Ensure all parts of the appliance are thoroughly dry before use.

- Ensure the paper dust bag or the re-useable bagless filter is removed.
- Ensure there is no remaining water in the hose and tubes before switching off the appliance.
- Ensure that the black foam motor protection filter is always in place (also see Fig.18).

Cleaning the filter
Motor protection filter
Fig. 17 The filter is located on the underside of the VO-4000 top section as shown protects the motor from dust and
debris. This filter can be lightly swilled under cold water to remove any debris. Ensure this is completely dry before replacing.
Attention: Do not use the vacuum cleaner without the motor protection filter in place.

Important notes/ troubleshooting
1) If the suction is significantly reduced, the filter may require cleaning.
2) During wet vacuuming, if the float rises and blocks suction, you will notice the change in the sound that the machine makes. This is a safety feature and is intended to prevent continued use when the recovery tank is full of liquid. Switch off the appliance, empty the liquid, re-assemble and then restart. If the float still rises and blocks off suction, the motor protection filter may be clogged, switch off and refer to fig 18.
3) If the appliance overturns, the float will block the suction. Turn off the appliance, place in correct position and wait until the float resets. Restart the appliance.

Important safety information
Do not use the dry vacuuming accessories whilst vacuuming water.
Always remove the re-useable bagless filter/paper dust bag before wet vacuuming.
Do not dry vacuum without the re-useable bagless filter or paper dust bag in place.
Ensure that all accessories, filters and foam motor protection filter are thoroughly dry before dry vacuuming.
The plug must be removed from socket outlet before cleaning or maintaining the appliance.
If the mains cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified
persons in order to avoid a hazard.

Do not use the appliance with a damaged mains cable or plug.
Do not use the appliance if it has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors or dropped in water.
Never pull the appliance by the mains cable.
Do not pull on the cable to disconnect the appliance from the mains supply. Always use the plug.
Keep the mains cable and appliance away from sources of heat.
Do not handle the mains cable, plug or appliance with wet hands.
Ensure that no foreign bodies can get into the openings of the appliance.
Do not use the appliance if the openings are blocked. Keep them free from dust, fluff, hair and any other material
that might cause a restriction of the air flow.
Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers and any other parts of the body away from any moving parts.
Do not pick up burning or smoking objects such as cigarettes, matches or hot ashes.
Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids such as petrol, or use in areas where they may be present.
Do not change accessories while the appliance is operating.
Do not use without motor protection filter in place.
Always store the appliance indoors. To avoid accidents, put the appliance away safely after use.
