2.1 Usage
2.1.1 Intended use
Intended use
A diaphragm pump of the Mx 1x VARIO select product series is
a vacuum system consisting of a vacuum pump, controller and
sensor to create and control rough vacuum in designated systems,
atmosphere.
Intended use also includes:
observing the information in the document Safety information for
vacuum equipment,
observing the manual,
observing the manual of connected components,
observing the inspection and maintenance intervals and having
using only approved accessories or spare parts.
Any other use is considered improper use.

Improper use
Incorrect use or any application which does not correspond to the
technical data may result in injury or damage to property.
Improper use includes:
using the product contrary to its intended use,
by the company,
operation under inadmissible environmental and operating condi
tions,
operation despite obvious faults or defective safety devices,
unauthorized extensions or conversions, in particular when these
impair safety,
usage despite incomplete assembly,
Foreseeable misuse
2.1.3 Foreseeable misuse
In addition to improper use, there are types of use which are pro
hibited when handling the product:
Prohibited types of use are, in particular:
use on humans or animals,
installation and operation in potentially explosive atmospheres,

Possible protective measures, depending on the application:
Flush the vacuum pump with inert gas or air before changing

Use inert gas to dilute critical mixtures.
Prevent the release of hazardous, toxic, explosive, corrosive
