Introduction
The NCV1 is a convenient pocket-size multifunction tester, which combines latest digital technology with advanced powerful intelligent sensor enable it to distinguish high/low AC voltage.
• Non-contact AC voltage test: from 70-600 V AC (with auto hi/low sensitive indication)
• DC voltage/polarity check: 1.5 V - 36 V DC
• Continuity check: 0 - 80 M
• Flash light
Safety Notes
• The tester should not be used to test voltages above the stated rated voltage.
• Operating temperature within -10˚ to +50˚C (14˚ to 122˚F) and the frequency range from 50 to 500 Hz. Best environmental temperature range up to 30˚C, humidity 80% at altitude up to 2,000 meter.
• The tester must be tested on a known voltage source to make sure it is operating properly.
• The tester must not be used in the presence of moisture, (e.g. dew or rain).
• Damaged tester must not be used.
• Static electricity may be generated by rubbing the "BODY" of the tester (when pressing the switch) thus causing LED blinks, this is NORMAL.
• The flashlight always lights up when pressing the switch, this is NORMAL.
• In case of doubt, please consult a qualified technician.
Self-Test Function
Prior to use, it is necessary to perform a self-test to ensure guaranteed indication. Press the switch down and touch the "TEST PIN" by other free hand.
Both LED lights up and buzzer sounds indicating "NORMAL FUNCTIONING".
Non-Contact AC Voltage Testing
Press the switch when testing.
Identifying polarity of AC voltage of the wire
To locate "LIVE/HOT" side of the wire, hold/grip the wire with your free hand and gently "TRACE" inward.
Broken wire/fault finding "FAULT/BREAK" point in the "LIVE/HOT" wire is indicated by an
interruption in sound and light (LED(2)).
Proper connection check
Move the tester close to the hair dryer with the power OFF. The buzzer comes ON when the plug is inserted improperly, or if the "LIVE/HOT" wire is improperly connected to the plug.
Ground/Earthing check
Move the tester close to the fan, toaster, electric kettle, dryer machine, microwave oven, etc.. The buzzer comes ON if the "GROUND/EARTHING" is not connected in the wiring.

NOTE:
1. To Reduce Sensitivity
If sensitivity is too high, hold/grip the wire and "TRACE" inward for accurate results.
2. High Sensitive Sense
For more sensitive detection, face "FLAT BOTTOM SIDE" (near the "TIP") towards the AC voltage.
3. Low Sensitive Sense
For lower sensitive detection, face "TIP" side towards the AC voltage.
4. Due to auto High/Low sense feature, LED(2) glows steady when AC signals are stronger. When the tester approaches near the AC Voltage LED(2) starts blinking, buzzer tone changes.
5. Static electricity may be generated by rubbing the plastic
housing thus cause false indication(LED blinks).
6. The sensitivity may be reduced under high humidity environments.
7. Testing through the wire should be unshielded and must
connect to AC voltage.
8. Wires inside concrete walls or metal conduit can not be detected.

DC Voltage/Polarity Check
(1.5V ~ 36VDC)
WARNING!
Be sure to disconnect any AC mains or high voltage!
Press the switch when testing.
Touch the "TEST PIN" with "POSITIVE" (+) side, and be sure that the free hand touches the other "NEGATIVE" (-) side.
Continuity Check
WARNING!
Be sure to disconnect any AC mains or high voltage!
Press the switch when testing.
Press test switch then contact one side of the object to the "TEST PIN" and the other side of the object with your free hand. The NCV1 will easily identify "GOOD" or "BAD" fuses, bulbs, heating elements, wiring etc., and it can also check/identify resistor, coils, etc.
