The Universal Electronics Millennium™ 3 is our latest
generation universal remote control.It is designed to
operate all ofthe features of your cable converter and
only the most-used features of your TV (e.g.,Volume
Up/Down) and VCR (e.g.,Play,Stop,Fast Forward,
Rewind,Pause,and TV/VCR Select).Moreover,the
Millennium 3 is packed with easy-to-use features such as:
• Preprogrammed codes to operate the cable converter
supplied by your cable system provider
• Preprogrammed technology for easy setup
• Color-co ded keys to quickly locate popular func tions
• Cable ID Lock to lock your remote control for use only
with the cable converter
• Code Search to help program control ofolder or
disconti nu ed components
• Option key for assigning your favorite channels
• Shift key for access to cable Video On Demand (VOD)
features and TV channel changing capability
Before you can use your new remote control,you will
need to program it to operate the specific home entertainment components you wish to control.Follow the
instructions detailed in this manual to set up your
Millennium 3 and enjoy your new remote control.

FEATURES AND FUNCTIONS
Use the illustration below to locate Millennium 3 features
and then study the Key Charts (on the next two pages) to
learn how they function.

Key Charts
The LED (red light) blinks to show that
the remote control is working and is
sending signals.
Press VCR,TV,or CBL once to turn on
or off a se lected component.
Use SETUP for all programming
sequences.
Use the keypad (0 ~ 9) to direct ly select
channels (e.g.,09 or 31).
Press MUTE once to turn sound off
or on.
Press ENTER once after enteri ng channel
numbers on some TV models.
Use volume + (or volume -) to raise (or
lower) the sound volume.
Use CH + (or CH -) to select the next higher
(or lower) channel.
Press LASTonce to recall the last channel
and to page back one screen in the
main menu.
Use FAV to cycle through your favorite
channels that are stored in your cable
converter.
Use GUIDE to display the program guide.
Press PPV/LOCK once to display the pay
per view menu or to lock out a specific
channel on your cable converter.
Use EXIT to exit out of your cable
converter’s menu and guide.
Use cursor keys to move the cursor in
the program guide and menu screens.

1.On the back ofthe Millennium 3,push the tab
and lift off the battery cover.
2.Obtain two (2) fully-charged AA alkaline bat-
teries.Match the + and – marks on the batteries to the + and – marks in the battery case,
then insert the new batteries.
3.Press the battery cover back into place.The tab
should click when the cover is locked.
4.Test the unit by any mode key (e.g.VCR,TV,or
CBL).If the batteries are inserted correctly,the
LED will blink once.
NOTE:Whenever batteries need replacement,the Millennium 3
will blink twice with every key press.Simply replace the batteries
and the Millennium 3 will be restored to its full functionality,
complete with your favorite sett ing s.

PROGRAMMING TV CONTROL
NOTE:If you own a TV/VCR combination,skip this section and
perform “Programming TV/VCR Combo Cont rol”on page 16.
Locate the brand name of your TV in the Setup Codes For
TVssection below,and write it in the following space.

The brands are listed in alphabetical order with the most
popular codes listed first.You will use one of these codes
to program the Millennium 3 to operate your TV:
1.Turn on the TV.
2.On the Millennium 3,press TV once.Press and
hold SETUP until the LED blinks twice,then
release SETUP.
3.Enter the first four-digit code for your TV. If
you perform this procedure correctly,the LED
will blink twice.
NOTE:If the LED did not blink twice after entering
the code’s last digit,then repeat steps 2 through 3 and
try entering the same code again.
4.Aim the Millennium 3 at your TV and press TV
once.The TV should turn off.If it does not
respond,repeat steps 2-3,trying each code for
your brand unt il you find one that works.If it
still does not work,try searching for the code
(see Searching For Your Code on page 22).
