For short distance communication, the Talk Around
Channel (TAC) provides direct transmission from your
unit to another, bypassing the repeater.
In the TAC, the transmit frequency of your portable is
the same as the receive frequency. This channel allows
direct communication from your portable unit to other
units or to your dispatcher.

Talk Around Channel
Normally, transmissions between your transceiver and

antenna system located atop a high building, a hill or a
mountain. This allows dependable communications
over much longer distances.
