IMPORTANT NOTES

• Do not switch the appliance on if empty.
• Do not leave the appliance close to
sources of heat or allow the mains cable to
come into contact with hot surfaces.
• Do not operate the appliance with the
cable still coiled.
• Make sure that the appliance is unplug
ged when fitting or removing the mixing jug
from the blender
• This appliance must not be used by
persons (including children) with physical,
sensory or mental impairments unless they
have been instructed in its correct use by a
responsible adult.
• Children must be supervised to ensure
that they do not play with the appliance.
• Unplug the appliance from the mains
when it is not in use
• Do not unplug it by pulling on the cable
or leave the plug hanging freely.
• Make sure that the appliance is unplug
ged before cleaning it.
• DO NOT IMMERSE THE MOTOR HOUSING
INTO WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID.
• Do not switch the appliance on if the ca
ble or plug are damaged or if you suspect
that the appliance is not working correctly

Cable repairs and replacements must be
carried out exclusively by an Authorised
Technical Service Centre.
ASSEMBLY
Before using it for the first time, use soapy
water to wash all the pieces which are going
to come into contact with foodstuffs.
The edge of the blade is very sharp. To
avoid injuries handle the blades with extre
me care when cleaning them.
1. Fitting the blades: Check that the seal is
fitted correctly. Place the blade cone onto
the base of the jug and turn it in an anticloc
kwise direction to lock it (fig. 1).
Once done, double check to ensure that
that blade cone is securely attached to the
base of the jug.
NOTE:Mod BS4716: NEVER FIT THE BLADE
CONE DIRECTLY ONTO THE MOTOR
HOUSING WITHOUT IT BEING ATTACHED
THROUGH THE JUG
2. Fitting the jug: Place the jug onto the mo
tor housing, seating the lugs on the blade
cone into the holes on the motor housing.
Turn the jug in a clockwise direction so
that the holding lugs on the jug lock into
their slots, leaving the jug securely atta
ched (fig. 2).
3. Fitting the lid: Make sure that the lid fits
into position properly (fig. 3.)
4. Fitting the stopper.
- Mod BS4716: Line up the lugs on the sto
pper with the spout on the lid, insert and
turn it clockwise until it locks.
- Mod BS4715: Press the stopper fully
down
Important: This blender is fitted with a safe
ty device that stops the motor from starting
if the jug is not positioned correctly.
USE
Before plugging it in, make sure that all of
the controls are in the OFF position. Place
the ingredients into the jug without passing
the maximum mark
