Introduction
The DLM2 is designed to measure light levels in foot-candles or lux over 3 ra n g e s .
Features include
• Over 3 lux ranges
• Accurate to ±5% with a 0.4 second sampling rate
• Easy to read LCD display
C o n t r ols and Indicators
1. Digital Display
2. OFF/ON Switch
3. LUX/FC Switch
4. Range Switch
5. Battery Compartment/Cover
6. Light Sensor
Operating Instructions
Measuring Procedure
1. Slide the “OFF/ON” switch to the “ON” position.
2. Determine lux or foot candle (FC) on the “LUX/FC” switch.
3. Select the maximum range on the “RANGE” switch.
4. Hold the “Light-Sensor” by hand and face the measuring light oppositely. The display will show light values directly.
Measuring Consideration
1. As the rang B (2000 - 19990 LUX, 200 - 1999 FC) is designed and to measure the light values ≥ 2000 LUX (200 FC). So if the measured light values are less than 2000 LUX (200 FC), select the “RANGE” switch to the lower range to get high resolution and precision. Otherwise the display may show some value readings but may not be correct.
2. As the range C (20000 - 50000 LUX, 2000 - 5000 FC) is designed to measure the light values ≥ 20000 LUX (2000 FC). If the measured light values are less than 20000 LUX (2000 FC), select the “RANGE” switch to the lower range to get high resolution and precision. Otherwise the display may show some value readings but may not be correct.

Periodic Service
WARNING!
Repair and service of this instrument is to be performed by qualified personnel only. Improper r
epair or service could result in physical degradation of the meter. Perform only those maintenance tasks that you are qualified to do.
These guidelines will help you attain long and reliable service from your meter:
• Calibrate your meter annually to ensure it meets original performance specifications
• Keep your meter dry. If it gets wet, wipe dry immediately. Liquids can degrade electronic circuits
• Whenever practical, keep the meter away from dust and dirt that can cause premature wear
• Although your meter is built to withstand the rigors of daily use, it can be damaged by severe impacts. Use reasonable caution when using and storing the meter

Cleaning
Periodically clean your meter’s case using a damp cloth. DO NOT use abrasive, flammable liquids, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents as they may damage the finish, impair safety, or affect the reliability of the structural components.
Battery Replacement
Always use a fresh replacement battery of the specified size and type. Immediately remove the old or weak battery from the meter and dispose of it in accordance with your local disposal regulations. Batteries can leak chemicals that corrode electronic circuits. If your meter is not going to be used for a month or more, remove and store the battery in a place that will not allow leakage to damage other materials.
To install a new battery, follow these procedures:
1. When the left corner of LCD display indicates “LO BAT”, it is time to change the battery.
2. Remove battery cover and remove battery.
3. Replace with 9 V battery and reinstall battery cover.
WARNING!
Under no circumstances should you expose batteries to extreme heat or fire as they may expose and cause injury.
