Inverter Power Cable Kit

This manual contains instructions and warnings that must be followed during the installation, operation and storage of this product. Failure to heed these warnings will void your warranty and may lead to equipment damage or personal injury.

FOUND IN THE INVERTER (OR INVERTER/CHARGER) OWNER’S MANUAL.
Installation and Location Warnings
Make sure the inverter is turned completely OFF before connecting battery cables.
• Battery cables must be installed and routed to allow for vibration and movement of the vehicle’s cab. DO NOT stretch cables tight.
• Do not allow battery cables to contact sharp edges, rotating components or hot surfaces.
• Battery cables should be routed neatly and secured with band wraps or clamps.
• Do not route battery cables together with fuel lines.
• Do not use any battery cables other than those supplied with this kit.
• Excess battery cable length should be removed to reduce voltage drop.
• An anti-corrosion, dielectric grease should be applied to all electrical connections.
• All accessory electrical connections must be installed directly on top of the vehicle’s battery terminal post and tightened securely. DO NOT INSTALL UNDER OEM BATTERY CABLES.
• Do not replace the fuse with any other type or style of fuse. ANY REPLACEMENT MUST BE THE SAME AS SUPPLIED.
Equipment Connection Warnings
• Use of this equipment in life support applications where failure of this equipment can reasonably be expected to cause the failure of the life support equipment or to signifi cantly affect its safety or effectiveness is not recommended. Do not use this equipment in the presence of a fl ammable anesthetic mixture with air, oxygen or nitrous oxide.

1 Fuse Holder
Use the supplied hardware to mount the fuse holder securely. Mount within 12 inches (304.8 mm) of the battery.
2 Fuse
Remove the nuts (total of 2) from the fuse holder studs and install the supplied fuse.
Note: For PV1800HF use 250A fuse; for PV3000HF use 500A fuse.
3 Longer Positive Cable
Install the cable lug onto the fuse holder stud, reinstall the nut and tighten to 10.0 ft-lb (13.5 N
Route the cable to the inverter, cut to length, strip the end, attach it to the inverter’s POSITIVE (+) connection and
tighten to 2.58 ft-lb (3.5 N˙m).
4 Shorter Positive Cable (Note: The cable has two different size battery lugs.)
Install the cable lug with the smaller hole onto the other fuse holder stud, reinstall the remaining nut and tighten to
10.0 ft-lb (13.5 N˙m). Close the fuse holder cover.
Install the cable lug with the larger hole onto the battery’s POSITIVE (+) connection and tighten securely.
5 Negative Cable
• Position the negative battery cable near the negative battery post, but DO NOT install at this time.
Route the cable to the inverter, cut to length, strip the end, attach it to the inverter’s NEGATIVE (-) connection and
tighten to 2.58 ft-lb (3.5 N˙m).
Install the negative cable lug onto the battery’s NEGATIVE (-) connection and tighten securely.
6 Inverter Ground Connection
Install the supplied ground lug to provide a chassis ground.
Route the 8 AWG (3.264 mm) ground wire from the inverter’s main ground lug to the chassis ground lug.
Provide a strain relief loop in the ground wire.
