Rackmount Installation
To Mount Unit in Rack: Put four user-supplied rackmount screws (A) through the unit’s mounting ears (B) and into the rack rails as shown. The user must determine the fitness of the rackmount screws to hold the unit in the rack before installation.
Wallmount/Under Counter Installation
1. Detach Mounting Ears: Unscrew the screws (A) holding the unit’s mounting ears (B) to the sides of the unit.
2. Reorient Mounting Ears: Use the screws from Step 1 (A) to reattach the mounting ears (B) to the unit as shown. Use only the manufacturer-supplied screws or their equivalent (#6-32, ¼" flat head) to reattach the mounting ears. The screws should be put through diagonally opposite holes on the ear.
3. Mount Unit on Surface: Put four user-supplied screws (C) or similar mounting hardware through the unit’s mounting ears (B) and into the mounting surface as shown. The user must determine the fitness of the usersupplied mounting hardware to support the unit before mounting.

Features
Circuit Breaker (All Models)
If the current draw of the equipment connected to your model exceeds your model’s circuit breaker rating (15 or 20 amps; see Specifications) for longer than a few seconds, the circuit breaker will trip to prevent any possible damage. When the circuit breaker trips, its plunger will be extended. Remove excess equipment and allow the breaker to cool one minute before depressing its plunger to reset the breaker.
Illuminated “On/Off” Switch (All Models)
When your model is plugged into an AC outlet providing power of appropriate voltage and frequency (see specifications), this switch will illuminate RED when moved to the “ON” position. This indicates 120V AC power is present at the model’s AC receptacles.
Diagnostic Indicator Lights (ISOBAR Models Only)
When your surge suppressor is plugged into an AC outlet providing power of appropriate voltage and frequency (see Specifications), the three LEDs on the front panel show current power conditions as follows, from left to right across the front of the unit:
Line “OK” (Green LED): Indicates that nominal AC power is present with no wiring faults detected. When this LED is illuminated, AC power is safe for connected equipment.
Line Fault (Red LED): Indicates a wiring fault has been detected. If this LED illuminates at any time the unit is plugged in, the fault should be repaired by a qualified electrician as soon as possible. This LED indicates that phases are reversed, ground is missing or some other sort of wiring error exists in the circuit the ISOBAR is plugged into. The Line Fault detector circuitry will identify most common wiring faults, but will not necessarily detect every possible type of fault.
If the Line Fault indicator light illuminates, carefully check the AC receptacle the ISOBAR is plugged into. The receptacle must be tight and securely grounded. A loose AC receptacle may cause the Line Fault LED to illuminate. It must be understood that this Red LED indicates the presence of a wiring fault, but does not indicate the exact nature of the fault. Therefore, a qualified electrician should make necessary repairs.
If the Line Fault indicator light illuminates and power is not present at the outlets, the ISOBAR’s surge-suppression components have been compromised as a result of surge damage. For service, call Tripp Lite Customer Support at (773) 869-1234. Fully explain the perceived problem to the customer support person. They will either remedy the problem over the phone or give you instructions about return, repair or exchange.
Protection Present (Green LED): Indicates the surge-suppression components are intact and providing full protection against spikes and surges. This LED should be lit anytime the ISOBAR “ON/OFF” switch is turned ON and power is present, as indicated by the lighted power switch. If the Protection Present LED does not light, then some of the surge suppression components are not functioning and the unit should be returned for repair as soon as possible. You may still use the unit; however, connected equipment will be protected from spikes and surges at a lesser level than normal.
ISOLATED FILTER BANKS & CASCADE CIRCUITRY
(IBAR12 and ISOBAR12ULTRA Models Only)
Isolated Filter Banks prevent equipment plugged into each filter bank from interacting with equipment plugged into the other filter bank. Cascade Circuitry provides different levels of protection between the Isolated Filter Banks.
There are two Isolated Filter Banks on IBAR12 and ISOBAR12ULTRA models. Isolated Filter Bank #2, the white outlets on these models’ rear panel, provides the highest level of protection for your most sensitive equipment. Isolated Filter Bank #1, the black outlets on these models’ front and rear panels, provides standard protection for your less-sensitive or noise-producing equipment.
