OPERATION
Marking Out & Clamping
Before use, remove protective film from reverse of templates. The template will need to be used on a component that is a suitable size to ensure template is supported properly and that component and template can be clamped securely. Using the templates as a guide, it is recommended that the characters are traced using a pencil onto the material so that the correct character spacing is obtained.
The suggested spacing between characters is 10mm. A base line should be drawn on the material (or a 3mm thick batten could be used). This ensures that all characters are at the same height from the base line.
Using two clamps, securely clamp the
n
template to the material ensuring the clamps will not foul the router path.

As templates are made from clear plastic please be aware of possible glare.
Certain characters are made up of two part apertures to ensure a true character is created. To rout these characters begin by routing the first part of the character. Then using the sight mark above the first part of the character on the template, transfer the line to the material with a pencil. Release clamps, move template along until second sight mark lines up with pencil line. Clamp securely and finish routing the second part of the character.
