INSTALLATION –––– Please keep the following caution.
HOW TO SET THE LEGS
1. Spread a blanket on the fl oor and lay the machine down on its back.
2. Insert the legs into the corners of the cabinet base and drive 2 screws for each leg.
OUTLET OF THE DRAIN HOSE
When the drain hose outlet is exchanged to left side of the machine.
1. Push down and remove the drain hose from the hose hook on the lower
end of the machine.
CAUTION
a Do not push the drain hose into the cabinet. a The drain hose should be laid fl at
on the ground. Water fl ow will be restricted if any portion of the drain hose is raised more than
15 cm (6 in.) from the ground.
2. Push up the drain hose and hold it into the other hose hook.
a The length of the drain hose may be extended
15 cm or less

INSTALLING THE GROUND PIN
a The ground pin in the plug should be connected to the proper point of the socket for grounding.
INSTALLATION PLACE
a Install the machine on a stable and level place.

a Using the washer in a damp place such as a bathroom may cause defective insulation or corrosion. Avoid such a

a Sometimes the plastic portions change their color or deform in direct sunshine. So avoid exposing to direct sunshine.

OPERATING INSTRUCTION
PREPARATION
1. Attach the inlet hose (inner diameter 15 mm) securely.
2. Leave the drain hose fi xed until you fi nish washing. Although a small amount of water may drip from the hose while laundering, it will not affect the operation.
3. Plug the power cord in the wall socket.
WASH / SOAK
1. Select the wash selector knob for desired wash speed.
4. Set the Rinse Water-Level control to High.
5. Feed the water at 2~3 cm lower than “LOW” level. Add the detergent and dissolve it.
6. Put the clothes into the wash tub and feed water properly. Feed water should not exceed the level of “HIGH”.
7. Set the wash timer.
Normal wash : Set wash time by the wash timer. Soak wash : Set the wash timer knob to 45 min.
a Impeller for washing operate intermittenly between 45 to 15 min.
2. Align the drain valve knob to “WASH/RINSE”.
3. Align the water feed selector lever to “WASH”
8. After wash, align the drain valve knob to “DRAIN”.
<NOTICE> When wash clothes do not turn smoothly, stop the wash timer and take out one or two items and reset the wash timer
CAUTION
a When Selecting the wash selector knob for desired wash speed, please align the wash selector knob to “HEAVY” or
“GENTLE”. Don’t set the wash selector knob between “HEAVY” and “GENTLE”.

INTERMEDIATE SPIN
1. Transfer the clothes into the spin basket and arrange the clothes evenly in the spin basket. Attach the spin cap level in upper rim of spin basket. Put the spin cap as shown in Fig. A even the clothes amount is small.
2. Close the inner lid and spin basket lid, then set the spin timer for 1~2 minutes.
CAUTION
a If the spinning starts with the drain or the continuous rinse, the drain of the spin side may
be bad. Do the spin fi rst and do the drain or the continuous rinse approx. 1 minute after spin.
a For your safety, do not put your hands into the spin basket until it has stopped spinning completely.
INTERMEDIATE SPIN RINSE
a If do the intermediate spin rinse after the intermediate spin, shorter time is needed for the last continuous rinse and
save the water need.
a The amount of the clothes are effective if lower than 80%.
1. Align the water feed selector lever to “SPIN”.
2. After the spin basket stopped feed water approximately 1 minute. (Adjust the tap the ensure that the amount of supplied water does not overfl ow at the water feed indicator.)
3. Shut off the water and spin dry 1~2 minutes.
4. Transfer the clothes from the spin basket to the wash tub.

STATIC RINSE
1. Transfer the clothes from the spin basket to the wash tub.
2. Align the drain valve knob to “WASH/RINSE”.
3. Set the water-level control in the “HIGH” position.
4. Feed water suitable for the clothes amount.
5. Set the wash timer for 2~3 minutes.
6. After washing, align the drain valve knob to “DRAIN”.
7. Transfer the clothes from the wash tub to the spin basket and spin dry approximately 1~2 minutes.
8. Repeat the above procedure 2~3 times.

OVERFLOW RINSE
1. Transfer the clothes from the spin basket to the wash tub.
2. Align the drain valve knob to “WASH/RINSE”.
3. Before adding water, set the water-level control at the appropriate level according to the laundry load.
4. Keep feeding water.
(Adjust the tap to ensure that the amount to supplied water.)
5. Set the timer 6~8 minutes. (In the case of doing the intermediate spin rinse, set it 3~4 minutes.)

SPIN DRY
1. Transfer the clothes into the spin basket and arrange the clothes evenly. In case of small amount of clothes, push the clothes by hand before set the spin cap (refer to INTERMEDIATE SPIN for cap mounting.).
2. Close the inner lid and spin basket lid, then set the spin timer.

AFTER OPERATION
1. Unplug the power cord from the socket. Do not pull the power cord.
2. Drain off water and hook the drain hose. As the washing machine may freeze in cold winter, drain all the water from the wash tub and the drain hose.
3. Align the drain valve knob to “DRAIN”.
<NOTICE> After using bleach or starch, wash the wash tub and/or spin basket by water.
LAUNDRY GUIDE
WASHING HINTS
a Empty pockets, close zippers and buttons from the washing clothes. Metal chips, sand, and so on must be removed
from the clothes.
a Sort clothes by fabric, fi nish, soil and colour. a When washing the woolen or delicate fabrics, put the clothes into a net.

SIZE OF LOAD
a Fabrics vary so much in weight and bulk that these two factors should be considered when determining the size of
load.
a The maximum load for your washer is the amount that will move freely in the wash tub. If articles do not move freely,
take out one or two items.
HOW TO USE BLEACH
a First dissolve the bleach in the proper amount of water in accordance with its directions, then pour slowly into the
wash tub.
a The wash tub capacity is 48 liters at high water level and 37 liters at low water level.

a Clean the lint fi lter out after every use.

a Push the fi lter, then snap it out.

DRAIN STRAINER
a When you wash the lint off the lint fi lter and still circulation water does not overfl ow at the lint fi lter, remove the drain
strainer and remove the lint under the drain strainer.
HOW TO REMOVE
a Remove the overfl ow strainer. a Pull up the drain strainer.
HOW TO REPLACE
a Insert the upper both sides
of the drain strainer to the projections of the wash tub.
a Press in the lower side

WHEN THE CLOTHES FALL BETWEEN SPIN BASKET AND OUTER TUB
1. Pull out the power plug.
2. Lift the hatch up and remove it.
3. Pull up this side of the hatch and take the fallen clothes away.

4. When you set the hatch, push the three notches (the arrow points) and insert it into the outer tub.

a It is necessary to remove the impeller for example when something (coin, button, etc.) is preventing the impeller from
rotating.

a Loosen the screw of impeller with the screwdriver
(turn counterclockwise).
a Pull up the impeller handling at the top of impeller screw.

USEFUL INFORMATION
*To ensure longer service from your TOSHIBA washer, be sure to observe the following instructions. a Never turn the timer counterclockwise past the “OFF” gradation nor clockwise past the maximum setting time (wash
“15”, spin “5”) gradation.
a Never wipe the plastic surface of the machine with abrasive powder, benzene or thinner, and also avoid spraying
insecticide near the machine.
a Do not pour boiling water directly into the tub. Use water lower than 50°C. a Sometimes water in the pipes may freeze in winter, so completely drain off water. When water freezes, pour 5~10
liters of warm water (approx. 50°C) in the tub with the drain hose raised. When the drain valve knob starts to move, set it to “DRAIN” and use the washer after ice melts.
a Never install your washing machine near hot articles such as a stove, or plastic portions of the machine may burn. a Use your washing machine under the rated voltage and frequency.
WARNING For your safety, please keep the following caution.
a Be sure to ground the grounding pin of the power cord. a Be sure to unplug the power cord when the machine is not in use. Avoid pulling the power cord. Please handle at the
plug.
a Be sure not to touch the spin basket while rotating. a Be sure to attach the spin plate while operating the spin basket. a Avoid splashing water on the control panel. a Never allow children to look into the wash and spin tub. Do not place the stand or box near the washing machine.
Children may fall into the wash or spin tub and get injured or drowned.
a Never operate washing machine by children and infi rm person. This washing machine is not intended for use by
persons (including chlidren) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowlegde unless they have been adequately supervised by a responsible person to ensure that they can use the washing machine safety.
a Be sure to drain off water after washing to prevent children from being drowned in the wash tub. a Do not push the drain hose into the cabinet. a The opening must not be obstructed by carpeting when the washing machine is installed on a carpet fl oor. a If the supply cord is damaged, it must only be replaced by a repair shop appointed by the manufacturer, because
special purpose tools are required.
a The old inlet hose should not be reused.
BEFORE CALLING A SERVICEMAN
*Please check the following. a If the washer will not start: – Whether the house circuit breaker is tripped or a fuse is blown. – Whether the power cord is connected to the socket properly. – Whether something prevents the impeller from rotating. a If there is excessive noise: – Whether something is touching the impeller as it rotates. – Whether there is an excessively unbalanced load in the spin basket while spinning.
