Golden Gate® Pager Client/Server
using StrataLink
Golden Page Server and Send Page® for Microsoft® Windows® are client/server software packages designed for accessing private or public alphanumeric paging services. Because alphanumeric pagers allow letters to be entered, as well as numbers, access to these services are normally provided to the Paging Service via a modem link from the desktop of the dispatcher. Thus the dispatcher can easily enter any messages sent to the pager. Dial up connections are most commonly used by numeri c page rs since only numbers can be di spl aye d which are readily available from a DTMF type telephone.
Golden Page Server software allows for access to multiple paging services. Each pager can be assigned to work with its corresponding public service or local limited distance pager service such as provided by ServiceAlert interface to automatically create paging messages to alert you whenever your phone rings. It also keeps historical records of pages requested and sent. The local paging option eliminates disruptive overhead audio paging and still provides the tools to reach one another efficiently.
The Golden Page Server defines the Paging Services, each using a modem (1200 Baud) or a COM port for access. It al so def ines P age r ID’s along with common n ames of the u sers of ea ch Pager, and a series of Clients (dispat chers) authorized to s end pages. Each clie nt PC wi ll have the Send Page application configured for a shared file access operation over a LAN. The application can be implemented on a Windows shared directory access. The local pager option provided by ServiceAlert 1,000 pagers capable of 2,000 messages with a signal range of 1 to 2 miles, depending on the surroundings.
