CONTENT
In the copying and printing image, an uneven image density with about 4 mm spacing along the
transfer direction may occur in the halftone area.
To improvement this uneven image density, component parts of the EPU drive area and other
related parts have been changed.
This change is a running change and has been made for the following parts.

However, new parts should not be applied to current copiers in the field, as many surrounding
units would have to be removed.
As parts for current copiers continue to be applicable, be sure to perform maintenance
z
them.

To improve the image (countermeasure to jittering) of FC22/FC15/FC25P, the following
components have been changed.
A. EPU drive area
B. Cover area (2)
C. Rear frame area (1)
D. Paper feeding drive area

(A-1) Drum motor
(1) Remove the rear cover.
(2) Remove the flywheels (3 screws for each).
Note) When the EPU has been installed, never turn
the flywheel by hand.
(It could possibly scratch the drum.)
(3) Remove the flanges (1 screws for each).
(4) Remove the spacer inside the flange (1 screw).
(5) Remove the flywheel cover (6 screws).
(6) Remove the stop ring and the bearing (2 each).

(7) Remove the flywheels (3 screws for each).

(8) Remove the drum motor connectors (2 each)
and then the harness from the cla m p.
(9) Remove the 4 drum motors (4 screws each).

(1) Remove the drum coupling section from the drum
motor shaft (2 screws each).

(1) Disconnect the 2 connectors of the color
developer motor and remove it (2 screw s).

developer motor and remove it (2 screw s).
(B-3) Developer drive gear
(1) Remove the developer dr ive unit (9 screws).
Note: 1. Be careful as the developer drive unit is
heavy.
1. When installing the dev eloper drive unit
into the machine, fasten the screw s in the
order of 1 -> 2 -> 3 -> 4 as shown on the

right, while pressing the un it precisely
against the rear frame.
(Within 2, 3 and 4, the order can be
