EngineDieselParticulate Filter(DPF)Regeneration Screens

SafetyInterlockStatusIndicators
Theseilluminatewheneachcontrolisinthestarting position(i.e.,PTOdisengaged,parkingbrake engaged,motion-controlleversintheNEUTRAL-LOCK position,andtheoperatorispresent).
ThePTOmustbedisengaged,brakeengaged,
andmotion-controlleversout(NEUTRAL-LOCK position)tostarttheengine.(Youdonotneedto beintheseattostarttheengine.)
Note:ThestartercrankswiththePTOswitchin
theON(pulledup)position;however,thesystem disengagesthePTOandaPTOreseterroroccurs. EngagingthePTOrequiresyoutoresetthePTO switchbyturningitOFF(pusheddown)andON.
YoumustbeintheseatwhilethePTOisengaged,
theparkingbrakemustbedisengaged,orthe motion-controlleversmustbemovedinward; otherwise,theengineshutsoff.
Theengineshutsoffifeithertheleft,theright,
orbothleversaremovedfromNEUTRAL-LOCK positionwhiletheparkingbrakeisengaged.

Abargraphdisplaystheenginetemperature.When thetemperatureishighandapproachinganoverheat condition,thebargraphashes.Whentheengine hasoverheated,thebargraphllscompletely .

RecommendedEngineCooldownTime
CAUTION
Duringregeneration,thedieselparticulate lterbecomesextremelyhotandcancause seriousburns.
Keepyourbodyandhandsawayfromthe engineduringregeneration.
Thedieselparticulatelter(DPF)removesparticulate matterfromtheexhaustandpreventsitfrombeing dischargedintotheair.Astheparticulatescollect inthelter,theengineperformsaregenerationto preventclogginganddecreasedengineperformance. Mostregenerationsareperformedinthebackground anddonotimpactoperation.Thereare4modes formaintenance:passiveregeneration,auto regeneration,stationaryregeneration,andrecovery regeneration.
1.PassiveRegeneration
Thisistheprimarymoderegenerationthat occursautomaticallyduringnormaloperation. Whentheengineisrunningatnormalloads,the exhausttemperaturekeepstheDPFabovethe minimumtemperatureforregenerationsothat normalparticulatematter(PM)accumulationin theDPFisexpected.
2.AutoRegeneration
IftheengineECUsensesthattheDPF backpressurehasincreasedpastanacceptable threshold,anautoregenerationwilloccur. Duringtheautoregeneration,theintakethrottle valvelimitstheairowintotheenginewhile theinjectorsaddadditionalfuel.Thisprocess increasestheDPFtemperature,whichallows accumulatedparticulatetoburnoff.Theauto regenerationiscompletedwhenneeded.The machinecancontinuetobeusedduringanauto regeneration.
Thefollowingguresshowthescreensofthe autoregenerationprocess.

WhentheengineECUdeterminesthatanauto regenerationisneeded,thealarmchirpsandthe moduledisplaystheStartofAutoRegenscreen witha60-secondbargraphtimer(Figure5). Oncethetimerexpires,theautoregeneration processbegins.

continuetousethemachineduringtheauto regenerationprocess.
CAUTION
Duringtheautoregenerationprocess, theexhausttemperaturesriseandcould igniteammablematerials.

Adjustingthe Electronically-Controlled LowModeSpeed Adjustment

Whenoperatinginlowmowmode,pressandholdthe LowSpeedModebuttonreducetheenginespeed (minimumof2,250rpm).PresstheLowSpeedMode buttonagaintoreturntheenginetothedefaultsetting.

AutoIdleDownMode

Iftheoperatorleavestheseatandthesafetyinterlocks allowtheenginetoremainrunning,thesystementers theautoidlemodeandautomaticallysettheengine speedtothelowtransportspeed.Whenyoureturn totheseat,thesystemautomaticallyreturnstothe previouslyselectedenginespeedmode.Ifyouselect anotherenginespeedsetting,thesystemexitsthe autoidlemodeandtheenginerunsattheselected speed.

IftheengineECUdeterminesthata signicantengineissuehasoccurredorthat theDPFrequiresaRecoveryRegeneration, itplacestheengineinalimporbackup modewhereenginespeedand/ordecrease enginepower.Inordertoprotectthesystem components,themodulelocksoutthePTO anddisplaytheEngineLimpModeActive message.
3.SystemUndervoltage<9VDC
Ifthevoltageislessthan9V ,thesystem willnotallowclutchengagementanddisplay theerrorSystemUndervoltage<9VDC.If theclutchwasengagedbeforetheerror occurred,thesystemallowstheclutchto remainengaged;however,lowvoltagemay causetheclutchtodisengageitself.
4.LowOilPressure
Iflowengine-oilpressureisdetected,the systemlimitsenginespeedtotheEfcient TransportModespeedandplacesthe machineinSafeTransportMode.Safe TransportModelimitstheenginespeed, locksoutthePTO,anddisengagesthe clutch;aLowOilPressuremessagewill display.CyclingthekeyswitchtotheOFF andthentotheONpositionclearsthefault.
