•LOW:Lowtransportspeed/Lowidleforreducing
deckpackinginwetmowingconditions.
•EFFICIENT:Mediumtransportspeedandmaximum
fueleconomyandnormalmowingconditions.
•MAXIMUM:Maximumtransportspeed/Highidlefor
extrememowingconditions.

speedmode(LowisselectedinFigure4).

coolsandisemptywhenitissafetoshutoffthe

andmotion-controlleversout(NEUTRAL-LOCK
position)tostarttheengine.(Youdonotneedto
beintheseattostarttheengine.)
Note:ThestartercrankswiththePTOswitchin
theON(pulledup)position;however,thesystem
disengagesthePTOandaPTOreseterroroccurs.
EngagingthePTOrequiresyoutoresetthePTO
switchbyturningitOFF(pusheddown)andON.
•YoumustbeintheseatwhilethePTOisengaged,
theparkingbrakemustbedisengaged,orthe
motion-controlleversmustbemovedinward;
otherwise,theengineshutsoff.
•Theengineshutsoffifeithertheleft,theright,
orbothleversaremovedfromNEUTRAL-LOCK
positionwhiletheparkingbrakeisengaged.

thetemperatureishighandapproachinganoverheat
condition,thebargraphashes.Whentheengine

Thefuellevelisshownonabardisplay.Anerror
appearswhenthefuelleveldropstoapproximately

RecommendedEngineCooldownTime
CAUTION
Duringregeneration,thedieselparticulate
lterbecomesextremelyhotandcancause
seriousburns.
Keepyourbodyandhandsawayfromthe
engineduringregeneration.
Thedieselparticulatelter(DPF)removesparticulate
matterfromtheexhaustandpreventsitfrombeing
dischargedintotheair.Astheparticulatescollect
inthelter,theengineperformsaregenerationto
preventclogginganddecreasedengineperformance.
Mostregenerationsareperformedinthebackground
anddonotimpactoperation.Thereare4modes
formaintenance:passiveregeneration,auto
regeneration,stationaryregeneration,andrecovery
regeneration.
1.PassiveRegeneration
Thisistheprimarymoderegenerationthat
occursautomaticallyduringnormaloperation.
Whentheengineisrunningatnormalloads,the
exhausttemperaturekeepstheDPFabovethe
minimumtemperatureforregenerationsothat
normalparticulatematter(PM)accumulationin
theDPFisexpected.
2.AutoRegeneration
IftheengineECUsensesthattheDPF
backpressurehasincreasedpastanacceptable
threshold,anautoregenerationwilloccur.
Duringtheautoregeneration,theintakethrottle
valvelimitstheairowintotheenginewhile
theinjectorsaddadditionalfuel.Thisprocess
increasestheDPFtemperature,whichallows
accumulatedparticulatetoburnoff.Theauto
regenerationiscompletedwhenneeded.The
machinecancontinuetobeusedduringanauto
regeneration.
Thefollowingguresshowthescreensofthe
autoregenerationprocess.
Therecommendedtimetoidletheenginebefore
itshutsdownisshownonabardisplay .Thelevel

WhentheengineECUdeterminesthatanauto
regenerationisneeded,thealarmchirpsandthe
moduledisplaystheStartofAutoRegenscreen
witha60-secondbargraphtimer(Figure5).
Oncethetimerexpires,theautoregeneration
processbegins.
Note:Noactionisrequiredandyoucan
continuetousethemachineduringtheauto
regenerationprocess.
CAUTION
Duringtheautoregenerationprocess,
theexhausttemperaturesriseandcould
igniteammablematerials.
Usecautionifyouoperatethemachine
aroundammablematerials.
Ifanautoregenerationisneededbutoperating
conditionsdonotallowtheprocesstobegin,
themodulepromptsyoutoincreasetheengine
speedand/orload.

tounclogthelter.Duringthestationary
regeneration,theengineECUcontrolsengine
speed,load,andair/fuelmixturetoperforma
controlledburnoftheparticulatecollectedinthe
DPF.

toindicatethattheautoregenerationprocess
isactive.
Ifastationaryregenerationisrequired,it
mayindicatethattheenginehasbeenidling
excessivelyornotrununderasufcientload.If

itmayindicatethattheDPFwillrequireservice
soon,thatanengineproblemexists(e.g.,
incorrectenginefueloroil)orthataDPF
pressuresensorisfailing.
Important:Astationaryregenerationcan
beinitiatedbytheengineECUorbyyou,
theuser.YoucanmonitortheDPFsoot
percentageontheEngine-OffScreenorin
theMaintenanceandServiceMenu.Ifthe
DPFSootpercentageishigh,youmayelect
toinitiateamanualstationaryregeneration
ontheDPFSootPercentagescreeninthe
