•Shutoffthemachineandwaitforallmovingparts
tostopbeforeyouleavetheoperator’sposition.
Allowthemachinetocoolbeforeadjusting,fueling,
unclogging,servicing,cleaning,orstoringthe
machine.
•Becomefamiliarwiththesafeoperationofthe
equipment,operatorcontrols,andsafetysigns.
•Checkthatallguardsandsafetydevices,suchas
deectors,areinplaceandfunctioningproperly.
Donotoperatethemachineunlesstheyare
functioningproperly.
•Knowhowtoshutofftheenginequickly.
•Inspectthemachinefrequentlytoensurethatitis
insafeworkingconditionandthatengine-mounting
boltsandotherfastenersareproperlytightened.

•Donotllcontainersinsideavehicleoronatruck
ortrailerbedwithaplasticliner.Alwaysplace
containersontheground,awayfromthevehicle
beforelling.
•Removethemachinefromthetruckortrailer
beforellingthefueltank.Ifthisisnotpossible,
thenaddfuelfromaportablecontainerratherthan
fromafuel-dispensernozzle.
•Keepthefuel-dispensernozzleincontactwith
therimofthefueltankorcontaineropeningat
alltimesuntilfuelingiscomplete.Donotusea
nozzlelock-opendevice.
•Ifyouspillfuelonyourclothing,changeyour
clothingimmediately.
•Donotoverllthefueltank.Replacethefuelcap
andtightenitsecurelyafterfueling.
•Ifyouspillfuel,donotattempttostarttheengine;
movethemachineawayfromthespillandavoid
