B.Wearsafetyglasses,hearingprotection,
andprotectiveequipmentforyourhead, hands,legs,andfeet.Wearingadequate
protectiveclothingreducespersonalinjury byyingdebrisoraccidentalcontactwith thesawchain.
C.Cuttingtreescanbehazardousand
requiresexpertise.Donotusethechain
sawtofelllargetreesthathaveadiameter greaterthanthelengthoftheguidebar.

Operatingachainsawwhileupinatree mayresultinpersonalinjury.

AdjustingtheChain Tension

Aftereachbatterydraincycle
Ensurethatthechainisproperlytensioned.Aloose chainwillshortenthelifeofthedrivesprocketandthe guidebarandmaybreakthechain.Anovertightened chainwilloverheattheguidebarandchain,causing rapidwearandpossiblemotorburnout.Also,check thechaintensionafterafewcuts.Anewchainusually stretchesandrequiresadjustmentafteritsrstuse.
Thechaintensioniscorrectwhenyouareabletouse aglovedhandtopullthechainsmoothlyaroundthe guidebar.Thechainshouldremainincontactwith thebottomedgeoftheguidebar.
DANGER
Adjustthechainuntilthechaintouchesthe bottomedgeoftheguidebar,thentightenthe knobanadditional1/8to1/4turn.
