•Standsothatyouarestableandbalancedonbothfeet.Do

•Inspectandcleartheareaofanyhiddenobjects.
•Neverusethehedgetrimmernearpowerlines,fencing,
posts,buildings,orotherimmovableobjects.
•Neveruseabladeafterhittingahardobjectwithoutrst
inspectingitfordamage.Donotuseifanydamageis
detected.
•Nevertouchbladesorserviceunitwiththepowersupply
connected.
•Whenoperatingthehedgetrimmer,keeptheextensioncord
behindthetrimmer.Neverdrapeitoverthehedgebeing
trimmed.
•Donotforcethehedgetrimmerthroughheavyshrubbery .
Thiscancausethebladestobindandslowdown.Ifthe
bladesslowdown,reducethepace.
•Donotattempttocutstemsortwigsthatarelargerthan
9/16in.,orthoseobviouslytoolargetofeedintothecutting
blade.Useanon-poweredhandsaworpruningsawtotrim
largestems.
•Ifbladesdobecomejammed,stopthemotor,allowtheblades
tostop,anddisconnecttheplugfromthepowersourcebefore
attemptingtoremovetheobstruction.
•Ifdesired,youcanuseastringtohelpcutyourhedgelevel.
Decidehowhighyouwantthehedge.Stretchapieceofstring
alongthehedgeatthedesiredheight.Trimthehedgejust
abovetheguidelineofstring.Trimthesideofahedgesothat
itwillbeslightlynarroweratthetop.Moreofthehedgewillbe
exposedwhenshapedthisway ,anditwillbemoreuniform.
•Weargloveswhentrimmingthornyorpricklygrowth.When
trimmingnewgrowth,useawidesweepingaction,sothatthe
stemsarefeddirectlyintothecuttingblade.Oldergrowthwill
havethickerstemsandwillbetrimmedeasiestbyusinga
sawingmovement.
Maintenance
OilingtheTrimmerBlade
1.Stopthemotoranddisconnectfrompowersupply .
2.Cleandirtanddebrisfromthebodyofthehedgetrimmer,
usingadampclothwithamilddetergent.
Note:Donotuseanystrongdetergentsontheplastic
housingorthehandle.Theycanbedamagedbycertain
aromaticoilssuchaspineandlemon,andbysolventssuch
askerosene.
3.Laythehedgetrimmeronaatsurface.Applylightweight
machineoilalongtheedgeofthetopblade.Ifyouwillbe
usingthehedgetrimmerforanextendedperiodoftime,itis
advisabletooilthebladeduringuse.
