Safety
Readandunderstandthecontentsofthismanualbefore startingthemotor.

SafeOperatingPractices

GeneralInformation
Readtheinstructionscarefully .Befamiliarwiththe
controlsandtheproperuseofthemachine.
Neverallowchildrenorpeopleunfamiliarwiththese
instructionstousethemachine.Localregulationscan restricttheageoftheoperator.
Nevermowwhilepeople,especiallychildrenorpets,are
nearby.
Theoperatororuserisresponsibleforaccidentsor
hazardsoccurringtootherpeopleortheirproperty.
Preparation
Whilemowing,alwayswearsubstantialfootwearandlong
trousers.Donotoperatethemachinewhenbarefootor wearingopensandals.
Thoroughlyinspecttheareawherethemachineistobe
used,andremoveallobjectswhichcanbethrownbythe machine.
Beforeusing,alwaysvisuallyinspecttoseethattheblade,
bladebolts,andcutterassemblyarenotwornordamaged.
Replaceawornordamagedbladeandboltsasasetto preservebalance.
Tororecommendsthatthemachinebesuppliedwitha
residualcurrentdevice(RCD)havingatrippingcurrent thatdoesnotexceed30mA.
Useonlya1.00mm
than30mandissuitableforoutdooruse(ifapplicable).

Walk;neverrun.
Forwheeledrotarymowers,mowacrossthefaceof
slopes,neverupanddown.
Exerciseextremecautionwhenchangingdirectionon
slopes.
Donotmowexcessivelysteepslopes.
Useextremecautionwhenreversingorpullingthe
machinetowardyou.
Switchoffthemachinewhentransportingitfrom1
cuttingareatoanother.Stopthebladewheneveryou movethemachineoffthelawn.
Neveroperatethemachinewithdefectiveguardsor
withoutmountedsafetydevices(forexample,deectors and/orgrasscatchers)inplace.
Switchonthemotorcarefullyaccordingtoinstructions
andwithfeetwellawayfromtheblade.
Donotputhandsorfeetnearorunderrotatingparts.
Keepclearofthedischargeopeningatalltimes.
Neverpickuporcarryamachinewhilethemotoris
running.

1.Cutthecabletiearoundthehandleandremovethe cabletieandthepackagingmaterial(Model21136 only).
2.Carefullyunfoldthehandle,keepingthecablesclearof thepivotpointssothattheydonotgetpinched.
CAUTION
Thehandlespasseachotherlikeascissors whilefoldingandunfoldingthemandcan pinchyourngers.
Keepyourngersclearofthepivotpointsand crossinghandlesasyoufoldorunfoldthe handle.
