Installation Instructions
Warning
Hydraulic fluid escaping under pressure can penetrate skin and cause injury. Fluid injected into the skin must be surgically removed within a few hours by a doctor familiar with this form of injury or gangrene may result.
Keep your body and hands away from pin hole
leaks or nozzles that eject high pressure hydraulic fluid.
Use cardboard or paper to find hydraulic leaks,
never use your hands.
Wear eye protection while performing this
procedure.

Caution
Hydraulic couplers, hydraulic lines/valves, and hydraulic fluid may be hot. If you contact hot components you may be burned.
Wear gloves when operating the hydraulic
couplers.
Allow the traction unit to cool before touching
hydraulic components.
Do not touch hydraulic fluid spills.
Installing the new hoses
Installing the Kit
1. Disconnect the backhoe hydraulic couplers from the
traction unit.
2. Remove the 6 bolts securing the controls access panel
and remove the panel (Fig. 1).
3. Prepare a pan near the back of the backhoe to catch
oil.
4. Cut the plastic tie securing the hoses.

5. Remove the female coupler and 90 deg. fitting from
the hose, draining the oil into the pan (Fig. 2).
6. Save the female coupler and discard the 90 deg.

10.Install the elbow joint of a new hose to the check valve

(Fig. 3).
11. Route the hose through the backhoe body (Fig. 3).
12.Install a new 90 deg. fitting to the end of the hose
(Fig. 3).
Important Ensure that you orient the 90 deg. fitting so
that the coupler will be facing the traction unit when you connect the hose to the traction unit couplers.

4. Remove and discard these components
7. Pull the female hose through the backhoe body to the
front of the backhoe.
8. Disconnect and discard the hose, check valve, and
fittings from the control block (Fig. 2).
9. Install the check valve into the opening in the control
block from where you removed the hose. The arrow on the valve must point away from the control block (Fig. 3).
13.Install the female coupler removed previously to the
elbow fitting on the hose (Fig. 3).
14.Remove the male coupler and 90 deg. fitting from the
other hose, draining the oil into the pan (Fig. 2).
15.Save the male coupler and discard the 90 deg. fitting.
16.Pull the male hose through the backhoe body to the
front of the backhoe.
17.Disconnect and discard the hose and fittings from the
control block (Fig. 2).
18.Install the new adapter into the opening in the control
block from where you removed the hose (Fig. 3).
19.Install the elbow joint of the new hose to the new
adapter (Fig. 3).
20.Route the hose through the backhoe body (Fig. 3).
21.Install a new 90 deg. fitting to the end of the hose
(Fig. 3).
Important Ensure that you orient the 90 deg. fitting so
that the coupler will be facing the traction unit when you connect the hose to the traction unit couplers.
22.Install the male coupler removed previously to the
elbow fitting on the hose (Fig. 3).
