1 Introduction
Congratulations with your purchase of the Topcom BPM Wrist 3311. This fully
automatic, wrist mounted blood pressure monitor is both easy to use and ideally
suited for daily measurements. The large display includes systolic, diastolic
and pulse, all clearly shown at the completion of each reading.
In addition, you can store up to 30 measurements per Memory Zone, ideal for
users who want to monitor and track their blood pressure on a regular basis.
The BPM wrist 3311 is compact and portable, making it ideal for home use and
travel.
2 Safety instructions
1. This product is for household use only. Is is not intended as a
substitute for consultation with your doctor.
2. For users diagnosed with common arrhythmia (atrial or ventricular
premature beats or atrial fibrillation), diabetes, poor circulation of
blood, kidney problems, or for users suffered from stroke, or for
unconscious users, the device might not be suitable for use. Consult
your doctor in case of any doubt.
3. The unit should not be operated by children so to avoid hazardous
situations.
4. The unit contains high-precision assemblies. Therefore, avoid extreme
temperatures, humidity, and direct sunlight. Avoid dropping or strongly
shocking the main unit, and protect it from dust.
5. Leaky batteries can damage the unit. Remove the batteries when the
unit is not used for a long time.
Please read this manual carefully before use. For specific
information on your own blood pressure, contact your physician.
Put the user guide away in a safe place for future reference.

6. Do not press the START key when the cuff is not placed around the
wrist.
7. Do not disassemble the main unit or cuff.
8. If the unit is stored in a cold place, allow it to acclimate at room
temperature before use.
9. Clean the blood pressure monitor body and the cuff carefully with a
slightly damp, soft cloth. Do not press. Do not bend the pre-formed
cuff inside out. Do not wash the cuff or use chemical cleaner on it.
Never use thinner, alcohol or petrol (gasoline) as cleaner.
3 Helpfull tips
Here are a few helpful tips to help you obtain more accurate readings:
• Do not measure your blood pressure immediately after consuming a large
meal. To obtain more accurate readings, please wait one hour before
measuring.
• Do not smoke or drink alcohol before measuring your blood pressure.
• You should not be physically tired or exhausted while taking a
measurement.
• It is important that you relax during measurement. Try to take 15-minutes
rest before a reading.
• Do not take measurements if you are under stress or under tension.
• Take your blood pressure at normal body temperature. If you are feeling
cold or hot, wait a while before taking a measurement.
• If the monitor is stored at very low temperature (near freezing), have it
placed at a warm location for at least one hour before using it.
• Wait about 5 minutes before taking the next pressure measurement.

4 Disposal of the device
At the end of the product lifecycle, you should not throw this product
into the normal household garbage but bring the product to a
collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic
equipments. The symbol on the product, user guide and/or box
indicate this.
Some of the product materials can be re-used if you bring them to a recycling
point. By re-using some parts or raw materials from used products you make
an important contribution to the protection of the environment. Please contact
your local authorities in case you need more information on the collection points
in your area.
5 Blood pressure
5.1 What is blood pressure?
Blood pressure is the pressure exerted on the artery tube while blood flows
through the arteries. The pressure measured when the heart contracts and
sends blood out of the heart is systolic (highest). The pressure measured when
the heart dilates with blood flowing back into the heart is called diastolic (lowest)
blood pressure.
5.2 Why measure your blood pressure?
Among the various health problems afflicting modern people, problems
associated with high blood pressure are by far the most common. High blood
pressure's dangerously strong correlation with cardiovascular diseases
and high morbidity has made measuring blood pressures a necessity of
identifying those at risk.

5.3 Blood pressure standard
The World Health Organization (WHO) and National High Blood Pressure
Education Program has developed a Blood pressure standard, according to
which areas of low and high-risk blood pressure are identified. This standard
however, is a general guideline as individual's blood pressure varies among
different people and different groups...etc.
It is important that you consult with your physician regularly. Your physician will
tell you your normal blood pressure range as well as the point at which you will
be considered at risk.
5.4 Blood pressure fluctuation
Blood pressure fluctuates all the time!
You should not be worried if you encountered two or three measurements at
high levels. Blood pressure changes over the month and even throughout the
day depending on circumstances (state of mind, temperature, ...)

6 Battery installation
• Open the battery compartiment by pulling the cover away
• Insert 2 AAA non - rechargeable batteries. Follow the polarity as indicated
in the battery compartiment.

9 Applying the cuff
1. Remove all watches, jewelry, etc. prior to
attaching the wrist monitor.Clothing sleeves
should be rolled up and the cuff should be
wrapped on bare skin for correct
measurements. Apply cuff to left wrist with
palm facing up.
2. Make sure the edge of the cuff is about 1 cm
from the palm. In order to insure accuratemeasurements.
3. Fasten the velcro strap securely around your
wrist so there is no extra space between the
cuff and the wrist. If the cuff is not wrapped
tight enough ,the measurement values will
be false.
4. If your physician has diagnosed you with
poor circulation on your left arm, place the
cuff around your right wrist.

10 Measuring posture
1. Relax your entire body, especially the area
between your elbow and fingers. Place your
elbow on a table so that the cuff is at the same
level as your heart.
2. If the cuff is not at the same level as your heart
or if you can not keep your arm completely still
throughout the reading, use a soft object such
as folded towel to support your arm.
3. Turn your palm upwards.Sit upright in a chair,
and take 5-6 deep breaths. Avoid leaning back
while the measurementis being taken.
11 Measurement
11.1 Important
1. This monitor automatically switches off 1
minute after the last key operation.
2. To interrupt the measurement, simply press
any key. The cuff will deflate immediately after a key is pressed.
3. During the measurement, do not talk or move your arm or hand
muscles.
4. The result will be stored automatically in the selected Memory Zone.
Select the desires Memory Zone before measurement (see §12)

12 Procedure
1. Press the SET button repeatedly to select the
desired memory zone.
2. Press the START/STOP button to start
measurement. The cuff will inflate to the level that is
right for you.
3. When the right level is reached, the cuff will deflate.
This monitor will re-inflate automatically to
approximately 220mmHg if the system detects that your
body needs more pressure to measure your blood
pressure.
4. When the measurement is completed, systolic,
diastolic and pulse will be shown simultaneously on
the LCD screen.

13 Memory
The BPM 3311 has 3 Memory zones. Each can store up to
30 measurements including the date and time
The result will be stored automatically in the selected
Memory Zone after the measurement.
Select the desired Memory Zone before measurement, by
pressing the SET button repeatedly.
To recall measurement results:
• Press the SET button repeatedly to select the desired
memory zone.
• Press the MEMORY RECALL button to see the last
measurement result.
• Press the MEMORY RECALL button repeatedly for
prior values stored.
• To stop reading the data, press the START/STOP
button to switch back to normal time.
To erase all data from one memory zone:
• Press the SET button repeatedly to select the desired
memory zone.
• Press the MEMORY RECALL button to see the last
measurement result.
• Press the MODE and SET button simultaneously to
erase all data from the selected memory zone.

14 Time adjustment
To adjust the date an time:
• Press the SET button to activate the display. The
memory zone will be displayed.
• Press the MODE button, the month will blink on the
display.
• Press the SET button succesively to change the
month.
• Press the MODE button to confirm the month. The
day will blink on the display.
• Change the day, hours and minutes as described
above, using the SET button to change and the
MODE button to confirm every setting.
After setting the minutes, the device is ready to use.

16 Topcom Warranty
16.1 Warranty period
The Topcom units have a 24-month warranty period. The warranty period starts
on the day the new unit is purchased. Consumables or defects causing a
negligible effect on operation or value of the equipment are not covered.
The warranty has to be proven by presentation of the original purchase receipt,
on which the date of purchase and the unit-model are indicated.
16.2 Warranty handling
A faulty unit needs to be returned to a Topcom service centre including a valid
purchase note. If the unit develops a fault during the warranty period, Topcom
or its officially appointed service centre will repair any defects caused by
material or manufacturing faults free of charge.
Topcom will at its discretion fulfil its warranty obligations by either repairing or
exchanging the faulty units or parts of the faulty units. In case of replacement,
colour and model can be different from the original purchased unit.
The initial purchase date shall determine the start of the warranty period. The
warranty period is not extended if the unit is exchanged or repaired by Topcom
or its appointed service centres.
16.3 Warranty exclusions
Damage or defects caused by incorrect treatment or operation and damage
resulting from use of non-original parts or accessories not recommended by
Topcom are not covered by the warranty.
The warranty does not cover damage caused by outside factors, such as
lightning, water and fire, nor any damage caused during transportation.
No warranty can be claimed if the serial number on the units has been changed,
removed or rendered illegible.

1 Inleiding
Gefeliciteerd met uw aankoop van de Topcom BPM wrist 3311. Deze
volautomatische bloeddrukmeter, polsmodel, is gebruiksvriendelijk en ideaal
voor dagelijkse metingen. Op de grote display worden bovendruk- (systolisch),
onderdruk- (diastolisch) en polsslagwaarden weergegeven, allemaal duidelijk
af te lezen op het eind van elke meting.
Bovendien kunt u tot 30 metingen per Geheugenzone opslaan, ideaal voor
gebruikers die hun bloeddruk regelmatig willen controleren en opvolgen. De
BPM wrist 3311 is compact en draagbaar, en zo ideaal voor gebruik thuis en
onderweg.
2 Veiligheidsinstructies
1. Dit toestel is enkel geschikt voor huishoudelijk gebruik. Het is niet de
bedoeling om met deze meter een raadpleging bij uw dokter te
vervangen.
2. Voor gebruikers die lijden aan aritmie (atriale of ventriculaire premature
hartslag of atriale fibrillatie), suikerziekte, slechte bloedsomloop,
nieraandoeningen, of voor gebruikers die een beroerte hebben gehad
of gebruikers die bewusteloos zijn, is het toestel niet geschikt. In geval
van twijfel, raadpleeg uw arts.
3. Dit toestel mag niet worden gebruikt door kinderen, anders kunnen er
gevaarlijke situaties ontstaan.
4. Het toestel omvat precisiecomponenten. Daarom moet het worden
beschermd tegen extreme temperaturen, vochtigheid en direct

zonlicht. Laat het toestel niet vallen en vermijd sterke schokken.
Bescherm het tegen stof.
5. Lekkende batterijen kunnen schade aan het toestel veroorzaken.
Verwijder de batterijen wanneer u het toestel langere tijd niet gebruikt.
6. Druk niet op START zolang de polsband niet rond de pols is bevestigd.
7. Demonteer het toestel of de polsband niet.
8. Als het toestel op een koude plaats wordt bewaard, laat het dan eerst
op kamertemperatuur komen alvorens het te gebruiken.
9. Reinig de bloeddrukmeter en de polsband voorzichtig met een licht
vochtige, zachte doek. Oefen geen druk uit. Draai de voorgevormde
polsband niet binnenstebuiten. Was de polsband niet en gebruik ook
geen chemisch reinigingsmiddel om hem te reinigen. Gebruik nooit
verdunner, alcohol of benzine als reinigingsmiddel.
3 Handige tips
Hieronder vindt u enkele handige tips die u helpen meer nauwkeurige
resultaten te verkrijgen:
• Meet uw bloeddruk niet onmiddellijk nadat u uitgebreid hebt gegeten.
Om nauwkeurige resultaten te verkrijgen, wacht u het best één uur
alvorens te meten.
• Rook niet of drink geen alcohol voordat u uw bloeddruk meet.
• Tijdens een meting mag u niet lichamelijk moe of uitgeput zijn.
• Het is belangrijk dat u zich tijdens de meting ontspant. Probeer
15 minuten te rusten voordat u uw bloeddruk neemt.
• Meet uw bloeddruk niet als u gestrest of gespannen bent.
• Meet uw bloeddruk bij een normale lichaamstemperatuur. Als u het koud
of warm hebt, wacht u beter een tijdje alvorens uw bloeddruk te meten.
• Als de meter op een erg koude plaats wordt bewaard (dichtbij
vriestemperatuur), zet hem dan gedurende minstens één uur in een
warme ruimte vooraleer hem te gebruiken.
• Wacht ongeveer 5 minuten vooraleer u opnieuw uw bloeddruk meet.

4 Het toestel vernietigen (milieu)
Op het einde van de levenscyclus van het product mag u dit product
niet bij het normale huishoudelijke afval gooien, maar moet u het
naar een inzamelpunt brengen voor de recyclage van elektrische en
elektronische apparatuur. Dit wordt aangeduid door het symbool op
het product, in de handleiding en/of op de verpakking.
Sommige materialen van het product kunnen worden hergebruikt als u ze naar
een inzamelpunt brengt. Door onderdelen of grondstoffen van gebruikte
producten te hergebruiken, levert u een belangrijke bijdrage tot de
bescherming van het milieu. Wend u tot uw locale overheid voor meer
informatie over de inzamelpunten in uw buurt.
5 Bloeddruk
5.1 Wat is bloeddruk?
Bloeddruk is de druk die wordt uitgeoefend op de slagaderwand door het bloed
dat door de slagaders stroomt. De druk die wordt gemeten wanneer het hart
samentrekt en bloed uit het hart stuwt, is systolisch (bovendruk). De druk die
wordt gemeten wanneer het hart uitzet door het bloed dat terugstroomt naar het
hart wordt de diastolische bloeddruk (onderdruk) genoemd.
5.2 Waarom moet u uw bloeddruk meten?
Van de verschillende gezondheidsproblemen waarmee de moderne mens
heeft af te rekenen, komen problemen gepaard met een hoge bloeddruk
verreweg het vaakst voor. Door de gevaarlijk sterke correlatie tussen hoge
bloeddruk en cardiovasculaire aandoeningen en het hoge ziektecijfer zijn
bloeddrukmetingen noodzakelijk geworden om de risicogroepen te
identificeren.

5.3 Bloeddruknorm
De Wereldgezondheidsorganisatie (WHO) en het Nationale Voorlichtingsprogramma voor Hoge Bloeddruk hebben een bloeddruknorm ontwikkeld aan
de hand waarvan bloeddrukwaarden met laag en hoog risico worden geïdentificeerd. Die norm is echter slechts een algemene richtlijn, want de individuele
bloeddruk verschilt van persoon tot persoon en van groep tot groep ... enz.
Het is belangrijk dat u regelmatig uw arts raadpleegt. Uw arts zal u vertellen wat
uw normale bloeddrukbereik is en vanaf welke waarde u risico loopt.
5.4 Bloeddrukschommeling
De bloeddruk schommelt voortdurend!
U hoeft zich nog niet ongerust te maken als u twee of drie keer een hoge
bloeddruk meet. De bloeddruk verandert in de loop van de maand en zelfs in
de loop van de dag, afhankelijk van de omstandigheden (gemoedsgesteldheid,
temperatuur ...).

• Open het batterijvak door het afdekplaatje weg te schuiven
• Plaats 2 niet-oplaadbare AAA-batterijen. Let op de in het batterijvak
aangeduide polariteit.

9 De polsband aanbrengen
1. Verwijder horloges, juwelen enz. vooraleer u
de polsband bevestigt. Rol uw mouwen op
en bevestig de polsband op uw naakte huid
om een correcte meting te verzekeren.
Bevestig de polsband op uw linkerpols met
uw handpalm naar boven gericht.
2. Voor nauwkeurige metingen, moet de rand
van de polsband ongeveer 1 cm van de palm
van uw hand verwijderd zijn.
3. Bevestig de velcroband stevig rond uw pols
zodat er geen speling is tussen de polsband
en uw pols. Als de polsband niet stevig
genoeg rond de pols wordt gewikkeld, zijn de
meetresultaten verkeerd.
4. Indien uw arts een zwakke bloedsomloop
aan uw linkerarm heeft vastgesteld, moet u
de polsband rond uw rechterpols bevestigen.

10 Meethouding
1. Ontspan heel uw lichaam, vooral het gebied
tussen uw elleboog en vingers. Plaats uw
elleboog op een tafel zodat de polsband zich op
dezelfde hoogte bevindt als uw hart.
2. Als de polsband niet op dezelfde hoogte als uw
hart ligt of als u uw arm niet volledig stil kunt
houden gedurende de meting, kunt u een zacht
voorwerp gebruiken zoals een opgevouwen
handdoek om uw arm te ondersteunen.
3. Draai uw handpalm omhoog. Zit rechtop in een
stoel en haal 5-6 keer diep adem. Leun niet
achteruit tijdens de meting.

11.1 Belangrijk
1. Deze meter schakelt automatisch uit wanneer er
gedurende 1 minuut geen toets wordt ingedrukt.
2. Om de meting te onderbreken, drukt u op een willekeurige toets.
De polsband zal onmiddellijk leeglopen nadat op een toets is gedrukt.
3. Praat niet tijdens de meting en beweeg ook uw arm- of handspieren
niet.
4. Het resultaat wordt automatisch opgeslagen in de geselecteerde
Geheugenzone. Selecteer de gewenste Geheugenzone vóór de
meting (zie §12).

12 Procedure
1. Druk meermaals op de INSTEL-knop om de
gewenste Geheugenzone te selecteren.
2. Druk op de START/STOP-knop om met de meting
te beginnen. De polsband wordt automatisch
opgepompt tot het niveau dat goed is voor u.
3. Als het juiste niveau bereikt is, loopt de polsband
automatisch leeg.
De meter zal de polsband automatisch verder
oppompen tot ongeveer 220 mmHg als het systeem
detecteert dat uw lichaam meer druk nodig heeft om uw
bloeddruk te meten.
4. Als de meting voltooid is, verschijnen de systolische
en diastolische druk en de polsslag tegelijkertijd op
het LCD-scherm.
5. Wanneer tijdens de meting een fout wordt
vastgesteld, verschijnt het Error-symbool op
het scherm.

13 Geheugen
De BPM 3311 heeft 3 Geheugenzones. In elke zone kunnen
tot 30 metingen, inclusief datum en tijd, worden opgeslagen.
Het resultaat wordt automatisch opgeslagen in de
geselecteerde Geheugenzone na de meting.
Selecteer de gewenste Geheugenzone voor de meting door
meermaals op de INSTEL-knop te drukken.
Meetresultaten oproepen:
• Druk meermaals op de INSTEL-knop om de gewenste
Geheugenzone te selecteren.
• Druk op de GEHEUGENOPROEP-knop om het laatste
meetresultaat op te roepen.
• Druk meerdere keren op de GEHEUGENOPROEP-
knop om vroegere meetresultaten op te roepen.
• Druk om te stoppen met het oproepen van
meetresultaten op de START/STOP-knop en u keert
terug naar het hoofdmenu.
Alle meetresultaten in de Geheugenzone wissen:
• Druk meermaals op de INSTEL-knop om de gewenste
Geheugenzone te selecteren.
• Druk op de GEHEUGENOPROEP-knop om het laatste
meetresultaat op te roepen.
• Druk tegelijkertijd op de MODUS- en INSTEL-knop om
alle meetresultaten in de geselecteerde
Geheugenzone te wissen.

14 Datum en tijd instellen
De datum en de tijd instellen:
• Druk op de INSTEL-knop om de display te activeren.
De Geheugenzone verschijnt op de display.
• Druk op de MODUS-knop, de maand knippert op de
display.
• Druk meermaals op de INSTEL-knop om de maand
te wijzigen.
• Druk op de MODUS-knop om de maand te
bevestigen. De dag knippert op de display.
• Wijzig de dag, de uren en minuten zoals hierboven
beschreven, gebruik hiervoor de INSTEL-knop om
de waarden te wijzigen en de MODUS-knop om elke
instelling te bevestigen.
Wanneer u de minuten hebt ingesteld, is het toestel klaar voor gebruik.

16 Topcom Garantie
16.1 Garantieperiode
Op de Topcom-toestellen wordt een garantie van 24 maanden verleend. De
garantieperiode begint op de dag waarop het nieuwe toestel wordt gekocht.
Kleine onderdelen of defecten die een verwaarloosbaar effect hebben op de
werking of waarde van het toestel worden niet gedekt door de waarborg.
De garantie moet worden bewezen door voorlegging van het aankoopbewijs
waarop de datum van aankoop en het toesteltype staan.
16.2 Afwikkeling van garantieclaims
Een defect toestel moet, samen met een geldig aankoopbewijs, worden
teruggestuurd naar een Topcom-hersteldienst. Als het toestel tijdens de
garantieperiode een defect vertoont, zal Topcom of diens officieel erkende
hersteldienst eventuele defecten te wijten aan materiaal- of productiefouten
gratis herstellen.
Topcom zal naar eigen goeddunken haar garantieverplichtingen vervullen door
defecte toestellen of onderdelen van defecte toestellen hetzij te herstellen,
hetzij te vervangen. In het geval dat het toestel wordt vervangen, kan de kleur
en het model verschillend zijn van het oorspronkelijk gekochte toestel.
De oorspronkelijke aankoopdatum is bepalend voor het begin van de
garantieperiode. De garantieperiode wordt niet verlengd als het toestel wordt
vervangen of hersteld door Topcom of diens officieel erkende hersteldienst.

16.3 Garantiebeperkingen
Schade of defecten te wijten aan onoordeelkundig gebruik of bediening en
schade te wijten aan het gebruik van niet-originele onderdelen of accessoires
die niet zijn aanbevolen door Topcom, worden niet gedekt door de garantie.
De garantie dekt geen schade te wijten aan externe factoren, zoals bliksem,
water en brand, noch enige transportschade.
Er kan geen beroep worden gedaan op de garantie als het serienummer op het
toestel is gewijzigd, verwijderd of onleesbaar gemaakt.
