RMM4

Minirack Headend System Chassis

The RMM4 is a 1RU rack mount carriage with a built-in
power supply. The assembly accepts up to four mini
modules, such as Video Modulators, Video or Audio
Switching Modules, etc.

The power supply features a universal input voltage
switching power supply with attached 115 VAC line
cord and four separate DC output cables with polarized
3-circuit connectors.

PSM12

Minirack Power Supply

The PSM121 minirack power supply is an air cooled
switching type power supply designed to power the
modules of the Drake minirack products. It mounts in
the RMM12 rack enclosure and powers up to 12 modu­lator, demodulator, video display, video switching or
audio switching devices.

The minirack headend system is a state of the art com­pact modular headend system allowing maximum use
of rack space. The RMM-12 Chassis with its PSM121
Power Supply allows the mounting of up to 12 modula­tors or other devices in 3-1/2” of rack space. The
RMM-12 chassis accommodates any combination of
VMM-600, VMM-860 and/or VMM-860AG Agile
Modulators, DMM-806 Demodulators, MMTS20 Stereo
Encoders, TUM714 Sub-Band Upconverters or a vast
range of similar units from other manufacturers.

VMM860AG Agile Video Modulator

The VMM860AG is an agile, high quality, vestigial sideband, heterodyne audio/video
modulator with synthesized visual and aural carriers. One to twelve modulators or other
accessories can be mounted in the same amount of rack space typically required for two
standard size units. Ideally suited for private cable, hotels and motels, institutional, and
SMATV applications, the VMM860AG accepts video and audio baseband signals from a
satellite receiver, TV camera, videotape recorder, TV demodulator, or similar signal

VMM600 & VMM860 Video Modulator

The R.L. Drake mini-rack system is a professional quality, modular headend system,
designed to optimize rack space. The VMM600 and VMM860 are high quality, fixed
channel, heterodyne audio/video modulators. One to twelve can be mounted in the
same amount of rack space typically required for two standard size units. Ideally suited
for private cable, hotel/motel, institutional, and SMATV applications, the VMM600 and
VMM860 accept standard NTSC video and audio baseband signals from a satellite
receiver, TV demodulator, or similar signal source.

MMTS20 Stereo Encoder

The R.L. Drake MMTS20 Stereo Encoder is part of the Drake Mini-Rack family designed
to optimize rack space. The MMTS20 is an MTS stereo encoder which accepts left and
right audio inputs and generates a composite BTSC format stereo signal. The composite
signal is applied to the audio input of a compatible audio/video modulator . The modular
design permits convenient pairing with a mini-rack modulator such as the VMM600,
VMM806, or VMM806AG in a multiple unit rack configuration.

proper audio levels

DMM806 Agile Video Demodulator

The Drake DMM806 Video Demodulator is a professional quality agile television demod­ulator that provides an audio and video output from any VHF, UHF, or CATV channels
(54 - 806 MHz). The standard single rack-unit design permits convenient pairing with a
Drake Professional Video Modulator to perform off-air or CATV channel processing.

TUM714 Block Upconverter for Conversion of T Channels

The R.L. Drake TUM714 block upconverter is designed to receive the block of CATV
channels in the range of 5 - 54 MHz. (channels T7 - T14) and convert those signals to
EIA channels 7 - 13 and channel 23. Input and output levels as high as +30 dBmV may
be used, nominally with unity gain. The typical application for this device is to receive a
remotely originated channel and convert it so it may be fed into a video recorder or
demodulator. Minirack packaging allows this product to be intermixed with other related
products in a 4 or 12 slot configuration.

• An inexpensive method of returning remotely originated programming to the headend

• Upconverts 5 - 54 MHz - by 168.25 MHz
