TMI, LLC utilizes the highest quality materials to produce its
Air Curtains. The system is constructed of 100% steel com-
ponents. The intake grill, side panels and top & bottom pan-
ls are produced of stainless steel. The fans and fan bas-
e
kets are SG-grade galvanized steel. The unit is assembled
with stainless steel hex screws so the intake grill can be
easily and quickly removed for fast, easy maintenance and
cleaning.
How a Save-T Air Curtain Works
The Save-T Air Curtain is mounted above a doorway
opening, just above the header. Ambient air is drawn

through the front intake grill (A) and into the fan baskets
(B). The blower wheel (C), forces the air into an air
chamber (D) and the air is forced downward through the
discharge nozzle (E). An invisible “wall of air” is created
that serves as the barrier preventing conditioned air
from leaving the building and blocking outside air from
entering, even when there is no primary door in place.

a more uniform air flow to
maximize efficiency and
reduce noise levels
• Aesthetically pleasing design
Heaters (see Optional Equipment & Accessories,
pgs. 26 & 27) can be added to the units so that a
comfortable environment can be maintained for
customers while creating a better, more productive
work area for personnel during the winter months.
Heated units further increase energy savings by
lowering heating and cooling costs.

Save-T Air Curtain
Air Curtains reduce energy costs while increasing
employee and customer comfort. The high veloc-
ty air screen created by the Air Curtain stops
i
outside wind, while circulating the warm air that
naturally rises toward the ceiling. During the winter months, Air Curtains stop exterior cold drafts
from entering through open doorways and prevent heated air from escaping. During the summer months, Air Curtains keep warm, humid air
outside and prevent the loss of conditioned air.
During the cold months,
the Air Curtains save on
energy costs by drawing
warm air from the ceiling
area.
Air Curtains are capable of
stopping flying insects from
entering through open
doorways. Dust and odors
can be blocked as well.
When summer heat and
humidity become a problem,
Air Curtains create an invisible shield that holds the hot,
humid air outside.

The height of the opening and wind exposure velocity can be handled by controlling the amount of air flow from
the unit. Any deficiencies in pressure balance must be remedied by adjusting the source of the imbalance.
Note: Approximately 80% of the air flow stays inside the facility

In order to regulate the operation of the Air Curtain,
we offer a number of activation devices. These allow

turned on. Or, if the curtain has a heating element, a
thermostat can control the amount of heat needed,
depending on the season.

All Air-Pro Air Curtains run on 120 volts
and have single-phase motors, which
means they plug into a regular grounded
wall outlet for quick and easy installation.
An Automatic Door Plunger Switch is
supplied with every unit. This switch
allows the air curtain to be instantly
turned on when the door is opened.
Easy Adjustments
The Air-Pro Series Air Curtains
are easy to operate. Each unit
has a 2-speed motor with a
built-in high/low rocker switch.
There is also an adjustable
directional vane that allows
you to regulate the direction

To minimize field wiring, Save-T Air Curtains can be
ordered with a pre-mounted control panel, located on
either side of the housing. Due to space restrictions,
remote-mounted control panels may be optional. Wires
from each motor are run to a single junction box, eliminating the need for field motor wiring
Motor control panels substantially reduce field wiring.
The control panels are recommended for all threephase units. Fused disconnects can be included in the
panel or supplied by others.

Both industrial and commercial units can be ordered with either electric or hot water/steam heaters. In addition,
industrial units are available with indirect gas-fired heaters. Heating coils warm the intake air to improve

Mounting Options
WALL MOUNTING PLATE
(Designed for S-AP, S-CFD, S-IBD,
S-LI, and S-MI Units)
This mounting method can be used when
the base (large plate) can be securely
attached to a wall made of wooden studs
and dry wall material. The smaller bar is
attached to the Air Curtain and lifted onto
the base plate.
MOUNTING BARS
These “C” channel bars are used when
obstructions interfere with normal wall mounting methods. (i.e. overhead door and roll-up
door guide rails)
Filters
WALL BRACKETS
Wall brackets are required
when a unit needs to be
mounted away from the
wall to clear obstacles or
when the existing security
door travels between the
wall and the Air Curtain.
EXTENSION PLATES
Extension plates are recommended
when the pre-drilled top mounting
holes are too narrow for a ceiling
suspension mount or wall bracket
mount (not applicable for electric
heated units).
VERTICAL
MOUNTING BRACES
These braces allow Air Curtains to be mounted vertically,
creating a more efficient and effective air flow. This is
common for refrigeration openings.
Nozzle Extensions
In environments where the intake air must be
clear of dust or grease, air filters should be used.
Our filters are made of aluminum mesh and are
washable with detergent and water
.
Nozzle extensions are typically used when the air
curtain is recessed above a ceiling. Each extension
is built with an adjustable vane that regulates the
