Installation
The unit comes with 4 “LR44” button cell batteries already installed. These batteries are meant for in-store demonstration use only, and should be removed during normal operation.
Note: After installing the Battery Backup and reading through the Maintenance, plug the AC line cord correctly into a wall outlet. When the unit is connected to AC power for the first time the display may blink.
Battery Backup
If the Backup Batteries have been installed and a power failure occurs or the AC cord is accidentally disconnected, the display will not remain lit, but the current time and alarm time settings will be temporarily maintained.
If the Backup Batteries have not been installed or are dead, the battery low indicator will light up.
1. Open the battery compartment cover.
2. Insert three “AAA” R3 batteries, checking the + and – ends of the batteries. We recommend alkaline batteries. Do not do
not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries.
Note: You should replace backup batteries if Battery Low Icon is lit.
3. Close the compartment cover.
Battery Low Indicator
The Battery Low Icon is located in the center of the left side of the display. When the icon lights up it is time to replace backup batteries.

AC Adapter Operation
1. Plug the supplied AC adapter into the AC Jack on the back of the unit, then plug the cord into an outlet.
2. If you are using a different AC adapter than the one supplied, make sure that it is a 6V, 350mA AC adapter.
Daylight-Saving Time
1. Depending on your living area and if Daylight Saving Time (DST) is observed, you can manually switch DST on (+1), OFF or use the AUTO setting.
2. To manually turn on the DST function, just set the DST Switch to +1. A small dot on the right hand of the display will appear for DST and the time will advance 1 hour.
3. To manually turn OFF the DST function, set the DST Switch to OFF. The time will go back 1 hour.
4. Set the DST Switch to AUTO to have the unit automatically adjust the time at the beginning and end of Daylight Saving Time each year.
